  • WiFi Smart Lock

    "Hey Google, Open the door…"

    • "Hey Google, Open the door…"

Hey Google , lock you up 😆

    • It asks for your door passcode so kinda secure.

    • +1

"Hey Google, Open the neighbours door…and use default passcode 1234"

  • anyone has this and know how to disconnect from wifi? - yes then we cant open remotely but im fine with that.
saw on the manual/online, this is one of the way to have longer battery life.

    • I bought the one with wifi bridge instead, can disconnect whenever I want.

      • I bought the bridge one as well as my conclusions from the all the reviews I read was that the bridge version has a much better battery life than the integrated wifi version. If you use the bridge then this just connects to the bridge with low power blue tooth and the bridge handles the heavier wifi power consumption

        • +1

Are you guys talking about this one which is cheaper?

Why does it say "(Need adapter)"? I assume it's just for the plug?

I'm undecided on which one to get.

          • @docpol: Yep that one. It needs a US adapter for the bridge, and based on on what I've read for it to work well you need to have a power point fairly close to the door (within a few meters).

    • +1

      disconnect from wifi

Just setup using BT, and don't configure an AP.

    • How often do you need to change the batteries?

      • +1

From prime day till now. Not yet changed. One day at least 4x open close. Sometimes one day 8x

  • +2

Got this system since kickstarter days. Flawless! Love it! No regrets, whatsoever..

    • Did you install it on a door with an existing deadbolt? Any issues there?

      • This is the deadbolt…

        • Yes. This replaces it. Do these fit the standard holes drilled on door, etc. Or do you have to modify?

          • +1

@stuffandthat: No drill nothing, just take out and put in. Check youtube, there are some measurements you can do with your existing to check.

          • @stuffandthat: Only a backset of 60mm or 70mm is supported (which is pretty much the standard for almost all doors).

    • Yeah, same. Very good lock. I have one for my front door and one for my door leading to my garage. They work great.

Was 195 during prime day i think?
    195 not showing on camel3x

  • Anyone has integrated the wifi version to HA locally?

    • +2

Was just reading up on this. Seems you can if you have a Z-Wave version. Some people have got the Wifi version working through smartthings on HA.

      • Potentially used something like google assistant voice passthrough or similar tricks - not local though. Also Wifi devices have no reputation of being battery friendly. I have zigbee, wifi, rf and bluetooth around the house. Haven't bought any z-wave device yet. Maybe it's time… need a hub first.
The z-wave version of above lock is not on a good sale now.
At some stage I was looking at Yale zigbee ranges as well. Still I find the smart locks expensive in general.

  • In the photos it says "door is closed". I'm assuming that's a guess - it doesn't seem to have any functionality to check if the door is actually closed, does it?

Ie. My kids could leave the door wide open, and the deadbolt engage into mid air and tell you you're secure.

    • Nope it has sensor thingie so it wont say lock if not locked

    • It comes with a small white bit that has a magnet in it. You put it next to the lock on the door frame and it detects when it goes past it. It uses it to automatically lock and to tell if the door is open or closed.

  • Bought it. Just waiting on an Eneloop Pro deal now!

    • Its not recommended to use rechargeable batteries

      • Been using them on two of these locks for over a year without any issues.

  • How do you install it?

  • Bought this to replace an August Lock V2. Had to return it as auto-unlock just wouldn't work with my android phone. Wife's iPhone worked perfectly tho. Went back to August v3 which worked without issue for both Android and iPhone. Anyone else have that issue with auto-unlock? Otherwise prefered it for looks and feels over the August

  • I've been reading the reviews for the app on Android. There are a lot of complaints which isn't promising.
Maybe the iPhone app is better?

    • I have the app running on both iOS and Android.
Notifications are almost instant on iOS.
They lag most of the time on Android. Also, random logouts when trying to view the log.

  • How’s the connection if the power gets cut off? I’m taking it to my home country we have power issues there

    • It has battery mate…. if you mean open from remote then well no power no router no internet… how would you connect to it…

      • Hi I just bought it. I bought it with the wifi. What’s the difference ?
