      They are terrible! Had those prawn gyozas a few months ago. Never again. Other brands are so much better. Taste is horrible plus theres hardly any prawns in there.

    As a general guide, 1kg of prawns in the shell provides about 24 medium to large prawns, which equals about 500g of peeled prawn meat.

    So the $15/kg Woolies prawns are about $6 more expensive per kg compared to the frozen prawn meat here. I think they taste better with the shell though, and my cats always fight over the heads.

      Buy 1kg of prawns, cook them over a charcoal grill until crispy (a little burnt), drizzle with garlic olive oil and lemon, and eat them in their entirety. They are absolutely delicious and you get to eat the full 1kg.

          Its totally up to you. Personally, i eat the "poo". It gets cooked, and amongst the prawn shell and head it becomes unnoticable in taste/texture.

        Personally, I would only purchase seafood from Australia, and possibly New Zealand and Canada. However, it's surprising to see that many people in supermarkets don't seem to consider the origin or whether it's wild-caught or farmed when buying seafood. We are lucky to have laws which force suppliers to include the origin, was shocked to see in Europe for example its not compulsory.

    I stopped buying coles frozen prawns because too many bags smelt bad when opened, even before defrosting. Buyer beware!

      they get them in frozen boxes, than thaw on display. For sure when they have been on display for a while or/and eventually reduced they would smell a bit. Woolworths told me they can not sell the frozen box as it contains ice which they can not charge me for.

      Yes but no with bonus points and GCs (together ~30% worth) if you make good use of the program however quite stressful sometimes

      For example, this $12 prawn would be down to under $9 after the 10k points (25%) and prezzee GC (6%)
