  • How much is it full price?

    • +2

Normally $13.99 + tax per month for the Wall Street Journal. And Normally $16.99 + tax per month for the WSJ + Barron's & MarketWatch

  • You could also do one for literally every US newspaper.
NYT has had a similar offer, $2 per week or $20 per year for the first year

      Correct.
Although there is a free web browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that can bypass Paywalls and read all of those subscription newspapers for free. But I am pretty sure it's illegal to share here.

What does it start and rhyme with?

        • Spend the time, find the crime (works on AFR too)…

          • +4

@Gav: Just disable js and you can read the whole article on afr. Same for theage. Though these days most of the articles are just useless opinion pieces.

All I can say it's credit to Slickdeals

      • not if you send in private message : )

      • I only use that plugin for sites owned by a well known ex-Australian media baron for my occasional peak at the trash and misinformation they are publishing. For reputable journalism site like NYT I pay for a subscription to support them

Paying subscription for washing my brain cheaply…

Once subscribed, try cancelling. They offer you two months free for you to stay on.

  • is marketwatch useful

  • +2

Any FT.com deals out there, was using a bookmark ad bypass but the loop has been closed

    • +1

You can use an extension to redirect to an archive.is/archive.today page with the article

      • also bypass paywalls clean

        • It stopped working for me recently so I switched to the archive method. Unsure why and was curious if it was just me - not sure what I changed or if it’s the system (bypass paywalls not working was correlated with my deleting recent cookies but idk if it’s causative)

    • +1 for FT. I’d rather read it at full price than WSJ for free.

Does anyone here have a subscription to the Australian financial review?

If so, is it worth it? Also, is there any way to share a subscription?

    • I think it’s a real worthwhile read personally with a touch of salt. It tends to publish a range of opinion pieces - it can be jarring to read an IPA or gas lobby piece but they also do publish a fair amount of stuff from union officials etc.

Still somewhat of a conservative bent but worth having in your mix. Nobody really competes with its field. Less sensationalist coverage on global affairs than the likes of the Age.

Edit: also they republish tons of great FT and Bloomberg articles

To cancel WSJ subscription, you have to RING US service centre. This is the only way to cancel it.

    • +1

You do it through online chat but yes it is a pain. Every US news subscription I’ve had has been like this.

    • Sign up via PayPal. And then u can turn off the recurring payment.

  • I get a free WSJ subscription with a trading account; I ended up cancelling it as I tired of logging in all the time (I clear all cookies regularly); much easier to access with one of my favourite browser plugins.

  • Any Bloomberg subscripton deals ? I find it very hard to bypass the paywall.
