Awesome OP. Thanks I’m all Shook Up!

  • Thanks Bob19. Wonder if the box office know they are free and allocate the worst seats to the free loaders

    • I got my tickets for Elvis through Promotix for the show last Saturday. We got stalls row J. Pretty decent seats in my opinion.

I went on Sunday. Got there 15min before the start and the line at the box office was like 30 meters long; looked back 5 minutes later and it was another 20m after me. By the time I got near the counter the start time had passed by 10min but they delayed the start, seemingly to me because of these delays.

As it turns out, just before I got to the counter a random person offered me a spare ticket - a paid one, in the third row from the front! One of their party couldn't make it. I gladly accepted.

So I'm not sure what the freebies are like but I suspect they are near the back - which is still fine, the views and sound are good from all around. In some ways being in the back is nicer - when it's not crowded you often have space to sprawl, can get up to go to the loo whenever you want (was busting by the end of the show but had to wait).

Not the best ever show, theres only so many Elvis impersonators the world can handle. But I found the backstory interesting, and the blues and rock were consuming.

      Have fun.

      • It’s best to turn up early to beat the que? How early you think? Don’t want to miss the show. Thanks

      • I picked up our Saturday 2PM tickets at 13:15, no queue whatsoever at the box office.

        • Does this mean they allocate seats when u pick up ur tickets? So it's good to get there early?

    • I got mezzanine row C last Wednesday, good seats. $159 each when I checked booking website.

      • They gave us row L in front of the stage. Good tickets.

These shows are on promotix because they have very poor ticket sales overall. It's not like they have sold out the good seats and only give out the bad ones for free.

      • +1

Yeah, methinks the producers of this show are crying. For lots of reasons it's better to have a dud than a dud and empty seats.

      • +1

lol can vouch you only get meh/bad seats at the Athenanuem, no matter what time you get there

  • Thanks for sharing! Never booked through PromoTix before, will be interesting to see how it works.

$9.95 booking fee per ticket to offset the free ticket. I see what they did there

    • +4

The ticket by itself is more than $9.95 and is charged whether the ticket is free or not. Not really offsetting anything.

      • Is the show worth more than $10 though?

    • The $9.95 goes to Promotix essentially. When you collect the ticket it will likely say COMP

      • -2

That’s a huge cut to operate and manage the tickets. They should go elsewhere

        • The show is getting bums in seats, that is what they are wanting to do. Promotix is an "external promoter".

          • @JordanM: how do they make any money though when giving tickets away for free and only 8 dollers booking fee?

            • @Capricorn: The Booking Fee goes to PromoTix, they are making that.

The show doesn't make anything (unless you are buying merchandise or similar) its just to fill the auditorium and those that paid $100+ dont think wow this is empty.

  • Do you need ID to collect tickets? I just got them under my name but want to give them to the parents.

  • +1

Shouldn’t be a problem. Just get them to show the PDF attachment.

  • Thanks OP hope mum likes it

  • Thanks op

  • When I was looking to go a few weeks ago the theatre was 1/4 sold a week out and there was about 10 tickets less than $150 with rows of empty $220-300 seats. Shocked that strategy didn’t pay off..

I went last Sunday. It was a fairly good show. Loved the energy of the performers. The performer who played Elvis did a fabulous job. Top notch - would recommend if you are a fan of Elvis or want to experience a musical. Having said that, I wouldn't pay full price for the show because my interests don't fully align. Went to experience a musical theatre and NSW State Theatre for the first time as I had never been. I paid $17.90 in booking for 2 tickets so they must have increased the booking fee.

RRP for these tickets is $69. Some Uni students were also offered these for free on campus without any booking fee.

    • Booking fee still shows for me as $8.95 per ticket when logged in, not sure if others are getting $9.95.

      • at checkout it goes to $9.95

        • Just booked a couple for Sunday 1pm show at $8.95 a pop.

  • Thanks op, got 3 at 1pm on Sunday. $26.85

  • Loved it! But bring some hearing protection 😆

Guys this deal is amazing seriously go check the show out, it was really great !

Enormous energy from all the cast, Elvis actor was amazing. All the songs perfectly performed. A really great show overall.

With this promo I got amazing seat at the front as well. Run for it ;)

  • This show was amazing ! There are still more tickets available up until the 31st. Great night out, go and show them your support! Beautiful theater aswell, just gorgeous!

  • I concur with the comments just above, show was really enjoyable. I'm not necessarily an Elvis fan, bit I had a great time. Didn't hurt that we ended up with the best seats we've ever had through promotix or on the house.

At this price I definitely recommend checking it out, I've bought some for the in-laws this Saturday.

  • Tickets still available uptill the 2nd os September..how can we get this deal to be marked not expired?
