They're like $94 at core electronics?

    • Or PiAustralia $94 +Sh
Or PBTech $100.86 +Sh (on order)

To be fair it’s not the worst deal in the world after seeing Jaycar trying to sell for $169 just now though

What the hell is wrong with Jaycar, they used to be OK

No deal here, cheaper at Core Electronics - $105 inc delivery

  • Anyone having this can plz confirm if 4k video streaming via plex (plex pass subscription) is smooth?

    • -3

Just get a nvdia shield 🤷‍♂️

    • I streamed 2k video (not via plex) it was smooth

    • It should be OK but would depend on the OS you have decided to run Plex on, and what else you have the h/w doing at the same time.

      • On latest Raspbian OS with deluge and plex server in background with no monitor.

        • No problems at all. Would struggle if transcoding but if you're playing your 4k as 4k then you'll be good.

(do read into the h264/h265 stuff though)

I run Kodi on one of these to stream 4k video off a Jellyfin server and that works perfectly.

  • To do 4k stream, please consider a very good heatsink plus fan, otherwise just too hot to touch the CPU, don't think it design for this situation, to do true 4k, consider refurbished PC plus GPU.

    • Thank you

  • Yes, I use a heatsink and a fan.
