This is basically the same as the Steeldive SD1970 with a white or silver textured dial. Not sure if the lume is as good though.

    • +4

How great is the 1970 though

@Jimothy Wongingtons: misaligned bezel marker makes it look more like a Seiko .. lolz

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I've been keeping the crown unscrewed lately. It's a hard transition (boo-hoo!) due to mild OCD. I know it looks better screwed in and flush…
So much easier to wind it now.

            • @Speckled Jim: Why wouldn't u leave open? Don't get it wet

              • @G-rig: As I kinda said, looks better flush.
                But yeah, screw-in for diving.

                • @Speckled Jim: Hmm I thought you meant fully hacked lol.
The photos it looks flush but can't remember. As long as it's hand tight, don't want dust and stuff getting in.

                • @Speckled Jim: the genuine willards sit very nice and flush when screwed all the way in =P
My steeldive does as well pretty much, so maybe these are a bit different.

                  • @G-rig: Yep, it looks better screwed in. I just got sick of unscrewing it so often to wind it!

                    • @Speckled Jim: Oh right yeah guess most people don't realise have to wind a lot of times to fully charge watches in general, or just wear every day ha

  • +4

Good deal WN but any watch where I can't make out the time in a quick glance doesn't make it onto my wrist.

  • Best to check the dial when you get one, reading a few reviews online where the dial has misaligned hour markers. Silly what you can get for under $100.

  • ADDIDAS watches are good

  • Looks like Bitzer's watch

  • After an SD1953 now I reckon.

    • +1

Another classic, but it’s no 1970

      • Yeah, I'm rocking a blue 1970 right now.
Now I need a Rolex "homage"

        • Which one you thinking fams?

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Mate I have no idea. Either all black, all green, or green and black.
I also don't need a new watch, but I'm not expecting you to help talk me out of it haha

  • Are they branded or knockoffs?

    • Branded and an homage to the seiko 6105-8110

    • +1

Homage in the direction of a knockoff. Borderline acceptable for my tastes.

I have a green one. Awesome watch for the money.

Another review here for those umming and arring.
Is This The New $99 Dive Watch King?

Wouldn't be surprised if Addisdive and Steeldive were the same company, almost exactly the same,no doubt from the same factory.

  • +1

I know a genuine Addiesdive when i see it

  • That tuna is sexy.
What color would be the best.

    • The one you like the most. But when in doubt go with black.

      • Is there a steeldive version. They use better SS bands i think

        • Yes it's called the Steeldive SD1975 but it costs a lot more.

  • -3

    Fugly

  • need to buy 2 to get to use the $6 coupon?

  • Tuna in blue got me tempted

    • +1

It would look ok good on you.

  • +2

The Pilot MY-H2 is my favourite and my most worn, practical, very easy to read and looks great. Bracelet not so good, but easily fixed.

  • +1

I mainly want one to identify myself as an ozbargainer in public.

It's just a question of detection threshold:
      Willard style - 20 metres
      Tuna style - 10 metres
      Pilot - 5 metres

All would look good on you, etc.

  • 47.5mm for the tuna, can double as a self-defence weapon.

    Another option for a pilot watch is the chicken Tandorio 39mm - US$42.33 - US$4 coupons + $3.83 GST, Total US$42.17 (~AU$65.40) delivered.

Old post here. I like this one because you have the option for "no logo".

Who is the intended audience for these? If you don't want to spend on a Seiko or even a Citizen, go with a Timex. They look so much better, and you're wearing something made by a solid watch maker with history in the business.

    • Watch enthusiasts and pretty much anyone.

I have an SD1970 as well as watches from Seiko, Citizen, and Timex in my collection. They are reasonably cheap and great value for what they are. As for where they fit in the homage/replica spectrum, that's up to the buyer as to what they are okay with.

They are a great way to out a different style or even just a great beater.

    • No idea haha

    • +2

It's like those poor fools who buy generic or Kogan TVs. Haven't they seen all the negative comments about them? After all, a TV imposes itself on the whole room, whereas you wear a watch; it's more personal.

Okay, I'll bite. Show us a Timex with sapphire, screw caseback, screw-in crown, 200M pressure capable and killer lume for anywhere near these prices. Do Timex even use ceramic bezels? If so, include that too. Y'see, the internet allows anyone to see that Timex are a budget brand in the US. We get slugged with the Australia tax.
      No thanks.

You're unlikely to find anything in the same ballpark from the other two either.
      Clark3830 attested thus:
I owned an original Seiko 6105 bought in Ubon while flying out of Vietnam in 1970. I feel the Steeldive and Addiesdive homages are very close and worth every penny. They are actually better than what I wore during the Vietnam war

Citizen? Love em, but they're still much dearer, like-for-like.

      In conclusion, if it's:
      • at least 80% as good as the name brand,
      • a small fraction of the price,
      • but not a Kogan TV
you bet your arse we'll be there.

      Any self-respecting OzBargainer would.

      • +1

Fair enough, I understand wanting the quality for a fraction of the price. Might get one, one day just to take for when I go fishing or kayaking.

Welcome to the brotherhood! PJC remains in purgatory. They last commented in December 2019 but was Last Seen 21/09/2023.
He may be watching but I'm sure he won't mind if I step up:

By the power vested in me I hereby absolve you of all blame and residual guilt regarding your essential purchase of this luxury horological device. Amen.

    • they are seiko movement? put it in perspective they are same toyota engine in unknown brand chasis. You can get seiko (buying lexus). the core thing that making it working still toyota engine, just whether you trurst unknown brand chasis or not. lollll

      • Hmm, car wise the engine will most likely be tuned by the same no brand company and installed in a badly built car, even though the engine is sturdy by reputation, the rest of the car won't have the, say, Toyota parts. But I understand what you're getting at and understand now why there would be a market for these.

      • Someone said that the nh35 are too cheap to bother with a Chinese copy, which is why these are good, and the quality of the rest of the watches are great for the money.

Seriously, those wanting a Ferrari not a Toyota will be paying 20-100x more.
