2-in-1 Aluminium Torch or Headlamp $14.99

  • Rechargeable 14500 battery with built-in USB charger
  • Torch or lamp mode
  • COB Lamp can be changed to white, red or flashing red
  • 3.7V - 800mAh
  • 90° rotatable torch head
  • Magnetic, multi-angle mounting and handy clip for belts, bags or pockets

I bought this last time & use it as a torch more than a headlamp. It simply slides off the headstrap & becomes a torch. To recharge unscrew the back & there is a USB to plug into your phone charger. There is a red light to show it's charging & it turns green when fully charged.

To turn it off hold the button down until the light goes out.

Found it on Amazon for $22.99

  • Alright for a beginner camper with a partner and 2 (2Y and 5Y) kids, is this 6p pop-up tent a good value option, or is there a better quality/value one?

    • +3

Used one as a Scout leader for a few years now and it’s not let me down. I bought a different bag and store it with the rain fly still on, which makes it even quicker to put up.

      • Hey Pobman, Glad to hear it's posted for you.

Roughly what size does it pack down to?

Also, how's the ventilation fit hot weather?

        • Glad to hear it's LASTED not "posted". FOR hot weather (not "fit"). Geez, I suck at typos!

      Too small mate.

I'd be looking at a twin room 8P at a minimum.

We have the Coleman Northstar 10P and the ability to have the kids in one room is priceless.

      • I just watched this and kinda want one now :)

        • It's awesome mate. Room for kids, room for Mrs and I and a common room for internal storage and the dog.

The standing room and integrated light is amazing. Great tent. I got it for $530 price beat at Anaconda.

          Bargain

    • Decent, but if there's enough rain to pool on the ground, it can seep in through the floor.

We've been using this one for the past few years, 2 adults, 2 kids. For $139 at the time, it was definitely worth the money. It hasn't been through real extreme weather but handled rainy trips ok, didn't leak through or get flooded out. Of course different tent now so don't know if new one is the same.

We all fit, but theres not a lot of room left. With your kids at that age still its probably ok, but as ours are getting older now having a second room for them like maxwellish says would be much better. At least with the screen room at the front of ours we can store some stuff there rather than in the tent, so you might want a tent that at least has that too.

    • Coleman 10p or 8p are better choice in terms of quality and space. They are big enough to divide into separate rooms or keep it as one large room.

    • We've got a 10Y and a 5Y, and the 6-person one gives us plenty of room.

The 10-person and 8-person tents are too large for us, especially when it's cooler outside and we want a smaller space to stay warm efficiently.

Time to have a referendum on these Aldi posts! Do we need these on Ozbargain?

A bit ironic considering 20% of your deal posts are from Aldi…

      • Somebaaady gotta do the hard yards yo!

The battery inside the torch is Li-ion Hyundai 14500.

    • mAh?

      • +1

I just took a picture of the sticker on the torch - 800mAh

    • Huawei cell this time.

Not sure about it as a head lamp. No angle adjust makes it kinda hard to work directly below you (and using torch angled down points off to the side)
Also not a fan of the USB A plug for charging, having a large thing hanging off a USB port. Using an extension is probably a good idea, USB port built in like most others would have been better.

  • does it work while being charged?

  • +2

Having the red light on those headlights is amazing with insects around. They don't get attracted to it like they do to the white light.

  • Hey guys, I have the Coleman 9p chalet from last deal but it is massive for when is just Ms and I. We were looking at a smaller one for just us, 6p ideally, Would you guys go this Aldi one or the Oztrail Blockout 6p at tent world for $299?
    Cheers
