Hi OP, do they have Zelda games for sale in the catalogue? thanks

    • Not the OP, but if you click on the image, Zelda TOTK is available for $74. Which is $5 off retail.

  • Cheeeeeeep

    • +14

Well it is a console at the end of its life.

    • +11

      Not cheap

      • +9

It's the same price it was at launch 7 years ago lol.

I got mine for $320 6 years ago and it's the good one that can homebrew.

        • +4

The one thing I can’t wrap my head around this website is it’s love affair with rrp gaming consoles yet the same people scrutinise other deals that are $1 more expensive than ‘all time lows’

          • @tightm8: Human psyche is fascinating… and exploited well by big marketing firms.

      • On the flip side, your resale value is high. Also the money can go towards making quality games.

    • I remember buying the switch for $299 from some 1 day eBay sale here

  • +1

So whats the deal on fb market with people selling brand new oled for $300? Must be scammers? But they offer local pickup so not sure what is the trick

    • Doesn't seem too unreasonable, it's second hand after all

      • Nope it says brand new

        • +5

          Its a scam 100%

          • @narmirarmi: Yes i guess same as people selling brand new steam deck 512gb for 680$

            • +5

@CyberMurning: Most secondhand marketplaces are absolute cesspools of scammers, if you just spend enough time looking every day, you learn to subconsciously detect which posts are scams, and you start to realise that they have a rotation of about 200 images and blurbs for their posts. Its ridiculous, but you just get used to it

  • Waiting for a decent deal on the pro controllers. We are long overdue

  • Price match at big w and then finally can use the 10% off that comes with woolworths mobile

    • -1

That groceries from Woolworths. Not consoles from Big W.

      • +1

        ???
You get 10% off at woolies per month and also 10% of big w.

It only exludes gift cards everything else is included

        • wow thanks I thought it was only at Woolworths

        • +2

          A. big W does not do price match. B. 10% discount does not apply on game consoles. lol

          • +1

@qzcbmo: A. Big W has price matched for me multiple times.
            B. I don't know too much about this so you could be right about this point.

            • @michael9865: wow, then never let the staff left the job in that bigW. I was trying a number of times to ask my local bigWs to price match Lego from Target and was told eveytime, 'we bigWs don't price match'. What they can do is if bought the item and then item on sale within 30days, can refund the difference.

              • @qzcbmo: It might be depends on the person and location, last time the BigW price match me for detergent from Woolworth

              • @qzcbmo: Yeah, I did hear that some stores don't do it and some do, kinda depends also who you get I guess. But I only price-matched a few times bound to get someone saying no.

  • Does Target still provide hard copies of their catalogues?

    • +3

OP’s photo is of a physical catalogue.

      • That's why I asked 'cause maybe OP printed out a catalogue

        • +1

Wouldn't they just post the digital copy instead of one they printed themselves?

The print quality, paper consistency and bleed indicates it's a mass produced physical catalogue.

@cute as duck: I never assume

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Why do you never assume?

            • @[Deactivated]: Yeah, the lights might be green to me, but I can't assume the others are red, I'm gonna wait here a bit at the green light.

              • @FabMan: A classmate almost got run over by a car that didn't stop in time at a pelican crossing. Luckily, she rolled off the bonut & abused the inattentive driver before dusting herself off & continuing her walk to school.

                • @[Deactivated]: My point you purposely missed is that you make assumptions all the time, just because you think you are special on this, you aren't. We all make assumptions, some more than others, it saves time and our brains are wired that way.

                  • @FabMan:

My point you purposely missed …

                    Stop assuming

                    • @[Deactivated]: You assuming I'm assuming? Whoa.

                      • @FabMan: When you actually type out what you A S S U M E D I missed then I'm not assuming

          • +4

@cute as duck: Print it. Take a photo. Screenshot the photo. Post to imgur. Link from OzBargain.

Expect Amazon to price match them eventually

  • wasn't target selling the OLED Switch + a high quality game (Splatoon / Pokemon) for 389 last year + the year before. Why is it so expensive now?

  • Been wanting a switch for the past couple of months, but hearing all ths Switch 2 rumours starting to ramp up and now the private demo, I think id rather wait for that console and cross my fingers for backwards compatibility

    • When there is sw2 i will buy on launch date just incase someone find the similar backdoor as the original on early production units

    • +2

Yeah you don’t want to switch when it comes out….

    • you'll probably be waiting at least another year

  • +1

If you’ve somehow managed not to buy a Switch up until this point, I’d recommend holding off for next iteration. Buying a PlayStation late in the cycle can make sense because the console is cheaper and the games reduce drastically in price… this isn’t true of Nintendo consoles.

    • But you missing out on thousand of switch games…

      • +2

I’d be shocked if the Switch 2 isn’t backwards compatible with the current Switch.

    • This is where we are at/been for last ** of time. Keen as for on one, yet have still hung out waiting for the next one as rumours have come n go..

Dang annoying.. to buy or not.. sensing an update has been rumoured and on the horizon for (what seems like a) good chunk of time now.
Hard to lay down $ seeing where it is in life cycle

  • -2

    how much is kirby ?

  • This is tempting as! It’s unlikely for the OLED to get lower than this is it?

  • +1

Is the oled model worth an extra $50? Asking for a 10 year old.

  • +1

Anyone else like me just waiting for the switch 2 and hoping it has backwards compatibility. I really wanna play the Nintendo games but right now i can't justify getting a switch when 2 is right around the corner. Anyone else going back and forward like I am? hahah

    • +2

I've still got a V1 Switch. We've already got lots of games for the family and in general I'm still impressed by the graphics it's capable of given the age of the console and size/versatility.

I think if you bought this you will still get plenty of use out of this because Nintendo's earnings forecast doesn't indicate a new console release before mid-next year - even if released Q3 next year there will be a wait time so probably 2025 before you get one. Was looking at updating to this and selling our old Switch with clapped out repaired-many-times-over joycons etc. but not sure if I'll bother.

      • Thank you for the reply Buffalo. I just purchased it! I hate waiting haha

  • Can anyone else verify the catalogue and the promo price? I asked one of my neighbours who works at jb hi fi match it. She said she can do it today if she can verify the price on the target website or site the catalogue. I can’t seem to find the catalogue anymore nor it’s loading.

  • i Have a PS4, but thinking of getting a switch. Unsure if I go with the base or OLED model.
Should i get old one from facebook or new ?
If OLDE is the $449 a good deal now or wait for Chrissy/ cybermonday sale to get a better deal? normally $449 for OLED with a game included would have cut it for me.

    • For $50 more buy the OLED if buying new.

You can snag decent deals secondhand on Marketplace at times from people just cleaning out house, but most are the older non-OLED console and there are plenty that want way to much coin for well used scratched and dropped consoles with worn out "drifty" controllers and a dock that is a bit iffy.

  • Prices have been updated on the target website to reflect the discounts.

  • Grabbed the OLED console this morning for the kids. Might be an early Christmas this year :D

  • Weird
