Pet circle has become a lot more expensive lately, especially compared to Pet Post.

Also, Shopback is 15-17% at Pet Post for next 3 days

    • +2

also, Pet Circle used to have free shipping on quite a few things.
I bought a litter tray last year and it had free shipping, now they want to charge for the same item.

    • Agree, its been very noticeable. They will price match but its a bit of a hassle. Even the $10 or $15 codes they send out every so often barely make it cheaper on a lot of items let alone other sites having cashback promos.

    • +2

Pet post is $13 more expensive for the specific cat food I need.

    • that is why this isn't much of a deal. it gives you a perceived discount, but they raise there price so high that it's no longer a deal.

    • +2

I’ve used Budget Pet Products for a while now. From what I’ve seen, they price the food I usually get for my dog slightly cheaper than anyone else. They’ve got a 20% off code for one time use and the Advance Small Breed Chicken and Rice 8kg bag was $1 cheaper than Pet Circle.

Note they use Aramex for their free shipping from Brisbane, for myself in SA it takes close to 2 weeks to get the food…

  • Didn't even know they had an app! Doesn't work when using store credit, i might need to log out and order under a different email to avoid triggering my store credit.

  • Network error when trying to pay via PayPal.

    • Same. Ended up putting it thru on cc.

    • +2

I couldnt even add a payment method so just gave up lol

    • I was about to do that last night and it ended up literally the same price as 2 other sites using random $10 codes. Certainly depends what type of stuff your buying but what we buy the deals have been very rare past 6 months, often better at pet post, peek a paw, even petso.

      • Agreed but not for what I was after, managed to get Nexgard 6 pack for $70.25 (after auto delivery and first order discount). Not too bad but needed it for next month

      • +2

What are the other 2 sites and how did you get the random $10 codes? Thanks.

  • +3

perfect, i only buy things for my bitches when its on sale.

can stack with the ultimate home card 15% off offer. Just ordered for my kitten

      Good reminder

How do you add the gift card in the app?

      • +5

I believe you have to enter the Ultimate card in the debit/credit card field at checkout. This means the amount on the gift card must be equal to or greater than the purchase amount as you can’t do split card payments.

I know someone who was recently caught out by this. After complaining, Pet Circle agreed to manually process mock transactions for the gift cards and then refunded those transactions as credit to the customer’s Pet Circle account.

        • Yep confirmed it worked for me. I had to add it via the website first, just like a credit card in account management.

  • Does anyone here cut larger Nexgard spectra tablets for a smaller dogs dose.

    • Everything you read suggests that is a bad idea.

    • Yeah I do. Small dog owners are getting scammed. Or the big dogs are getting a good deal. Like humans who wear XXL clothes.

The company says the tablets and ingredients are designed for specific bodyweights and you may be overdosing/underdosing when cutting tablets.
Small dog: 2-4kg Medium Dog: 4.1-10kg. Large Dog: 10.1-25kg

Clearly the dosage is not precise at all. It's the same dosage for a dog that weighs 10kg or 25kg! Also, if your dog weighs 9.5kg, then 10kg the next month, do you double it's dosage?

Another claim is the active ingredients may not be evenly spread through the tablet, and cutting it may give your dog only 1 of the 3 active ingredients. Unless the ingredients are divded into different corners of the tablet, this won't be a problem. Even if the dog gets slightly less of one ingredient, they should still be getting the minimum effective amount. The tablet will have 150% more than is needed, so it's effective for a 10kg dog or 25kg dog.

      • My thoughts exactly- do you keep the left over in the fridge wrapped up

        • So far I’ve stuck tape over the blister pack. Fridge sounds like a better idea

$15 off is better than nothing. Pet food like everything else has gone up heaps.

Use https://99petshops.com.au/ for price comparisons to other stores.

  • The cost of dog food…I fondly remember getting 20kg bags of black hawk for $85. Now it's what, $130 on average? He's cute but I'm not sure he's worth it :-D

    • Try buying Ziwi peak and paying $270 for 4kg. My dog eats better than me

  • food that is avail as a single tin on their website is not able to be selected in the app.
    piece of shit

eg https://www.petcircle.com.au/product/feline-natural-chicken-… 170g can be added, but not in the app.

  • Impossible to pay on the app even with CC… tried to message their CS but no answer. I gave up..

    • Add payment method on the web-site and then proceed via app.

      • Yes, I already had my payment method there. I deleted it and tried to re add it but I keep getting the same error message "Sorry, we were unable to charge your card. Please check your details or try a different card."

    • +1

Same. It comes up with an alert saying "Let's Try That Again", telling me the request failed. Then it empties my cart. Great. Just purchased an Ultimate gift card for this too lol

Update: turns out after 3 times trying, despite 'failing' each time, it actually did work and I got a confirmation email. Think they need to work on their app a little before I'll use it again.

      • Got the order confirmation after exactly 3 'failed' attempts as well. Maybe that's just how their app system works… /s

  • Cheers - Stacked with 15% Ultimate card.

  • just placed an order via App with code APPDAY15, but found the discount was not applied according to the order confirmation email

  • Amex spend $50 get $15 back but my order doesn't go thru..

  • +1

woukdnt process the order with the discount and then it says its not available on the order when trying to process it again

  • Keeps saying “Coupon not applicable” :/

  • +1

I got a connection error when I paid and it said there was $0 to pay. No confirmation email or charge to my card. Same thing happened after trying a 2nd time.

  • +1

So frustrating, no matter what I do I can't add a card to pay, tried multiple cards, the app, the website, existing card on file expired.:(

  • +2

tried 2 phones both unable to process the order at the end, what a joke

  • The amex offer seems to say online only at www.petcircle…. and doesn't mention the app at all so I don't think the app will qualify for the amex offer.

    • Seems to qualify. Just paid with AMEX via app and received confirmation that I used my AMEX Pet Circle offer.

  • Impossible to pay, what a joke.

  • What ^ those users said. App/system denies you three times before accepting your money

    • I have tried what felt like 10+ times, using both gift card and CC card. What OS are you using? Do you cancel, return to the cart and try again or did you click “Retry” 3 times? Different payment method of same one? Thx

      • +1

In app - literally just cancelled (I tried "try again" which was doomed to fail as it had emptied my cart), restock cart and checkout. 3 fails, 4th time worked.

On Android phone (chrome), credit card which already existed in my account. All 3 (4) times.

Then proceeded to buy an ultimate home gift card (another user mentioned it above), and used that on the website (via Android and chrome) for a separate purchase. Checkout screen on the website indicated payment processor problems even before paying. Failed twice, worked the third. It didn't empty my cart during the failed attempts though.

        • +2

I finally got 2 orders through (first order was automatically applied a code (APP1ST*** from my hazy memory) probably for first in-app purchase, also $15 discount. Paid using a CC, worked the third time in a row after multiple (10+) failed payments.

Went back, placed another order using APPDAY15, again failed multiple times using the Ultimate gift card. Eventually tried a saved PayPal address and it worked the 2nd time.

Not sure if $30 can pay for my time and the frustration but I guess we’re OzBargainers for a reason. I’m using the iOS app btw.
