  • Yeah odd, I've just got the code now too. Took them long enough!

  • +1

Gotta say the wording in the deal on the ING site is kinda wishy-washy. You and your friend "could" get $100 in each of your accounts, and "up to 30 days after you have met all the requirements, in some cases this may take longer."

  • Last time I didn’t think I had the code and had to let people who asked me down, then I realised last minute that I had it! Thankfully this time I am included

  • How does referrer produce a promo code? Is it in the mobile app like “refer a friend” or referrer receives an email from ING? (not for everyone)?

    • -1

      Email with a link inside

  • -2

If I just made the account with a referral code, what are the chances of them sending me a referral code email?

    • -1

      zero obviously.

  • Is the code, one time use only? Or can multiple friends use the same code?

  • I got the email with referral code. How can I know if someone applied it during creating new ING account?

    • doctrine of good faith

    • They will need to message you to find our your code to use, so you'll know then. If they then follow through or not - who knows!

  • Can we track the referral progress? If we can, how do we do it? Thank you.

    • Request referee to update you once they have used your code and fulfilled the criteria.

  • The sign up experience has been one of the worst if not the worst I've been through for a transaction account.

    • oh? what was bad about it?

      • Partly my fault but I submitted my internet bill as proof of residency and I received a text message after 4 days asking me to call in without further information. Without ID verification done, I couldn't complete the sign up.

Called in and was told unlike other utilities bills, internet bill is not accepted, so I submitted my mobile phone bill. Finally received an email confirmation that my ID check was completed.

Today, I received two different SMSes again, less than a minute apart - one as a "friendly reminder" that my application was being reviewed and another reminding me to Login online to complete my set up?

Called in and the guy was clueless. He said I submitted an internet bill which is not accepted and I politely asked him to double check. Took him 5 minutes to come back to say apparently the system needs at least 3 business days to recognise that my ID check has been completed. This despite me submitting the new bill mid last week and receiving the confirmation that my ID check done on Monday.

Probably just me and my bad luck. None of this would have happened if I read more carefully and submitted my mobile phone bill instead.

  • Have done everything still no bonus will wait a bit more

Oh also ING now offer the extras on signing up much wow

  • they are bad, didn't honor my bonus.

    • When did you sign up? Did they tell you this?

      • they didn't honor one savings account and one credit card bonus for my referral. Yeah, they called me and only excuses for bullshit.

  • Has anyone had a successful referral yet?

    • No not yet

  • If I sign up, do I get the opportunity to refer others too? Is it just luck of the draw?

    • no chance this time, perhaps some time in the future.

my wife has had an account for years and has never got a referral sent to her, although, she's never actually used her account for the most part. Not sure if that is how they determine who gets one or not.

    • I signed up when this was posted. And I received the referral email just today to my surprise.
      I haven't even gotten the $100 yet

      • Thank you, that's good to know.

  • Sorry new to the ING account. I want to open ING account. Do I click on the referral link to Open the account? How to get the code? Do I open both the everyday Account and the Maximiser Account together or I can just open maximiser account only? I am interested in their Maximiser account. Appreciate advice. Tq.

    • How to get the code?

You will need to obtain a referral code from someone.

You can ask someone you know who has been targeted by this promotion or you can use the OzBargain referral system and randomly ask an OzBargain user for their referral code. To use the OzBargain referral system, go to the Referral Links section under the deal description, click on random (xxx) and send a message to someone.

Once you have received the referral code, you will then need to input it into the promotional code section of the application form (and this should be at the end of the form).

Do I open both the everyday Account and the Maximiser Account together or I can just open maximiser account only? I am interested in their Maximiser account.

You must open both an Orange Everyday account and a Savings Maximiser account. Once your accounts are open and you have received your physical ING debit card, you must also fulfil the following requirements by 31 October 2023 in order to be eligible for the $100 referral bonus:

      1. Deposit $1,000+ from an external source into your new Orange Everyday account within any calendar month.

      2. Make 5+ settled (not pending) purchases using your new Orange Everyday card within any calendar month.

      • As per Post description:

"3. Open a Savings Maximiser (if they don't already have one) and make a deposit into this account."

When opening a Savings Maximiser, do you need to deposit "any amount" into this account as well?

        Also,
"make 5+ settled(not pending) transactions using Orange Card"
-The 5+ settled transactions must be made/settled within 1 calendar month? Cannot be spread across Sept & Oct?
        - must be either 5+settled in Sept or 5+settled in Oct?

      • Just checked ING website.

        YES - deposit any amount
"Open a Savings Maximiser (if you don't have one already) then make a deposit of any amount into it."

YES - 5+settled transactions us in ng Orange Everyday card within any calendar month.(must be same month)

      • Thank you.

  • how long shouldn't I have held an ING account?

    • If you have previously opened an Orange Everyday account at any point since 1 July 2014 (even if the account has now been closed), then you are ineligible for this offer.

  • +1

Has anyone received referral bonus yet?

  • No bonus but people I have referred have had their accounts locked following their application. They're also getting emails about more info on their credit file etc. They need all this for a bank account?
    Anyone else have similar issue?

  • Has anyone actually got the $100 bonus yet? I completed the steps about 12 days ago and nothing yet

    • I asked ING and they said it will be credited 1 month after the requirements met.

  • I'm still waiting for my $100 from about 10yrs ago. ING were kind enough to pay my friend their $100 after they called to ask where it was.(he accidentally added an extra digit at the end of my code when opening account)
ING looked into and then agreed to pay him.
He asked, 'what about my friend who referred me, can you now pay her's?'
ING- 'nah, that's up to her to chase it up if she wants it's'
    Top notch service.

Amyone on here from ING ?

  • Where do you even get your referral code? As in if you already have an ING account and want to share with someone else?

    • +1

you don't get it from anywhere - they email it to you.

      • I didn't get the email so I guess I miss out.

        • my wife has had an ING a/c for years and never got one.

  • +2

Just got my bonus, completed the requirements in August

    • +2

      Same here

      • +2

I just got $300 deposited as Miscellaneous Credit.

    • Same here

  • Just received the referral code as well!

  • I got one too recently. Great deal

  • +1

For anyone unsure about whether you should be getting the deposit the ING app has a messaging system that lets you ask about promotions. I've sent them a few messages to ask about how far into the referrals I am and whether I will be getting the $100. They usually respond to each message within a day or two.

Bit weird that they don't show the progression like the ANZ Plus signup bonus did in-app but its not much effort for $100.

    • Yes, second about the messaging option on the app. They are pretty responsive.

    • +2

Their messaging is quite responsive but they ask questions that they should already know the answer to. I asked when will I get my $100 referral promotion? And they asked which promotion is that as if they have a ton of other $100 promotions. Then they said it should be paid out after the promotion ends. I received mine a week ago.

  • Apple pay not available for this bank ? I don’t see any option in app.

    • Apple Pay is an option.

In the ING app on iOS, select the Orange Everyday account, tap on the down arrow next to the account name, and one of the options should be Add to Apple Wallet.

Alternatively, you can manually add the card to Apple Pay using the details on the physical ING card.

  • If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the 'OzBargain' website or other similar websites, or advertising or marketing your referral code), we may refuse to pay the cash reward (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer.

    Is this enforced?

  • I shared my code via randomiser here. How will I know that someone actually used it? I may be eligible for a reward but never know about it.

  • +3

Still waiting. Completed in August and September

    • Same here, completed mid-September and haven't received anything

  • +1

Anybody know if the $1k needs to be left in the account until the bonus is paid? Could use it for other things

  • Got another $300 this afternoon. Sweet!!

    • How?

      • By referring to my friends:)

  • Got my hun'ed today!

  • -1

SIgh, i called up ING staff to cancel my account and they said it wasnt possible a few years back and suggested to put $0.01 to avoid account closure. Didnt cross my mind at the time but that is ridiculous!

  • +1

Got my $100 credit! Completed steps on 20-Sep, received deposit as 'Miscellaneous Credit' on 17-Oct, so took around 30 days

  • +1

I referred two people and I helped them both reach the criteria. I read the small print very carefully and I have no doubts all of the criteria were met by both of them as they showed me their accounts.

30 days went by, no bonus. So I contacted ING and they said the people I referred would have to contact them. When they did, one of them was told that we would both be flagged to receive the bonus. They did receive the bonus over 40 days after the criteria were met, but I did not. After several more complaints ING is now telling me that neither of the people I referred have met the criteria, which is obviously false as the first person I referred received the bonus and was told otherwise.

It is my opinion ING is deliberately being evasive and not paying bonuses to people that are entitled to them, and I have lodged a complaint with AFCA. I will also be withdrawing all of my money next month. I will no longer support this company.

If anybody else is in a similar situation I encourage them to also lodge a complaint with AFCA.

  • don't remember how many years ago I had an account. what are the ways to check if you qualify for this promo as a new member?

    • Just give it a go, you have nothing to lose.

  • I have Citibank plus (taken over by NAB now) set aside for online overseas transactions or foreign trips. That didn't had monthly deposit or transaction conditions like ING. Is there any similar option or this is as close as it gets? I can deposit/transact 1 month before to qualify for benefits but maybe difficult to plan it every time……

  • any deadline to deposit minimum $1,000 and make at least 5 (settled) card transactions in any calendar month.

    • It has to be cleared by the end of the month (not pending transaction).

    • Yes, 31/10/23 and so no use a friend opening an account now as they won’t get the card in time. 5 transactions MUST be done using the card number.

      • what u mean by using the card number. I am targeted in similar deal with end date of this month and awaiting my card, so I once card arrives I need to use it across any shop to make 5 settled transactions correct? Not sure what u mean by card number

        • You can use your card in store OR online by entering the card details. Payments from the account itself online do not count.

          • @chrisharry53: oh got it. so basically without card receiving no transactions can happen…also wonder 5 small transaction from same store counts….i might not have too many days to make transactions

            • +1

@s0805: You can split 1 payment into 5x when you do self service checkout at Coles/Woolies. :)

              • @double_J: perfect. Now just waiting for card. I hope it doesn't stay pending for long with debit card.

                • @s0805: You can also do 5 1c payments in PayPal. I send 1c from my PayPal account to my wife’s or to my other PayPal account. But, for this promotion, don’t risk it just in case. Buy 5 cheap items through self serve checkout or split the card payments as suggested.

  • how long need wait to get the card?

  • Anybody not gotten the bonus yet? I've definitely completed all the steps.

    • Yes.

      • As in you haven't gotten it?

        • Sorry, misread, I completed the steps and got the money eventually. Took a month or 2.

  • Another bonus just came into my account. Woohoo!!
