        You're not getting 1200nits from any portable monitor or laptop… Even the mini led screens max out at 850nits across the whole screen and apples mini led are max 500nits sustained for general use and sdr content.

        500 nits should be ok and the minimum I would look for.

          You can get the betterdisplay app for Mac which allows you to increase brightness in miniled screens beyond the 500nits limit. Been using it for over a year with no issues

    I can't use it on a train. But I could at the park. But why haul so much around?
