Penrite HPR5 5W-40 5L $49 (40% off) + $12 Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Repco

240

40% off HPR5 oil at Repco

Not all time low, but lowest it's been for 6+ months from what I can see
Not as popular as the castrol edge but a good oil

Can't confirm but you should be able to price beat at super cheap and possibly use discounted gift cards to get a lower price?

  • Nice find. 10 bux a litre is about the best we've seen for ages.

      I bought 20l of this stuff for $215 ($270) 18 months ago.

So yeah this deal is quite good since its a smaller size, i still have 12l sitting around.

      • I just checked. Last time I bought-in was this time last year, from Repco again. $42 for these same 5l packs. I bought 8. Thats $8.40/l.

My HPR5 stockpiles are currently sitting around 30l. I'm considering adding to them with this deal lol.

All my cars specify it (mb229.5), so I use about 30l p/a on oil changes. Mind you, lately I've been stretching out the changes to 2 years (which is allowed under MB ASSYST automatic OCI monitoring), since we aren't doing anywhere near the 20-30k mileage trigger.

Is this good for a Goggomobil ?

Depending on age, Sae30 or sae40 was their original fill, and this is a high zinc and phospherous oil, so yes, quite suitable.

Clearly not for the 2stroke tank though. Modern tcw3 2stroke oil is best there.

  • Great price, especially for these aged machine with high mileage, got couple bottles from autobarn for $49 but this price is even better! Thanks op

    • Same price $49 in this deal how is it better?

      • My bad, thought this was $40, didn’t read properly lol 😂

  • Would this oil suite any car?

    • +1

      No

    • Theres a compatibly thing right there on the page.

    • With Australias stable yet higher temperatures, the answer is NO, but is very close to a timid yes.

You'll get some low saps diesels and such that will run a dpf clean more often on it; but this specific oil is shockingly wide in compatibility.

Unless you own something exotic or hybrid, this is very likely suitable.
