He’s the transforming 80s boom box you know and love! No not that one, the other one. Blaster was the autobots answer to Soundwave, because if you’re Hasbro and selling truckloads of evil transforming cassette decks to kids, why not make a less cool version for the good guys. A jive talking, rock n roll loving robot in disguise, Blaster was happy to share his mixtapes of 80s rock with anyone who cared to listen, and plenty who didn’t.

This is the Shattered Glass ‘mirror universe’ version which means this Blaster is the bad guy, complete with evil transforming cassette little buddy Rewind, who by looks of it, is sadly no Rumble or Laserbeak.

I wish they released more ‘vintage G1’ releases.
Loved those virtually identical 1980’s repackaged releases. So for we got from 2018: Bumblebee, Outback, Swerve, Tailgate, Gears, Warpath, Frenzy, Laserbeak, Rumble, Ravage, Hot Rod, Starscream, Devastator, Optimus Prime, Soundwave, Condor, Buzzsaw, Astrotrain and the last release in 2020 - Blaster.

Surely we can get Hasbro to continue the nostalgia and re-release more of the G1 in their original packaging designs?

They also did the headmasters in original packaging design too

      • Headmasters, meh.

Is there an updated one where he transforms into a portable Bluetooth Bose speaker instead? Kids these days won’t recognise a boom box and cassette tape!

Thought this dude was like yellow and red colour.

An evil spin off of a good spin off of Soundwave huh

Yup, a level of inception that would make Nolan proud.
