    solidworks:Am I a joke to you?

      Their pricing certainly is.

  • We don't get last week (911 game) and this week's game (forest… ), right? Model builder isn't banned like those 2 games?

    • +1

FYI - The Forest Quartet is no longer blacklisted in Australia.

    • What do you mean banned? Like they are banned here in OZ?

  • +1

sweet, not too often that there is a game epic has for free that I actually want to check out, but not pay too much for

I thoroughly recommend becoming an actual model builder. One of the best decisions I ever made.

    • +6

Yeah I fail to see how this is in any way a better experience than doing the real thing, which is an easily accessible hobby to all.

This is simulator-ception to the point of absurdity. What's next, "Lego Building Simulator"? "You have stepped on a Lego brick - Mission Failed."

      • +2

Sure, but to be clear, I wasn't ragging. Most simulator games are focused on allowing you to do things you wouldn't otherwise be able to. Like…the reason PC building sim went gangbusters was because we all like building computers, but nobody can afford that regularly.

Model sim I can see being the same. Model making is a real rabbit hole on a tonne of levels.

@Gnostikos for me, its space and an affordability thing, so this is a better way of doing it, it'd be great to use my hands for it, but its just not possible, plus, if I mess up, I'm not out a lot of $$

I'm not sure if it's still supported but there used to be a Lego Factory program. It was pretty good, basically a 3D design program with unlimited Lego bricks. And there was a function where you could upload your creation and buy it as an actual kit.

        • You're referring to the Lego Design byME service which was discontinued way back in 2012. The Lego Digital Designer application that was offered to design custom sets for the Design byME service is still available on various websites but it's no longer supported and has been largely superseded by BrickLink Studio. LDD and BrickLink Studio are both much more similar to CAD software than simulator games though.

            @Gnostikos: That's the one.
It doesn't beat the real thing but having unlimited brick shapes and colours gave it some value to play with.

      • Lol with how expensive legos are that might be a good idea lol

Building and painting Warhammer miniatures became a therapeutic hobby during covid. Now it is a weekly hobby to relax with whilst listening to a podcast.

      Absolutely an underrated hobby

  • Model Builder contains content that is unrated and may not be appropriate for all ages.

    Did I miss something?

    Also soulstice this week.

  • Another game to add to the library which I'll never download… but yet I feel compelled to collect them all.

  • Thanks OP, got it :). Certainly a lot cheaper than the real thing.

At that point why bother just do it for real.
