  • Does anyone know if ANZ will send an email once we reach the requirements in regards to the gift card?

    • +1

      see my above note

      • cheers!

  • +3

FYI, just spoke with Anz, the agent confirmed the $350 cash back deal and I have reached the spending threshold, however the Cashback will be a physical gift card that will be posted to you after the first 3 months!

    • Was just about to ask this, waiting for mine patiently

    • Well they clearly have no idea, as the deal specifically says "digital gift card"

I think ull find the promo from these anz deals arnt issued by anz but a 3rd party, hence the really shit / no detail they provide

  • +3

Is everyone seriously holding off closing this card until late December / January 2024 by which point the digital voucher should have arrived?
This is so frustrating! I called ANZ on Monday who confirmed a digital card will be sent but couldn’t advise when.

    • +1

Yeah so annoying. Thought this would be a quick churn and burn with such a small spend requirement

      • +1

nope anz fuk you around big time

    • if I close the credit card now (have spent $1500) will I get the digital voucher?

      • +1

I doubt it. As with any promo, you must have an active account with them to receive cashback, bonus points, etc.

      • nope, 100% can confirm you wont, from experience

    • +1

Just got confirmation it is 3 months from qualification date

      January next year it is…

      • do you mean 3 months from the date after you spent $1500?

      • Is that when they'll contact you to find out which gift card you want? Or do you get to choose now, and they send it in 3 months?

        • +1

They'll send an email from the sounds of it in 3 months from spending the $1500

  • I signed up for this card back in September, only just got approved yesterday (forgot I even signed up). Before I spend 3hours on hold does anyone have any experience in the likelyhood that I would still get the bonus $350 gift card? Couldn't find anything in the T&C's about if i had to be approved before 30/09 or just apply.

    • +1

I don’t have any experience but it sounds like they owe you the $350 under the terms and conditions, if there was nothing requiring approval by a certain date.

I have experience lodging a complaint with ANZ to get them to honour their terms and conditions and that worked out so worst case I’d be confident you’ll get the voucher in the end.

Since you’ve already incurred the enquiry on your credit file and only need to spend $1,500 I’d proceed with confidence and hopefully it will even work out automatically.

  • Just wanted to mention that I believe ATO transactions are included as eligible. I made a $1900 ATO payment (and only that) on my credit card. If I look at my statement, it says a line:
"$18,100 eligible purchases required to receive Annual Fee Waiver of $87 on your next Annual Fee Date, which is dd/mm/yyyy"

That tells me the transaction does meet the criteria of "eligible purchase" for ANZ. I'm fairly confident that'll carry over to this gift card offer as well.

I'll find out for sure when I hopefully receive the sms/email for the gift card in early Jan.

    • +1

ATO payment is not eligble. I called ANZ and they confirmed it is not.

      • Indeed, I had to fight tooth and nail against their CS department through multiple phone calls, and finally received my $350 as a "good will gesture" after proving to them that their T&C's for the card don't exclude govt purchases and even their own statement PDF includes the govt transaction in its eligible purchases calculation as I mentioned above.

I make far too much to be spending hours on BS phone calls over so little $, but lesson learned.

Anyone received any update on the gift card?

    • +1

still waiting, spend requirement done already a month ago

      • Same here 🙂

        • Waiting as well, any updates? Are they suppose to send us an email for the gift card?

          • @BrightOrange: 350 gc just landed

            • @victimize: @King kong @Bullish01

              • @victimize: Thanks for the update. Nothing for me. What does the email say?

                • @King kong: Basically a 'Woohoo it's time for your giftcard' And they proceed to give you a unique code to be claimed on a dedicated ANZ page where you select the GC of your choice.

                  • @victimize: Hmmm not sure what's going on. Probably will wait

                    • @King kong: Looks like it's slowly being sent out based on the comments below. I must've been the first wave of GC's

        • Waiting as well. Spend met on 30 September.

    • Nothing here :(

  • +1

Just got an email for the 350 gc :)

    • Was about post the same!

    • Yep just got an sms

    • +1

Nice! How long did it take from when you met the requirement?

      • have not received mine yet? When was your card approved?

      • My card was approved end of Sept. Only met the spend late November.

        • strange I think my card was also approved by end of Sept and but I met spend in Oct

—- i got no sms yet

  • Woohoo, just got the sms for the $350 giftcard! :)
Does anyone know if it's possible to split the amount into multiple cards?

    • +1

No, but can you can choose activ Visa card, I then chose to buy other gift cards as per my comment below or you can buy anything you want

  • +1

Just received an SMS with link to redeem gift card

Chose activ Visa card which came through instantly, purchasing $150 Prezzee cards through PayPal to receive the $10 bonus Prezzee car

So glad I can finally close this card

    • Yes, it looks like the best option since it can be used in many places.
Is there an activation fee though?

      • +1

No there isn’t, just edited my comment before your reply but it came through instant and works straight away

        • Great, I'll pick that one then, thanks!

    • Thanks for the tip, I chose the Activ Visa card and followed your steps, got the $10 Prezzee bonus in a separate email. No activation fee for the Activ Visa card.

  • Received GC text after one month billing cycle

    • do you mean 1 month after the date of bank statement

      • Yes , for my case

    • Seems as though they just decided to issue them yesterday, I had the card 3 months but met minimum spend in the first month and also received it yesterday

  • +1

Seems like it doesnt matter when you achieved the spend the issuance is random

    • Seems so. I met the spending requirement 1 week ago and just received the sms today.

      • Yeah still waiting….met the requirement over a month ago sigh!

        • Yep ditto
          Wtf ANZ

          • @Drakesy: Unfortunately it’s how they operate at ANZ, most likely IMO to be useless as a bank.

Having said that, it’s hard to stop coming back with the benefits they offer and it’s satisfying to get something for nothing from them in the end.

Last time with another promotion through Point Hacks I only got my benefit after a formal complaint. I will be lodging one the day after they’re late with providing the benefits owed.

I have made 2 calls to resolution team and the 2 ladies there told me, they found in system:

On 5 Dec SMS with the link to redeem egift card has been sent to my phone

On 12 Dec on email with the link to redeem egift card has been sent to my email

but in both cases, i am 100% sure I got nothing in my phone and email.

So the resolution team asked me to contact with the team though internet banking by using "online enquiry"

    • Thanks that was very helpful. I messaged ANZ through the app and they confirmed their records show I was texted and emailed already too. (I wasn't!)

They are apparently going to resend it.

      • could you update next week to see if you get it or not.

        at least i haven't….

        • Sure, I will

          • @Uzb9811: I’m gonna shoot a message as well and see how it goes. I haven’t got it yet as well.

            • @ThePeterGriffin: I messaged on ANZ app and managed to confirm that I've reached spending requirement on 30th Oct and the gift card will be sent via email/SMS by Feb'24.

              • @King kong: How did you get through to a person on the app!

                • +2

@spa: Log into ANZ app. Support. Message us. Click "Something else". "Credit card inquiry" and explain the question..someone reached out to me the next morning since it was after hours.

                  • @King kong: They ended up telling me yes I had met the spend, but I have to wait 90 days from that date to receive.

          • @Uzb9811: any update @Uzb9811

        • +2

following this thread as well - according to ANZ they sent me a SMS on the 5th of Dec and i have also recieved nothing. ANZ doing everything they can to make this CC bonus the biggest pain in the ass possible.

          • @toastynoodles123: Similar situation. ANZ say they sent me an SMS on Dec 5th, but I received nothing. Called on 18/12 and was told it'd be resolved within 24 hours. Nothing happened, so phoned again today, and was told they'll follow up and get in touch within another 3 business days.
Not loving the hold times over the phone… 1hr14min spent on Monday and another 38min today on the phone.
I imagine I'll be calling them up again in a week.

            • +1

@EvilRabbit: Any updates @EvilRabbit? I also called ANZ on 21/12, and was told everything was documented for the manual request but nothing received to date. I have again called just now to the customer care team and have been advised to wait a further 5 business days for the request to be actioned.

This is so frustrating, and they insist the message was sent on 5/12 per the above comments, but not everyone bloody received it! I just want to close this waste of time card which earns nothing!

              • @SPJobs: same here i just got off the phone with them, iv been ringing everyday since the start of december. they advised me to wait '48 business hours' WTH, never heard of anyone saying to wait 48 business hours. I suspect the team are having issues with the SMS platform, they said they they had sent it out 3 times, but no luck.

              • @SPJobs: Phoned up again today. Was told that my previous enquiry was still being processed, and I should try phoning up again next week.
                I suspect nobody received the gift card on 05/12. A couple of observations;
                - As best I can tell, the earliest anyone here received the gift card was 11/12. Seems 7 people on this forum received it then.
                - Another 7 people (myself included) have been told that they were sent the gift card on 05/12, but did not receive it.

                • +1

@EvilRabbit: Interesting, and what @george12 said, the team are definitely having issues with the SMS platform, as I was told today some customers numbers block the text from coming through so I should instead be monitoring my emails, which obviously we all are. I am with Telstra if that makes any difference.

Thanks for your answers. Fingers crossed this is resolved soon.

                  • @SPJobs: That is interesting I am with Telstra too!!

                    • @george12: Same boat. ANZ told me text sent on the 5th, didn’t receive anything. Also with Telstra. They actually told me they have requested the team to send the code again and via email, but they told me that last week as well and I didn’t receive anything.

                • @EvilRabbit: Same boat
                  ANZ doing some gaslightin

    • They told me the SMS was sent on 5/12 as well. I called them and they told me I should receive it in January…

  • Messaged ANZ via their app. They claim to have sent me an SMS on 05/12 like a few others here, but I did not receive it - and they suggested that I email '[email protected]' to try and resolve - which I've just started. Also with Telstra here. Wondered if their scam/spam filters (network side) are blocking this before it hits my phone. Spoke with Telstra customer support, they suggested trying to turn off "Filter scam text messages" in the Telstra app… but when I asked if this would release any messages blocked retrospectively, they said they weren't sure. I really doubt it will but none the less… I am giving it a go and will leave it off for an hour or so to see. ANZ services seem pretty woeful so far.

    • ** update 4 hours later **
No retroactive SMS's that may have been blocked came through (as I expected), so turned "Filter scam text messages" back on via Telstra app. Not interested in leaving it off in the event that ANZ try to send me something again via SMS… despite being pretty tech savvy, I am not interested in an influx of crap just for this issue. Will pursue ANZ to deliver this by email to me and provide an update later when I know more.

      • Thank you for these tips! I checked my Telstra settings and I’ve not had that option turned on, so I don’t get why I didn’t receive the original message. Urgh.

Does anyone have any other ideas aside from messaging ANZ on the app, calling the customer engagement team and emailing the engagement team? That just don’t seem to want to touch this as I’ve harassed them since 18 December and no response aside from when I’ve called, despite their advice that they’d be in touch.

Lodging a complaint seems to be the last resort.

        • maybe it is due to Telstra? My provider is More.com.au and they also use Telstra's network

      • ** update: today **
Still no response from edbengage email address. Spent an enjoyable hour waiting on the phone listening to the lovely ANZ wait music, got through to a rep and had to explain the entire history of contact I've had and advice I've received to date, only to be advised to re-email them specifically asking for instruction on how to redeem the gift card via email eye roll. So I have just done this. I'm not a regular ANZ customer (only one because of this promo), and not about to become one, because my experience with them so far has been totally garbage.

        • I also have not received any email response from yesterday.

        • ** update **

FINALLY. After repeated advice to email that address I provided earlier… AND… after hearing NOTHING in response to the emails I sent, the gift card email has landed in my inbox today at 3:50pm - permitting me to redeem it (which I have already successfully done).

          Staggering.

          • @roflcopterman: i emailed the address and got a "please contact us for an update" via an sms. so now i'll have to call them. sigh.

            • +1

@spa: It's an absolute pita - but I called / messaged(app) / emailed…. multiple times. Keep it blunt. Hammer 'em with this (below). I found app and email was the least painful of the three methods, as it didn't eat into my time like being "on hold" via call. Good luck.

              Call/App:
              1. I have met the spend criteria needed to receive the $350 gift card.
              2. I was told that it was SMS'd/emailed to me, but I never received it.
              3. I have emailed edbengage multiple times and have not received any email for redeeming the gift card.
              4. I would like the instructions for redeeming the gift card sent to me by email to me at your earliest convenience.

Email (use the same email address attached to your ANZ credit card account):
              1. I have met the spend criteria needed to receive the $350 gift card.
              2. I would like the instructions for redeeming the gift card sent to me by email to me at your earliest convenience.

    • i will try the email of ANZ

    • thanks for the email address will be following up via email as well.

      • Also following up with anz email thankyou. I haven't got a reply inside the ANZ app for 12 days, frustrating.

  • hey all! exciting news, i just got my 350$ giftcard via email. Looks like emailing them worked as above.

  • Just got sent GC through email as well. Finally!

  • Did you get it after following up or it was automated?

    I see nothing here :(

    • i emailed [email protected] from my registered ANZ email account, basically just told them to send the SMS through as an email because somethings not working. i didnt get any followup, just the giftcard email.

      • Ahh i see. Have sent an email. Will wait and see how it goes.

Poor effort from ANZ. Seem's like they are vouching on customers chasing up for it.

        • Agreed, even ANZ on the phone told me to chase it up. Sounds like doing their job for them!

      • +1

Thank you, I'm going to try that too.

ANZ have officially breached their terms and conditions for the offer by now as it's been more than three months since I met the eligibility criteria.

        • fkers might say we sent a message 5th dec..
