Pretty good monitor and the speakers were suprisingly loud.

Any deals on Sqny earbuds to go with this?

    • +7

Look Marge - a Sorny and a Panaflonix!

  • Does it connect to the gpu over usb c?

    Don't worry. Got it

  • +1

Does it support connection from the displayport of a graphic card in my desktop pc using a displayport to usb-c cable?

    • +2

      Yep

  • +1

Got one of this, which one is better just for normal browsing, media streaming and reading?

    • +1

This is only a monitor so you're still going to have to hook it up to something, while the tablet will have all the apps.

      • +4

Thanks, lol what an embarrassing question now that you've answered it.

        • +5

It's an easy mistake to make ;)

  • Could this be powered by a decent powerbank?

    • +4

Yeah. Even a normal power bank with 5V output is enough.

    • Yes, it only draws 4w on my meter at 30% brightness

  • Are there any portable monitors that are 1000 nits?

  • Does this require a USB-C for powering and a separate USB-C for display? Or can the laptop provide power/display through one port? (laptop dependant of course)

    • +2

Supports PD passthrough so you can have power and display over a single USB-C.

      • Nice, I'll give it a go then

      • I was a little annoyed at my Amazon one, with 3x USB-C ports and none of them pushed OUT a charge for me :(

        https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0B97JZBBQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_…

        Bottom right = USB-C power in (I have a spare 65W supply)
Upper right = USB-C data in (luckily this is useful for where my laptop sits)

        Bottom left = USB-C
SURELY this is power out for me to charge phone yay!

Nope, it somehow ALSO saps energy pass through out of my phone (my phone supports chargeback)

    • Got mine today, and powering it from just the laptop works - i.e. only one cable from laptop, no other power connected.

  • 'We had to close this order due to security reasons' please try again, but Paypal has taken the funds. Advice anyone?

    • Have you been creating multiple accounts?

      • Nope but hadn't logged in for a while and it forced a new password. Maybe the timing was off, is it safe to log out log in and place another order? Will Paypal honour Aliexpress cancellations?

  • Thanks OP, has been looking to get a portable monitor to work with a few mac mini servers at home
$100 mark fit the purpose for my use case

  • +6

Nice, an Asus portable monitor … wait…

  • Sorry if this is a dumb question, but can a Nintendo Switch be connected directly to this monitor with just a USB-C cable, rather than via the Switch Dock's HDMI output? One review image seems to show a Switch connected with just a USB-C cable, but it's not otherwise mentioned in the product listing.

    • I think you need to buy a special connector from Amazon/ebay

      • Ah righto, thank you!

    • It comes with a HDMI to mini HDMI cable so you can just use that.

    • +1

Can't speak for this specific model, but I have another 14" portable touch monitor that works fine using a USB-C to USB-C cable (appropriately rated) directly from the Switch into the display. Even charges the Switch 🤷‍♂️

    • +1

Yeah it can, I have one of these from the last deal and the Switch runs just fine through usb c cable. And it has pass through so it charges while connected as well

      • +1

Thanks Tougherburger & joshau! Very helpful :)

  • Zsus = Asus ?

    • No they don't have any affiliation to each other. They only thing in common would be a buyer of panels from the manufacturers.

Does any know if Zsus uses a Smasnug panel?

    • +5

Only if it has ZLED technology

  • Anyone know how long would a 10k mah powerbank power this thing?

    • I don't have specifics but I'd say a long time. 5V/1A or 2A in my experience is all they need.

      • A 10000mAh powerbank at 3.7V battery will theoretically have around 7000mAh at 5V

        Given the power required is 1A - 2A @5V

A 10000mAh will last for around 3-7hours depending how much power the screen will draw from the battery

  • A lot of these have been posted over the last few months. How does this stack up to those? Is it a reasonable option? What sort of attributes are there to look for in this sort of thing?

    • +2

Typically you find a size that's suitable. Want more portable go for 14" or 13.3". Want something bigger to be more stationary? Look for 16" and above.

The other main things to look for is the brightness, colour gamut, resolution, refresh rate and touchscreen.

  • Can I set these up to be like digital displays that show sports scores and stuff?

    https://youtube.com/shorts/eP2Ei74GQSA?si=5aqkzum1YRu5O1Lb

    • Couldn't see why not - it's just a portable monitor.

  • Thanks OP. Picked one up. Should be good as a second screen for my iPad. Plus might hook up a raspberry pi to the back of it for some retro gaming. :)

  • Will this work as a monitor for a Steam Deck?

    • Yes

  • Could you plug a Samsung phone into this and use for DEX?

    • +1

      Yes

  • Can you connect this to a surface pro? Will something like mini displayport to USB C work?

    • Yes.

  • Got it. Thanks OP.

  • +2

Hate mini HDMI. Wish they included a full sized HDMI.

  • How long does it usually takes until you receive it?
I noticed some aliexpress items got sent very quickly (2 weeks), some can be up to 1-2 months.

    • Choice products are usually the quickest at 1-2 weeks as they're shipped from AliExpress directly.

      • Thanks Clear.

  • This is a great little screen to have.
Got one from the last deal and it's been really handy for the partner to pair up with her laptop on a small desk, without having the large footprint of a monitor on your desk.

  • bought one

  • Mine was shipped out yesterday. Nice and quick!!

  • +2

I bought one of these last time. They're pretty decent. Surprisingly my Galaxy Fold 2 is able to power the monitor without any external power supply (it drains the battery quickly though). My Steam Deck requires external power with it though.

Colors and brightness are pretty good, though the speakers whilst loud, are quite poor. The stand is flimsy and the rubber stickers at the bottom fall off heaps, but overall the design is lightweight and functional.

For screen is OK for gaming. It's great for Switch games and pairs well with the Steam Deck, but for fast paced shooters, it exhibits a high response time and lots of motion blur (significantly more so that my other 60hz displays).

    • Another thing to note, is it doesn't have vesa mounting holes on the back (some other portable monitors do), so if you wanted to use it as a permanent display somewhere, you'd be limited in how you mount it.

  • Can someone suggest mounting options to be used as a second monitor alongside a 27 inch monitor? TIA

  • +2

Just received this monitor, it came a lot quicker than I expected. Normally Aliexpress takes aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. Absolutely shocked at how good this monitor is. I had very low expectations to begin with so I wasn't expecting much but man for 100 dollars this monitor is fantastic. I'll do a 6 month review

    • +1

Got mine today too. For the price it’s great! Screen protector was a nightmare to put on though. Apart from that I’m very impressed.

      • +1

        is it worth the effort?
        I don't use a screen protector for my MacBook…

        • +2

To be honest probably not. I got it on but it's got heaps of bubbles. The screen comes wtih a cover so i don't really see the point of it. I'll be removing it tomorrow. :)

      • Lol! I felt like I was channelling Mr Bean when I was putting the protector on . In the end, 2mm of the protector is stuck on the left side bezel. And so many bubbles. Also not a huge fan of the stand, but can't complain at this price.

        • I fit it on perfectly. But had lots of bubbles. Used a plastic card thing to try to get the bubbles out only to realise i'd scratched the heck out of the screen protector while i was at it. :)

          • @krammis76: Yea it totally fits. I just did not align mine properly

    • +1

      I too am pleasantly surprised.

The secret to happy Aliexpress buying is to have low expectations.

      • Amen to that. Gonna buy a monitor for my wife when it comes on sale again. Don't like her having one monitor, particularly when she's doing Teams Presentations.

  • RIP my one just came in and its dead on arrival T_T

    • really? mine came and works well with my M2 MacBook Pro.

  • Missed it. How often do these go in sale?

    • Looks like @Clear finds these bargains every couple of weeks. Subscribe to the "Portable Monitor" tag so you get notified.

  • Pretty happy with mine!

3D printed a couple of different stands. Single cable functionality off the Yoga.
