Whilst having a clean up we have managed to locate a good quantity of these to offer on OZBargain.

This model (although new this year) is no longer being sold by Samsung in Australia.

    Good deal with shipping included, about the same as JB's price on the weekend with 15% off, but they didn't offer free shipping.
    Any idea why Samsung is pulling the 6800 series out of Australia?

      Not sure to be honest - the 55" was sold out immediately. Samsung do crazy things some times! :)

      The 6800 is also upspecced too - ITS a SMART Tv!!

    Looking for 46" samsung right now, got the green light from the wife!

    Was waiting for a foreign deal similar to posts in past weeks that were for toshibas.

    Appreciate anyone raising decent deals domestic and foreign in this size bracked for LED, pref around $1200-$1300

      Love my LG smart TV…. but can't compare as i haven't seen the two side by side… Only thing to say is passive tv's rock!

      I have got LG 3D 47" LW series and quality is fine not great. I only like its passive Tech. for 3D . I think Samsung and Sony have better quality that LG.
      That said, its just my thinking.

    I have the 40" version of this, and can vouch for its picture quality. Personally, I keep away from LG hardware, due to past reliability issues.

    46" TV for $1500? The picture quality must be incredible.

    The smart TV thing is obviously worth no more than $100 or so extra.

      According to the Samsung representative Micro Dimming is : Edge LED + a software controller that analyzes the picture in 4000 different zones and adjusts accordingly. It’s not a local dimming hardware function but instead a software picture circuit analyzing with the pixel areas.

      Only software though. The more precise hardware MD is used on the 8000/9000 series.

      I do think so, affected years were listed as 04-08. That being said there's no way of knowing if a similar issue could happen to this gen, but the capacitor issue took years before it occurred.
