    Seems expensive.

    $69.30 with More Telecom.

    • That includes Paramount?

just be aware that Origin use CG-NAT and there is no way to opt out of this.

      Origin use CG-NAT

      😲

      • What is the downside of this for general usage?

        • +3

Problems with devices, apps, or services that rely on direct Internet connection.

          It also increases latency.

          • @jv: Ahh ok, sounds a bit limiting!

            • @frogduck: Paramount plus should work fine though.

            • +1

@frogduck: the average user won't notice but those of us who require more advanced do

@jv: Jv is not only a pretty face.

An informative comment for a change

              @easternculture: I have pretty hands too…

I was a hand model once.

@jv: You should have used the balm

When I was on CG-NAT I hit more Cloudflare human checks and Captchas, and as my other comment - Switch online didn't work

          • +1

@thecloudking: I'm with ABB and was similarly running into a ton of Cloudflare CAPTCHA pages prior to opting out of CG-NAT, which they at least let you do, although you have to call them up and give them a reason.

          Big one is gaming.

    • +2

Yep, and unless Nintendo have changed things, you can't play Switch online on CGNAT.

    • You can, and I did.
It just requires $5 per month for a static IP.

      • for Origin?

I signed up and there was no way for me to get a static IP address, I would have happily paid $5 a month.

I ended up leaving within a week of signing up.

        • Yes I went through the same hoops as you, after persisting I was told this and it works like a charm.

          • @Commodore64: ok interesting, was this recently? When i signed up around a year ago, tech support said there was no way around it. I'll consider then when i next churn if in fact I can opt out of CG-NAT

            • @nhutty: I signed up in November last year. Think about it, what's the point of CG-NAT if you BUY a static (dedicated) IP

    • which provider would you recommend?

    • You can opt out of CG-NAT. I did so when they first released their offerings. I used the online portal. Origin is a ABB whitebox offering.

    • Isn't this white labelled Aussie broadband. I would think if you call their customer service they would let you opt out of CGNAT

Paramount plus is basically just ten play app with a few old movies added to it.

    • +5

Of course, there is also another tiny minor insignificant detail- Paramount does not have any ads.

      • Paramount does not have any ads.

That's the only part I actually like.

        • I'd be absolutely sleepless if I knew you were paying for something you didn't like jv

    • It has a lot more than what is on Ten.
I never used to like it, but I've recently signed up and am quite happy with it for now, and the 12-month plan makes it affordable & justifiable for me :)

    • Its the only way to watch A-League

  • Still waiting on my EDR points from the last deal… would not recommend

    • Same here. Called them a couple of times and they said it was being handled by a different team that gives no ETA.
When asked whether I will lose the EDR if I switch now, the consultant said he had no idea…
Will give them another call later today to request a price match. Otherwise, I will switch to Superloop or More depends on which one has the better promo price.

      • I already switched and will be lodging a complaint with the TIO if I don't have the points by the end of this month.

      • Just an update: they can only apply $10 off for 6 months for my account. And they say it does not matter whether I switch away and back, as long as it is the same address, the promo will not apply.

  • Not recommend. Speed is shit and still waiting for EDR points from both origin energy and nbn from previous deals. Spoke to 3 different staffs and they all told me they will check for me.

    • +1

I’m with Origin Broadband and my speed hasn’t been throttled or experiencing any reduced speed
They do use Aussie Broadband and if you’re experiencing a shit speed, it may be dependent on your area
