Its good for the price, but do be careful of QC, some of them get returned for issues like water leaks and some of them have issues with stitching. Do be wary and test it out before you go camping!

    (I worked at Anaconda)

    • Was it actually a leak or just condensation? Or were people not seasoning them?

      • It wasn't condensation unfortunately, there were rips or bad stitching at the top or bottom of the swag that when customers are seasoning the water starts seeping in.

Isn't the whole point of seasoning to make the fabric contract around the stitching so that water stops seeping in?
And therefore, isn't it to be expected for some water to come in while seasoning?

I have a colleague who admitted to not having seasoned it properly and having leakage afterwards. I have a canvas tent myself which I seasoned to death, and not a drop came in during a heavy downpour.

@Make it so: Yep, I seasoned my Kings swag and Oztent RV-5+ over a day or two in the sun and never had a leak issue while in use, only moisture issue was condensation in the swag once but that was my fault.

I know we're talking about Dune kit here so quality is going to be questionable, but I bet there's a bunch of non-issues reported by clueless people there.

No one has ever paid $449 for this.

You are giving way too much credit to all of those apprentices who just bought their first 4wd ute…

I wonder how they compare in quality to the Mountview ones recently posted on Ozb.
These have a 70mm mattress, the Mountview was 60mm.

    • +1

10mm - do you want me to show my workings?

    • Dunno about quality, but this one has the top pole which probably makes it sturdier in the wind.

I got my Mountview one, seems decent. Mattress stunk a bit, so I've aired it out, removed the cover, washed it. I'm 100kg and a back sleeper and I should be fine. If you're a side sleeper you'll be in for a bit of hurt

Decent deal, however, this is often on sale around this price so don't feel a need to rush to buy.

  • Recently bought the Mountview swag but am perplex with putting it up. Given 3 poles - short, medium and long
The short and medium are used on the front and rear of the swag but cannot seem to figure out where the long one goes.
    Anyone with any ideas?

    • What does the instruction manual say?

      • Hi hotphil - no instruction manual provided. :(

        • Maybe should be medium and long for the arches and short for propping open the flap? Or the medium is for the middle arch if you're using that.

    • There's EXACTLY 1 video on YouTube of how to set these up. Assuming it's the same for all the sizes. Bogan and his kids set it up/review. 😅

Dune 4WD King Titan Deluxe Double Swag $149

Looks big, does it need a trailer?

  • RRP $449 LOL yeah right. Just so people are aware these swags dont come with the canvas carry bag, you need to purchase that at extra cost.

  • I owned one. took it back as it leaked. got the kings and it's great

  • The poles were too long. The second time camping it ripped off the corner from the force of the pole stretching it. I cut like 50mm off each pole it sewed the the corner back together and its fine. The mattress is ok for summer camping but its just a piece of foam, makes the whole thing too bulky to store/carry. Would recommend getting a decently rated R-value inflatable mattress with the $300 you save. But otherwise solid little swag.
