Him card has JB Hi-Fi. Much better than the Dad card (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/795768)

    • Some don’t have jab hifi listed on them
      Be. Areful..

  • Yeah but but 9.1% vs 10% off 😗 /s

    • How 9.1% ?

      • you spend $100, you get $110 in value,
        10/110 = 9.09%

        • +1

          I would rather say 10% - by spending $90 for $100 item (or) $900 for $1000 item

          • @keepsmiling: if you spend $90, you only get 20x$90=1800points.

            • @Rocinante: If you get $10 back upon spending $100, you are literally spending $90 - isn't it?

Your analogy would make sense if someone has spent 110 to get the 10 cashback which is not the case here.

              • -1

@keepsmiling: 10% off means you get $10 back when you spend $100, but in this case, you do have to use $100(gc) & $10(2000pts) = $110 in order to realise the $10.

                • @Rocinante: Nope, you dont spend $100 + $10(2000pts) but only $100

                  • -1

                    @keepsmiling: Still 9%. You outlay $100 for $110 in value. (110-100)/110=9%

It would be a mistake to just divide 10 by 100 and call it a day.

                    • +1

@CommuterPolluter: I'm with @keepsmiling - You outlay $100, and you get back $10 in points so the net cost is $90. That's a 10% saving.

                      • @Ozitravel: At the end of the day you’ve spent $100 not $90. The points are not redeemable for cash. They are $10 of additional value not a $10 discount.

        • +1

Late to the party I know but I love this example because of how the real world and maths mess with each other.

          To me:

It's a 10% discount on what you spend at AirBNB but a 9.1% discount on what you spend on the overall capitalist corporate machine.

Didn't realise Him cards have Uber Eats!

  • bought some airbnb at 10x at cole this week:(

  • Eats card never seems to work at mad max. They make up the burrito and then you swipe the card and get errors. Try credit and debit. Call head office and no luck. Works fine at grills.

    • That’s because they don’t load the software into their system. Happened to us with $50 food, we gave them the unused gift card and left. I had to call ultimate and get them to call the mad mex franchise and set it up.

      • Wow I'm surprised they allowed you to leave them with the unused card (assuming you had your $50 worth of food?)

        • We spent the whole $50 yes. Took them about a week to get sorted and redeem the card.

          • @EBug: They gave me my burrito free on the end

    • It works for me at Mad Mex. Doesn’t work at Nandos.

Why do I need this when I already have Windows Defender? Anyone have experience with Sentinel one?

    • +1

Just get it anyway, sounds like you may need it 🤓

  • Is this in all stores Australia wide?

    • +2

      It should be.

      • There is nothing to suggest in the deal terms and conditions that any Woolworths or Woolworths Metro stores are excluded.

      • The second poster I spotted says NAT in the bottom right-hand corner, which means it is a national promotion. If it was not a national promotion, it would say something like NAT_ex_TAS (i.e. a national promotion that excludes Tasmania).

      • Can you pay with a woolworths gift card or does it have to be cash/credit card?

        • +2

I highly doubt it you could use a gift card issued by Woolworths Group as a payment method.

          • It is against the terms and conditions of a Woolworths Supermarket gift card (or any other gift card issued by Woolworths Group, including WISH gift cards) to use them to pay for gift cards.

          • If you scan a gift card to purchase, go to the payment screen, select Gift Card as a payment method and swipe/scan/enter a gift card issued by Woolworths Group, you should get an Items Not Allowed error (or something along those lines).

          • If you attempt to use Everyday Pay as a payment method in a transaction where you trying to purchase a gift card and go to the payment screen, you should get an Items Not Allowed error (or something along those lines). You are not able to use Everyday Pay to purchase any gift cards, even if your Everyday Pay payment source is merely a bank card.

Feel free to give it a go to see whether Woolworths have screwed something up and have accidentally opened a loophole, because you never know…

@WookieMonster: Will give it a go and report back if it works but otherwise, thanks for the advise!

  • is Airbnb $100 denomination only?

    thanks

    • Unfortunately, yes. They initially forgot to exclude the variable load Airbnb gift card in the terms but the digital catalogue released today has been updated to specifically exclude variable load Airbnb gift cards.

  • Looks like they've put in a limitation of 5 cards per day per member for the Ultimate cards fixed value (at least the fine print mention for that), the rest of them still have a limit of 10 cards per day per member.

All of those can be done in multiple transactions.

    • Do you think it is per Ultimate type - 5x Ultimate Him and 5x Ultimate Eats, or 5 total Ultimate cards?

  • Will this appear on the rewards app at all? Do you need to boost it?

    • +1

These deals are usually in the catalogs, available to all not just members of the rewards program, and therefore do not need to be boosted.

      • Thanks! You're right its in the catalogue.

  • can you use ShopBack Supermarket Visa Gift Cards (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784127) to buy this in WWS?

    • Just tested and worked fine.

  • How does airbnb gift cards work? If I want to spend $500 on a property can I get 5x$100 of these cards and use them all at once in one booking ?

    • +1

Yes. They just add to your wallet balance.

  • These fixed amount Airbnb gift cards are quite difficult to find in Brisbane. They all just stock the variable ones.

  • I want to buy something on autobarn worth $375. It looks like I need to buy 4 him gift cards. Is it possible to use 4 gift cards online or convert 4 Him gift cards into one $400 autobarn gift card? I’m trying to avoid going in store as the nearest is quite far away.

    • +1

      No.

      • You cannot consolidate 4x Ultimate Him gift cards into 1x Ultimate Him gift card.

      • The Autobarn website says you cannot redeem an Autobarn gift card on the Autobarn website. It says you must go into a physical Autobarn store to redeem an Autobarn gift card.

      • The Autobarn website will only let you use a maximum of 1x Ultimate Him gift card on their website, as they only accept 1x Visa card per online transaction. Having said that, I will note someone apparently had issues an Ultimate gift card on the Autobarn website in the past, so although Autobarn says you can use an Ultimate Him gift card on their website, an Ultimate Him gift card may still trigger their anti-fraud controls on their website…

It looks like you will need to go instore if you want to use 4x Ultimate Him gift cards at Autobarn, or wait for a deal on a variable load Ultimate gift card. Giftz.com.au was selling their variable load Ultimate Him eGift Cards at 8% off, but that deal ended last night…

  • How can you use this for online orders off officeworks or Jb Hifi?

    • Officeworks is not listed as a participating retailer for any of the gift cards in this deal, so I would be extremely surprised if any of those gift cards worked online at Officeworks.

You can use a maximum of 1x Ultimate Him gift card on the JB Hi-Fi website, and you will need to enter the Ultimate gift card's detail in the credit/debit card section of the JB Hi-Fi online checkout. If you want to use more than 1x Ultimate Him gift card on the JB Hi-Fi website, that will require some effort.

      As a side note:

      • If you want an Ultimate Him gift card that works at JB Hi-Fi, make sure you are purchasing the Visa version. If you end up purchasing the eftpos version (which started being phased out in 2021 and has been removed from sale at most retailers, but I did see them for sale recently at EG Ampol), that is not redeemable at JB Hi-Fi. As long as the gift card's packaging looks like either of these, you will be fine.

      • The Woolworths you go to may stock the Visa version of Ultimate Him gift cards that were manufactured before JB Hi-Fi was added to the Ultimate Him gift card. Any Visa versions of the Ultimate Him gift card will work at JB Hi-Fi, regardless of whether or not the packaging includes the JB Hi-Fi logo on it.

  • If the ultimate him cards on sale don’t have job hfi or eb games listed on them does that mean the card won’t work there?

  • Ah ok my we doesn’t have jb hifi on the packaging

    • +1

Hey mate just so you know it doesn't have to have the logo on the packaging. If in doubt read WookieMonsters post above

  • I only found out, you can top up your SubCard using the Ultimate Eats card any amount minimum $10.
Just in case, no one aware of this, may be I am the last one to find out. LOL
