    • +1

    • Sales on a bunch of their 18V one+. If I can get back there for photos I will. Noticed mark downs on recip saws, jigsaws, impact driver, hammer drill. Might be just QLD / Fairfield store.

  • +4

    Are these wheelie good?

    • +5

      wheelie (profanity) good

  • Might be a good option for the garage

  • +1

    Will council collect/empty these?

    • +2

      Council? No

      Driver? Maybe

    • Yes, but check with council what sizes their trucks can collect.

      • Temped as it's good for extra rubbish or green rubbish on some occasions. Not sure if the driver minds picking up

        • no ….council wont pick it up. if it isnt a council bin theyll just ignore it….waste is run by private companies and they dont (profanity) around taking free trash for you outside council allocated waste

        • Just paint a white blob that vaguely resembles the council logo on your other bins and you'll be fine.

    • +9

Doesn’t usually work that way. You need to apply through council for an extra bin. They’ll supply the bin and you’ll pay a higher waste levy on your council rates.

    • no

    • +1

My council has microchips on the bin lid, so they can detect which ones are valid and if/when they have been emptied.

      So.. probably not

      • Have they just rolled out the new bins and replaced the old traditional ones?

      • -1

        Location Melbourne

        Checks out.
Trust Dan to vax the bins.😋

    • Depends on the council, mine does.

  • +2

I think i need one of these for my kids hotwheels toys

  • +1

Paint it red/yellow/green for council to pick up XD

    • Generally, 3rd party bins in our area are treated as Normal red lid.

    • cheeky….lol
there are other markings on the council bins though so youre screwed if anyone checks…and yeah they sometimes do

      • +1

I found out council garbage trucks have a camera and they record the serial number on the side of bins they empty. My bin was stolen (? JV 😂), so I filled out a form to get a new one from the council.

The council said my bin was still 'active' in the neighbourhood and they could tell because of the serial numbers captured by the cameras.

I wasn't going to hunt it down and find it. Council just gave me a new one.

        • Council gave me a new one without a form.
I wonder if they’d charging me for both even though I reported it stolen.

  • +1

Showing $68.90 for the 240L in Perth WA.

  • +2

  • just report someone stole your bins and council will give you a free new one

    • -1

stat dec required! …you will be committing perjury! (or something)

    • I am tempted to try this because my bins look really shit (previous owners got paint all over them etc)

    • +1

I just rang them up and said one of their drivers just smashed it on the ground during collection. New bin delivered the following week.

  • Got mine for 68.90 as thats the price that comes up when you don't choose a store on the website

I'm so glad Bunnings has a video describing how a wheelie bin works, as it had me scratching my head!

    • +3

There must be some absolute dumb AF people out there that Bunnings thought this was needed.

      • its just the convincing your boos that its a 2 man job kinda deal

    • +1

Cockatoos In my area got it down pat.

      • bin chickens are still king

  • +1

240L is only $59 in Bunnings SA stores :)

  • +1

little bit slower than the red ones but still CAMS approved for annual downhill ozbargain wheelie bin. derby Remember kiddies wear a helment when riding wheelie bins, we want you back to buy more bargains

  • +1

Thanks OP! Woodville, SA had the 240l for $59 so even more of a bargain.

  • Will council know you have additional bins kept in your home? It's funny how they are in to it, when we had 1 extra bin, they did an audit and discovered that and took it away without our consent. Not fuss about it, just my experience.

    • they literally use aerial photography / drones etc for this sort of shit
      or your neighbours are snitches!

    • We bought our house a year ago and we had 4 bins. Red lid, green lid, yellow lid and a smaller singular coloured black/dark green bin.

I had NFI what this mystery 4th bin was but I saw other people with the same bin and using it like the red lid. So I assumed we were paying for 2 red lid bins. So I put them both out and for months they emptied both every week.

Then two weeks in a row they ignored that extra bin. I got annoyed because the stuff in there was really starting to stink, so I reported that they didn't take my rubbish and left just that bin out and they emptied it. I emailed them about it and they said I was not registered for an extra bin, so I told them to come take it away and they did.

Every council must be so different in these situations.

Can make a DIY rainwater tank with these. Just connect a downpipe diverter and drill/install an outlet near the bottom of the bin.

  • +1

I ozbargained my neighbours bin for free

  • I would think the main use case for this is collecting cans and bottles for cash back. Takes a lot of bottles and cans to get ROI though

  • Found them another $4 each cheaper at my local today so got the 100L one.
