    Geelong Brush

    In before jv.

Can I use this in Melbourne?

The 450mm version is still $35. Ripper deal doweyy. Heading to my local now to pick up a couple (I might also grab this broom while I'm there)

    • +6

The broom can only be used in Geelong by tradies … that's why it's so cheap.

      • Ha, just watch me. What are they gonna do, call the cops? Good luck!

    • Taking my witch with me to test it out.

      Halloween sorted.

    • damn, the jv repellant is strong - i gotta remember that move

    • Ah thanks, couldn't test originally as I don't have an active OnePass subscription, have updated the OP.

      • +7

        Delivery was $50 haha.

  • Thanks Doweyy.

  • Would this work well as a garden broom?

    • As long as you're a tradie in Geelong.

  • Wife needs me to have one of these for the garage.

    looking at a brush

I have never seen this before in my life.

    • +1

Tradie : wot is dis bruh?

      Jimothy: close, it's pronounced brush.

      • +2

Brush? That's an odd name. I'd have called them "chazzwazzers".

(@ my tradie brothers and sisters in Christ, it was also a joke, I respect all trades even if they aren't at commercial level and have luxury of dedicated cleaner teams)

    • +1

They may know it by other names, such as "apprentice repellent" and "plasterer's kickstand".

  • +1

    Great find.

There needs to be a website that allows us to find price drops like these at Bunnings. No stock in the nearest bunnings, so looking for other deals to make it worth travelling to the next one.

  • +1

Thanks got last 2. Tricky to find, only the 450mm has a price sticker on the shelf. Love these random Bunnings bargains. First gorilla cart now this :)

FYI no PowerPass discount. Should have used flybuys instead.

  • I wonder if there will still be stock at Thomastown by the time I can get there in 2 hours?

    • +1

Spoiler alert. 2 hours later there were none left

  • Longest product name ever for a long broom

  • +1

    My order is already cancelled.

Half of my orders is cancelled, because Bunnings sell stuff they don't have.

    • +1

Good bunnings will give you an equivalent such as Alezandria mentioned above and also my local store.

      • Never heard of equivalents being given.

For years in cases of such bargains, I've been receiving text messages from "BUNNINGS" saying they're sorry and that's it. From differnet Bunnings stores.

They probably use pigeon post as API to sync their stock levels.

        • Yeah I had the same thing happen earlier this year with Eufy cameras at my local so must depend on the manager.

    • +1

Ask for smaller size, the smaller size is better than this huge size,if mine is out of stock,Id be happy that I can ask for smaller size.

      • +1

Did that, called them, I was offered any other broom I want at its current price (how nice!) and they categorically refused lowering it to $11.

        • Ha ha ha

  • Got the order cancellation email.

  • Damn out of stock at all Bunnings near me now. Glad I raced to the store and was lucky to get the last two.

  • Got the order is Ready to Collect email

  • +1

Heaps of them in the Busselton store (WA, 6280) - Aisle 37, halfway down the aisle on the right (facing to the back of the store)
The price tag is wrong ($39.95) but they scan up through the checkout at $11.

  • Cheers OP

  • Just picked one from Bunnings,it is good for concreted backyard or very good open area, the broom is too big for normal house clean

    • +1

Get a bigger house then mate :p

      • Haha,Sydney dont have much houses that bigger than mine on sale, but if makes you happy

  • Order place just after this deal was posted, now cancelled, they couldn't even transfer my order to another nearby store which had stock. If it's not in stock then update your website to not waste customers time!

    • If only the consumer law took care of the stores offering and taking money for products they don't have.

      • +3

They have reasonable stock management. The C&C works by a staff member going and getting the item from the shelves. Between you placing an order and them picking the order, there's the possibility that another customer has purchased it.

As long as they're not being deliberately misleading, which I don't think they are here, then there's no action.

You get a full refund, no bait and switch tactics etc, just move on.

        • -2

That's one strange mentality of yours.

This is a huge and comptetitive establishment, not a local shop. There's nothing but Bunnings themselves preventing from changing their system to make it reliable and stop letting the customers down. I wish there was a competitor as big as them. It's been years of refunds for me in case of such bargains and not only bargains - there's a good chance Bunnings is going to take your money for something Christmas-related around Christmas time and then just cancel before you can order it elsewhere.

Genuine thanks for explaining how it works - and it explains a lot. Somebody would say it's a cute old-school system refreaining to give in to all the technology we've had for decades, somebody would just .

Like, the least you can do is not to take money as if you're selling it to me for real.

    • +2

To be fair, they're not an 'online only' store. So between placing an order and it actually being picked someone can go to the shelf and buy the item. Can't have two full inventories of stock. My local has gone from 'in stock' to 'low stock' in the span of an hour. Low stock usually means it's gone for my store.

  • Cancelled from Innaloo WA

    • Ask them to check the actual warehouse instead.

  • Got one for mums deck and outside. Thank you.

  • +1

Four stores, four cancellations - I ordered 1 at each, cancellations were after 0.5-3.5 hrs.

https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/0342039 was showing there were 10-45 of them, depending on the store. I called the stores, one guy asked me right away if I ordered 7 brooms, before I could mention what my cancelled online order was. When I said I ordered just one, he asked if I'm the one who put multiple orders for a single broom.

I picture once they see there's demand like in this case, they can't be bothered going to the shelf and they let people inside the store clear the shelves. Then they mass cancel - too easy.

    • +1

The mystery seven-broom orderer was almost certainly Broden.

      • +4

        It was his cousin Broomen

      • I miss Broden

Got a call from Bunnings, sudden 6 orders placed at once, only 3 available, Lady was kind enough to offer the 450mm version for the same price which I accepted - perhaps other cancelled orders can ask for the same,

Lady advised all stores sold out (SA)

    • +1

I've learned the hard way that any big markdowns at Bunnings posted here result in the product being swiftly Ozbargained.

  • Think I got the last one at capalaba about an hour ago

  • +2

Thanks OP, I got a substitute broom Sabco 600mm 4480340

  • +3

Ordered Cancelled in WA. No call for the substitute, just a SMS of no stock and refund email form Paypal.

    • +2

No sure why someone gives negative vote for providing information.

      • Not sure why as well. There you go, you are neutral now :)

  • +2

Lucky people getting substitutions of any kind.

I was offered any product I want at its current price instead (!).

  • Thanks OP, new shed, new broom

    • +2

Came for the $11 broom, left with a $2000 shed to store it
