  • how much lower can it go?

    • Pixel 6 pro just went down to 649. So that low in 12 months time?

      • +15

but then you can get Pixel 8 Pro for that much in 24 months' time!

        • +1

          That's inception

      • At least that’s something you can rely on Google phones 50% off within a year

        • And you will still be able to sell them at 40% in a few years time.

Pixel 5 right not are selling for 300-400 considering a brand new 6a was 339

          • @abs898: Pixel 5 is an exception because it was discontinued even before 1 year after being released.
And it's the last Pixel with a reasonable size and a back fingerprint scanner.

        • I paid $1500 for my 512GB Pixeo outright.

No Regrets, its an awesome phone.

All phones get cheaper years after release*

*except my ulefone armor 9 for some reason (probably the FLIR inbuilt)

    • Telstra will go lower than this.

  • +1

Waiting for Google Store to match so studentbeans could be used.

    • Highly doubt it as most variants are currently on join waiting list atm

      • Yes but they still need to clear stock of 7 pro

    • I thought Google Store price matched Officeworks now

  • +2

    Wait for Pixel 8

  • -1

Yes, tempted, but i will wait for Pixel 8 Pro, hopefully it could be find around 1300

    • Aussie bands are telling me to go pro based on my P6P pics 🤣🤣

  • This with 256gb or the 23 ultra 256gb for same money?

    • +3

23 ultra all day for the same money

    • +2

if same cost, definitely s23 ultra

    • +2

      23U no hesi.

The Pixel really is the best value for premium featured phone, great deal.

I want a small screen and lots of hard buttons. It must happen soon. I can't be the only one.

    • 😳

    • +1

An iPhone 15 mini pro would be my ideal phone.

    • You mean, like a Blackberry? That ship sailed long ago.

      • it wouldn't be so bad, but hard keyboard not required. Just hard volume, mute slider, maybe a camera button. They take away hardware just to make manufacturing cheaper.

Had a mate buy one of these, he could make calls but couldn't receive them softwar.
Gave it back and bought a Galaxy.

    • Makes sense /s

      • Lel was mid edit, the software was buggy af when he had it was what i meant to say.

        • Lel i get it makes sense

    • Yes, this kind of stuff sounds really bad.

    • Very happy with mine and paid a bit less than this deal for it. Superb value.

  • +4

Google should just RRP them at this price, no one seems to want 'em otherwise

    • +7

With the data they gather from their phones ,they could sell it for 1$

  • Expansion storages?

    • Sure, you can connect a SSD drive

      • -1

This. Short USB-C cable and a bit of velcro on the back of the device

  • can anyone please tell telstra to discount 50% ? i really need to buy the phoneee

  • I've come across dozens of posts on the internet across the world (not just USA) about the pixel being unable to dial emergency services.

    911 or 000.

Anyone else had this? It was on Reddit, another one, not more than 2 days ago.

    • +2

Damn that is a serious issue if it is true. It would be something that most people would never test until they were in a situation where they really wouldn't want the phone call to fail

      • And it's been going on upwards of 4 years

        ….

    • +1

I would be trying '112' instead of the local emergency numbers first - but I'm used to imported phones.

    • +1

Nice down votes, why use brain, when can defend $ corporation.

I have one. Too big for my taste, regret getting the pro. Curved screen adds nothing for me.

Software is also okay. Not blown away.

    Camera is fantastic.

    Battery is so so.

Haven't had problems with overheating like I did with the 5

    • +3

Did you not check the dimensions before buying?

      • I thought I'd get used to it. I was wrong.

    • +1

Pixel 8 going back to non curved thank goodness.

Just annoys me if you want the very best it must be huge pro pixel or ultra Samsung :/

    • Battery is not so, so. It's straight up awful. I feel like this needs to be a massive disclaimer for anyone looking to buy this phone.

  • The Google Store also has it for $899. Generally when one of the suppliers drops the price on Google products, the Google Store will have the same deal.

    Amazing photos.
    Great display.
    Really good OS.
    Waterproof.
    Wireless charging, even if slow.
    Good speed/processing power.
    Decent network connection/reception.
    Lacklustre battery life.
    Slow charging.
Horrible, horrible throttling under sustained load.
Gets very hot under sustained load.

If you are after an incredible camera phone and you carry a power bank or method of charging, this phone is awesome. If you want a flagship on the cheap, this might be a good choice. Otherwise, maybe consider something else that may fill those needs better.

I'm on my third P7P due to warranty issues, and if I could be l have been bothered, probably my fourth. I'm just getting another phone to daily, and will keep this in the photographic kit bag.
