          • @ThePeterGriffin: They've tried to say that already, a few weeks ago. But I have told them clearly that I didn't get it, and given them plenty of time to send again.

They're also yet to respond to my complaint lodged with them last month (granted I'm sure a lot of staff are on leave).

It's a free $350 so I can live with a delay but it's just a bad look for them I would have thought!

  • I got mine too! Mind you this is after the 5th call to ANZ yesterday and 2 emails to the EDB group, of which no responses were received. I have already applied for closure.

    • +1

How long after hitting minimum spend? My 3 month post spend is 11 Jan and waiting for this prior to card closure. Shall I try emailing them?

      • You can email but I’d call and harass them for an emailed gift card. I met the min spend around 27 September, and gift card was first issued on 5 December, so they said, and again on 31 December, so they said. But due to Telstra it would seem I never got any texts. Stress to them an email needs to be sent as it’s possible given I and some others above achieved this outcome. And goodluck.

Just to add to this, I also finally reached out via in app messaging and was told I was sent a text on Dec 5 (I’m also on Telstra). After about a day, I received an email with the gift card details. The messaging support was actually quite good. They immediately understood the issue and were pretty proactive in getting it resolved, including reaching out to me with status updates. Probably the only good experience I’ve had with ANZ so far. Maybe it’s becoming a bit of a routine now though, given how many people likely didn’t receive the gift cards.

    • no luck with emailing. Shall try in app

    • Ditto, ANZ is the ultimate gaslighter

  • Reached out to support in app (messaging) and been told it takes 3 months since reaching eligible spend before it could be sent out, so I'll reach out again by early Feb. I e-mailed [email protected] 3 days ago as others have noted here, but it has remained unopened (have a mail tracker).

    • Same for me. Reached out to that email. Supported told me that my last statement was in early December(spend limit completed in October) and will have to wait it out until Feb. God this is annoying and too much work.

      • Yeah I got nowhere even after calling them. Half an hour getting bounced between staff. They just said…yeah I'm eligible, they don't know when it's coming but it will be coming and just wait. Sigh

    • Partner was done with spending requirement in mid Dec. Sent them an email enquiry via web banking portal 3 days ago. Got a reply last night together with SMS for the gc.

Claimed gift card and closed account today.

      • Can you share the email address you sent it to?

        • It's in the ANZ banking desktop portal. Log into your account and go to Mail option.

  • Tried online app msging for 2 days and they got me to call them. They said theyll reissue the text and then they said email not an option only if you don't get the text again.

    • The text to your phone to acknowledge email so that ANZ to trigger an email to get the gift card.

  • Okay. My gc came in today.
I had to call to the credit card team where they checked and informed I was definitely eligible. I think the agent on phone filed an issue internally which got this to get resolved. The email thing didn’t work for me though. I still haven’t got a response.

    • I did it via a call and was promised by yesterday and then contacted via app chat today -still nothing

  • Just like others here, I had to contact them through the app and they said an SMS has been sent last month. They said they'll send another SMS the following day, which I didn't get either. Reached out again saying just send me an email instead of SMS. Finally received the GC the following day.

    • I'm still waiting!

      • Same, Trying again through the app

        • I just keep getting the generic message about it taking up to 3 months. Can I confirm you (or anyone) had to wait a full 3 months after your spend before getting your gift card?

  • OK,

Messaged ANZ after my mate received a text within 3 weeks of spending requirements and i'd waited more that 3 months.

Turns out they sent an SMS on the 5/12/2023 - never received it btw, similar to others. ANZ is the ultimate gaslighter.
Messaged them to resend/trigger really keen to cancel it now.

    • yep i was told they sent an SMS in december ……big nope

this was the same BS as last time with ANZ, I think it was a virgin flight credit last time.

Its alllllllllllllways the same, "oh we sent the text in xyz" uhh yer no you didnt chief

  • Finally after 3 weeks of chasing up ANZ I received the gift card today. My advice would be to ring up and ask them to send an email to the gift cards team with URGENT in the description. This helped me as I wasn’t getting anywhere with chat or email.

Ok all, I FINALLY got my gift card land in my email. For anyone else having these issues and just CANNOT get a solution (useless app messages etc). Call ANZ and ask for CARD SERVICES, I think the number is 13 22 73 or 13 33 50. Ask them to sms and EMAIL. It takes about 48 hours but it’ll come through.

Definitely cancelling my card now, ANZ are completely useless

    • good call, ive failed with 3x app messages promising it'll be done

time to use the old school method

  • +1

Jumping on the "where's my giftcard bandwagon".

Messaged via the app - got told "An sms was sent out to you yesterday". Same as most people here, I didn't get any sms (I'm on Telstra).
Was then told that they will re-send the sms, and I asked if I could get an email instead.

Reply: "Sure, but please note that this will add a further delay of 2-3 days as there are a queue of emails for gift cards to be sent out".

    What a shitshow.

  • Emailed and message via app with no solution.
Will give a call as per above suggestions.

    • Same, I have asked them to raise a complaint on my behalf. If no resolution by next month, I will raise a complaint with AFCA. Last app message just said they will try to send the SMS again, even after I have specifically requested to have it sent via email many times prior.

  • I recently got my $350 digital gift card via text message (No follow up needed) … Date Spend Met: 30-Oct-2023, Date Gift Card Received: 30-Jan-2024. I believe it is provided after 3 months or 3 statement periods.

  • +2

Finally got my gift card literally an hour after sending an email to [email protected] quoting a complaint ID I have raised with ANZ as well as threatening to go to AFCA if they continue to ignore my messages.

    • Same, turns ou tthis was what I had to do too. Thanks all for the tips.

  • I think the giftcard phone number was marked as spam on the boost/telstra servers.

I guess ANZ sending out giftcards sounds a bit scammy to people.

  • Follow up after 3x ANZ chat and 2x ANZ phone call and a complaint I finally got my gift voucher via email.

    What a process

Also, Bunnings and Appliances online voucher was not offered when I tried to redeem (despite what OPs post says) - which was pretty disappointing, went for a boring Woolies voucher ><
