Mothers Choice Accord AP Convertible Car Seat 0-4 Years - ISOFIX: $179.40 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Baby Bunting

1200

Legitimately just bought this a few days ago for $265 thinking I got a good deal.

Used twice and its a good unit as a back up for our second car. So far we have no complaints. Good rearward and decent forward facing safety scores on childcarseats.com.au (https://www.childcarseats.com.au/)

Also available in different colour (grey) https://www.babybunting.com.au/product/mothers-choice-accord…

I've been keeping track of this seat for over 12 months, and it rarely goes below ~$280.

This is the same as Mother's Choice Adore AP sold in other outlets, but named differently (and exclusively) for Baby Bunting so they don't have to price match.

Hope this helps someone, especially with the cost of living pressures of the last 18 months.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Nice find, super cheap

  • We have this one too (we have two) - it never goes on sale! It's one of the highest rated seats.

  • This is a GREAT price for a really good carseat! Don't hesitant if you're in the market for one

  • We have one from birth. Son is still in it at 3. Amazinv seat

  • Legend OP, just got one.

  • +7

Don't need one but got one just in case. Better to buy something you don't need than miss out on a good deal.

    • +2

Just get your wife pregnant again in order to utilise

  • Bought one from Kmart as the backup for the secondary car but hadn’t opened it yet.
Lucky they do 60 day returns, it’s been 52 days sitting unopened haha.
Bought this one and will return the other since this does isofix.

    Thanks OP!

  • How does this compare on size? With two of these will the middle seat be sittable on?

    • -5

There will be plenty of room in the back if you strap two of these to each of the two front seats Follow me for more life hacks.

    • Good and narrow. What car? Likely but how are you going to get into it? The recommendation is two next to each other, one in the middle. If sk, room left over on the side for a passenger in a sedan but a bit tight.

    • +1

No if I had two the center seat would fit half a person.
You could fit a small child but they would not enjoy it

If you have a larger car…possibly. what car do you have? I have a small hatch

  • Thanks OP, agree with other comments. Never goes on sale and it's a great seat.

  • Going to be a new Dad in December, what's the difference between something in this price range vs $500-$1000?

    • +10

      A lower bank account balance

    • +6

Norhing mate. Car seats are bottomless pits of myth and BS. Find a second hand one (they are literally everywhere when you start looking). The whole .."it might have been in an accident" makes zero sense. They are blow mold plastic and belts. No cracks, no tears, no mould and under 10 years… Good to go.

Only thing that you need to get right is the width and the depth (does it fit behind your front seats ok). As for the actual construction / safety. They are all shit. Volvo make a good one… But its not allowed to be used here…but what would Volvo know about safety.

Is this compatible with a Honda Accord?

  • Bought it for my car when we had our daughter. Great secondary seat only complaint would be the button to tighten can be hard to locate (comparing to a Britax though! )

    • Why do people keep mentioning that's its a great secondary seat, whats the difference if it's your secondary or your primary?

      • The button on my Britax is easy to locate. The seat belt glides smoother. And it fits my daughter better.

        • Kids grow a lot so fit can hardly be a criteria. The button for releasing the child or extending/retracting the belt? And is that the belt you mean glides smoother?

          • @Jackson: The belts that go over their shoulders glides better as well as the tighten strap.

Fit is subjective. Ymmv. The Britax is a better fit for my daughter compared to the mother's choice. She's outgrown the side supportive cushions so they're removed. She sit in the Britax well but has lots of sliding room on the mother's choice.

Expecting Feb2024, is this a good buy now? TA!

    • +2

      Yes.

      • What a shame! I’m located in NT🥲

      • Should be in classifieds

        • I am pretty new to the site and only knew about the bargains and comp sections.

Didnt know there was a classifieds, thanks for letting me know I will post it there later in the week with photos.

  • Mother's choice Accord AP or Infasecure Momentum Quantum Pro Isofix 0 To 4 Years Car Seat (https://www.babybunting.com.au/product/infa-momentum-quantum…). Which is better almost same price ?

  • +3

Thanks OP and others who recommended. Absolute minefield researching carseats. Ozbargain is the only research I need this time around.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Bought it for my second baby arriving Jan for my work vehicle. Hopefully it compares well with the Graphene and Bfirst that I already have in my primary vehicle price wise.

    • +1

Looks like the specs are only 1cm off the graphene

  • Geez that’s a great price. I have two of these already and have been great from birth to now 2.5 year old. Im tempted to buy two more and just have the same two seats in both cars. Hmm.

  • I paid $299 for this one just this year. Never saw it on sale. That's wow.

  • I also have same one bought for 2 years now and paid full price!
    This price is very good

  • +1

Thanks, just got one for the grandparent's car!

For those with Facebook, 'Child restraints. Is your child restrained correctly?' is a very knowledgeable and helpful Facebook group that gives great advice about recommending car seats and installing them correctly.

    • All my seats have been basically used twice, ex grand parent hard rubbish seats.
      Cheers for starting the chain.

  • Expecting in December

    Question:
Does it fit well in Sedan cars, like Toyota Camry?

    Thank you

    • +2

Sorry, this is designed for the Maserati/Lamborghini new parent market.

    • Yes. Three would fit rear facing well, or two and a slightly squished back passenger. Try it out yourself

      • What is two and three? Didn't get it 🤔

        • Two of the same or similar width car seats. And three car seats. Forward planning for you.

Are you sure you're not having twins or triplets?

          • @Embaloo: Thank you
Yes, we are sure. This is our first baby :)

    • +1

Works well. We have 3 of them. One in a sedan, one in a small hatchback and one in a Kia Sorento.
Comfy for bubs, easy to adjust and install. Highly recommend.
Baby bunting can do a trial fit in your car before you buy, to make sure it fits with enough room.

      • wow. That's great.
        Thank you for your explanations

    • +1

Yes, it fits fine in our Corolla Sedan

  • I find curbside collection has the best deals on baby seats in my area.

    • I am glad to hear people do this, the whole it can go wrong sounds like hype from the industry to keep you buying new ones. T snot a helmet with a shell, there's not going to be invisible hairline cracks under the paint

  • In the market for a car seat, was looking at ozbargain's favourite Britax graphene+. What is the difference between this and that?

    • +1

      I have both.

Graphene or Graphene+ has a longer rear facing duration and more compact. If you're fitting it in a dual cab (Hilux for me), I'd take the Graphene, otherwise the person sitting in front will need to be a dwarf.

Graphene+ also has better finishing/material, however whether that is enough to justify 3x the price, I'd say probably not.

If you have a medium/large sedan or an SUV, this would be perfect.

If you're looking for extend rear facing (which I highly encourage) and require ISOFIX, I'd probably gravitate towards the Infasecure Attain More or the Britax Graphene+, probably more the Infa.

Everything else you read regarding one brand over the other after the above is just brand snobbery, I find :)

      • Thank you so much for detailed insight :)

  • Awesome, have twins arriving early 2024 so picked up two of these

    • +1

      Congrats! All the best!

  • Expecting twins in March, this is a great deal. Thanks OP!

    • +1

Wow, another parent expecting twins right after the above comment.

Congrats (from a random stranger on the internet)! All the very best!

  • -4

It was half price few weeks back.

    • For lower/higher/same price as this? Did you post it on OZB?

  • Thnx OP grabbed one

  • in market for booster….Any feedback on this they have…https://www.babybunting.com.au/product/mothers-choice-zeal-booster-4-8-years-moonlit-grey-112123

  • bought this for $319 a couple of years ago. still think it is a solid purchase. definitely value for money at this price!

  • Bought 1 - thanks OP

  • Thanks for the post! First baby due February. Was thinking to seek second hand wherever possible but hard to say no to this.

  • +1

Is the moonlit grey one the same product? Despite having the same name, from the images, the seats look quite different.

    • +2

Exactly the same. The reason why it looks different is the front on picture has the head adjustment shifted higher to suit a taller baby/child.

  • +2

Just bought one, thanks op! Signed up for an account and received a $10 voucher (takes a day) which stacked with the FREESHIP coupon code for free shipping. Also, don't forget to activate Cashrewards for 5% cashback.

  • I don’t remember how much it cost, but we bought this for my car when my now 4-year-old was 9 months. It’s brilliant, been happier with it than the Infasecure we had in the other car.

  • Enough research for me! Purchased. Hopefully my car has the ability to fit a car seat, probably should have checked that first. Oh well.

  • Thanks OP. Got one and combined with 10% Cashrewards.

  • Maybe you got the last one. They're sold out by the looks of things. :(

  • Shame. Seems out of stock

    • Thomastown in VIC is showing stock of the grey.

      (Also Bendigo and Shepparton.)

      • Apologies. I should have said 'out of stock for delivery'

  • Interestingly back in stock again at some of the more metro stores but unfortunately at the original non-discounted price.
