[Preorder] Zyron Powerpod 100W GaN 3 Travel Charger $69.99 (RRP $129.99) Delivered @ Zyron Tech

260

Seems like Zyron has unveiled their new range of travel chargers. I've had good experience using their older 65W GaN charger. Other versions are also available:

  • The 140W version is available for $99.99 here
  • The 67W version is available for $49.99 here

I also got this code in the email for a buy 2 get 10% off deal: BUY2GET10. Not sure if targeted, but it couldn't hurt to try.

  • the website doesnt seem to load for me, is anyone else having the same issue

    • Works for me

  • -1

100W version, single port max output is 65W. So if you are using Macbook Pro, you need to buy 140W version.

    • Doesn't it say "Output USB-C1/C2: … 20V5A"? Or am I missing something

    • It's 100W C1/C2. can you please share where did you find 65W? 65W is when using 2 ports.

      • just made my order for 2x 100w, thanks!

  • +3

Thanks got the 140w version. Been waiting for it

  • Wish these were in desk charger form

    • +4

They (100w and 140w) come with extension cables which make them desk charger form (I assume you mean not having to sit on the wall socket)

  • Won’t ship until October :(

  • I love the idea but I have too many Gan chargers sitting around lol. Must resist!

  • -1

Would love if this had a USB-A port

    • Agree

    • What's usb-a? I only know c in 2023.

    • +2

140W and 67W has USB-A ports. We wanted to keep 1 model with all USB-C ports based on the feedback & requests received over the last few months.

  • I have 3 laptops for work, one I run off the dock and then I’m looking for something like this that can do a MacBook Pro and a HP (830 or some such). Will these have enough grunt to keep them charged? It doesn’t need to be fast as I keep them on charge all day. We only have hot desks so keeping it light and portable is a priority for me as I have so much to lug around.

  • Has anyone used these in high altitude or in snow conditions as friend of mine is travelling to Nepal for high altitude climb or any recommendations?

    • +1

Are you serious? How is altitude or cold weather going to make a charger stop working?

Also if your friend is going be be at altitude in Nepal, he's not going to have a 220V socket in his room, he's going to be handing it to the teahouse staff to charge off their own power supplies (water or solar) and will probably be paying by the hour.

  • compare with Anker, which quality is better?

    • Anker is the top dog by reputation and performance.
Zyron have rapidly built a strong reputation and marketing that indicates near equal quality to Anker.
I think both are excellent for the price.

  • New Zyron GaN Just dropped

  • +2

We have received several requests for a further reduced price. I would like to highlight major differences :)

    1) A travel case is included vs no case in previous models
    2) Premium 100W 2m braided cable is included vs PVC 1m cable in previous models
    3) 2 years warranty compared to 1 year in previous Powerpod series
    3) Desktop Extension Cord now allows to swap AU EU UK adapters on a US foldable fixed plug vs fixed AU plug on previous extension cables.
    4) AU EU UK travel plugs included vs Add-on for 100W and 140W

    Trust this information helps :)

It's noted that this supports PPS (great!), however could you clarify the PPS specifications, as it's not noted on the webpage. Specifically, I'd like to know if PPS mode supports up to 5A or if it tops out at 3A. For instance, 3.3V-xxV/5A or just 3.3V-xxV/3A?

Also happy to see a charger with no USB-A ports :)

      • Sure. I will ask the team to add these details. Should be updated later this evening.

        • Any update on this?

          • +2

            @RichardL: For 100W 4C PPS specs are:
            C1/C2 3.3-21V5A
            C3/C4 3.3-16V3A, 3.3V-21V2.5A

    • On you older Travel Versions, the AU adapter made the plug sit upside down. Do you know if this has been fixed in the latest versions? Especially for your new 67W travel adapter?

      • Yes fixed. Plug, led light, logo are all fixed for all 3 models.

        • Perfect, any idea when the new 67W travel adapter will be available on Amazon?

          • @mystrd: It’s in process. Probably in 7-8 days it should be available

          • @mystrd: 67W is available on Amazon now: 67W GaN Charger

            • @ibelievesyd: I have ordered, I will post a review on Amazon once it arrives of my opinion

              • @mystrd: Thank you :) Looking forward for your feedback.

            • @ibelievesyd: Does the carry case fit the charger as well as all the Travel Adapters? What about the cable?

              • +1

@CodeXD: Everything fits in one case. Even for the 100W and 140W the extension cable can fit together too.

  • when will this sale end?

  • +3

Do these charger reset when a new device is plugged in for renegotiation of power allocation?

    • +2

Yes they do reset to renegotiate power

      • Thanks for confirming.

  • I’m really tempted to buy this! Price seems okay too. Could it charge both a Macbook Pro and an iPhone 14 Pro both at once?

    • Yes it can. If your MB needs 100W then go for 140W. If it needs 65W then go for 100W.

  • I just grabbed an old one (non-GaN) 156w ($60) and the new 140w one ($100). the buy 2 discount code worked for that combo btw.

  • Is there a USA (type A) plug adapter available for these chargers? Does anyone have recommendation for a GaN charger with travel adapters for USA and Australia?

    • The listing mentioned that it came with the adapters. Check the "Is this charger travel-friendly" section of the FAQ at the bottom of the page.

      • +1

Thanks, I saw that. No mention of US plug though which is what I need unfortunately.

Any recommendations for one with a US plug?

Absolutely! The GaN technology allows for a compact and lightweight design. The included AU EU UK plugs makes it a great choice for travel. Its high power output also ensures you can quickly charge your devices, even when you're on the go.

        • +1

Ah my bad, I didn't see the US plug thing. Maybe @ibelievesyd can answer whether or not Zyron has US adapters for these.

    • +2

All 3 models have a fixed foldable US plug. AU EU UK are swappable. For US you don’t need plugs. Just carry the charger with you.

      • Ahh fantastic! Thanks for the help @ibelievesyd, that covers everything I need then!

      • I was going to ask the same question (US plug) - I would suggest you spell out what you state above on your website to clarify

  • @ibelievesyd any plans to release the 67/100/140W chargers in white?

    • Not immediately unfortunately. May be few months down the line.

  • @ibelievesyd just wondering is there a 140W travel charger with 4 usb-c ports coming soon down the line? 140W is nice but the current one only have 2 usb c ports :(

    • Unfortunately not. Only 100W with 4C. More ports will increase size and weight further of 140W

      • Cool thanks for the quick response :)

  • +1

The 67W charger has gone up $10 to $59.99

  • Any update on when we can expect these to be delivered?

    • +1

      Refer to Rep's previous comment

67W with 2m/3m cable will dispatch within 2-3 days.
      100W around end of October
      140W around 15th to 20th October

      • I just got an email saying the 140W chargers are delayed for another month (no idea if the 100W mode is similarly delayed). Good to get an update though.

  • Shipping Update @18/10/2023

    Pre-order Shipping Update @ 01/11/2023

We have received partial certifications and expecting the remaining certifications around end of next week.

100W GaN 3 : will start to ship from 10th November (14th November in the worst case)
140W GaN 3 : will start to ship from 10th November (14th November in the worst case) All orders will be express posted with a free 2m cable (apart from the one included with the charger)

    • +1

Thanks for the update. Will the 100W GaN 3 be posted via express too? "All orders will be express posted…" seems to imply that it is just for the 140W GaN 3 chargers.

      Cheers.

      • +1

Yes, we will post all orders by express as all are delayed past the earlier committed dates.

    • +2

Looks like it’ll be worst case. Should we expect to see the tracking in AusPost tomorrow, @ibelievesyd ?

      • +2

Not today unfortunately :( but from tomorrow you will start to see tracking updates. All pre-orders will be express posted by end of this week.

        • +5

Still nothing… looks like it's worse than the worst case.

        • I just got the email. Shipping by the end of this week. I’m not sure whether to believe it.

  • Do you have a picture of how the 100W sit in the travel case with all the travel plug and extension cable?

    • I don't have unfortunately but we have made a compact case where charger and plugs sit on one side in a pocket while the extension cable and USB-C cable sits on the other side.

  • +2

Any ETA on post out dates? have the stock arrived in AU yet? with the delays at ports?
I need it soon for a trip in early Dec

  • +1

Dear all, we received the certifications on Friday. Just waiting for clearance of goods from 13th Nov :( We shall receive the goods anytime in our warehouse and they will be dispatched by Express post within 1 day. We sincerely apologise for the delay.

    • +7

I’m appreciative of the updates but damn, that is one massive delay from the original expected release date.

      • @ibelievesyd Doesn't look like you are sending them via express post

  • +1

No email update yet.. today must be the big day. Six weeks from the proposed shipping date. Has anyone received confirmation that their order has been posted?

    • +1

Nothing yet, so I'm guessing nothing will happen until next week.

  • +2

At this point it’s starting to become a joke. It’s now the 27th.

    What’s the latest update?

  • Somewhat lost the excitement from receiving the purchase

    • Same

  • +2

Hey @ibelievesyd, any news on shipment? The last update via email about a week back said

The pre-orders are expected to now dispatch between 22nd November to 24th November

We are now days past the 24th. A little communication would help.

  • +2

Hi, we finally got the delivery notice for tomorrow arvo. Hopefully there will be no further delays to dispatch the orders. We will make sure all orders are dispatched within 1 day of receiving the stock.

  • +3

    Dear All,

We have just received the stock. We will be performing random testing for the next few hours. All preorders will be dispatched by tomorrow.

Once again we apologise for the delay. We cannot thank you all enough for your patience.

    • Thank you! Just in time for my trip in 2 weeks.. i was getting worried.

  • +1

@ibelievesyd Are you keeping your promise what you posted on the thread and via email. Hopefully all gets shipped out by today and tomorrow via Australia Post Express Post and also includes the 2M 100W USB-IF Certified Cable as promised. This was not a pre-order but rather should have been advertised as a crowdfunded Indiegogo style as thats what exactly what you folks have done.

All orders will be express posted with a free 2m cable (apart from the one included with the charger)

    • I paid for an extra cable so would hope to see the one in the box, the extra one paid for, and the free cable.. minimum. No email yet.

    • Yes that's correct. All orders will be Express posted. 140W order will receive an extra 2m/3m cable as available and 100W orders shall receive black 100W USB-IF certified cable.

      • My order says Parcel post on the Auspost app

        • Please share your order number via pm

      • +1

        LOL, I guess 2x 1m cables is close enough to 2m 🤣

Seriously, it was just a bonus, and I'm very grateful. This thing was worth the wait!

  • Things don't look good, they just go back on promises posted here and what was sent via email.
I got a tracking no and it is sent via normal parcel post :( and not express post

    • Posted here as there is a chance they will see them and start putting those Express post labels :P
I know how businesses can be sneaky unless you push them

    • That sucks, my tracking indicates that it's via express post.

    • Mine wasn't sent express post either :(

    • +1

Mine says express post. Hopefully everyone ends up getting their as soon as possible.

As much as we hate the delays, Zyron have been strung along by their suppliers too. OK, the communication could have been better, but they have been providing confirmed info when they have it, and best guesses when they don't.

I feel they've done better than most other companies in similar situations, and certainly seem to be making a real effort here.

  • Just received mine today. Working well so far

    • was yours sent express? mine is being sent as standard.. did you get your free cable?
