I know 'myprotein' doesn't have the best reputation but I figured for the price its worth a go, might be worth buying 2 to justify the shipping costs

$9.95 delivery, free with $125 order. $7.99 click & collect from collection point.

Don't forget 15% cashback via Cashrewards (not sure if it will void or not)

I'm pretty sure "30 Servings" equates to 1kg

I've managed to apply extra deals on this to get it as cheap as possible.

Looks like $26.99 is only when you select the 30 serving (1kg) whey option. I get the same $53.99 when selecting 60 as well.

      • I'm on 30 serving and it's showing the same $53.99

        • only choc and caramel are for sale in 1kg variant

          • @exit: yeh I did choc and caramel, and new customer all that, to follow the guide

  • +5

    No whey!

    • +1

      That's whey too cheap

      • +3

        This is the whey.

  • So the bars are free when it’s a new account?

  • +1

I manage to get 26.99 for one set, but when doubling i get $80+ :/

    • Only the protein stays at $26.99 per, bars not so much

      • Got it thanks!

  • +1

Not the best ratings on ProductReview.com https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/myprotein

    • Very offputting…stale product and slow and no delivery?

      • +1

High chance of getting short dated product, but usually fine to consume if you are ok with that.

      • What you expect when you're paying most likely cost price

  • -1

    Only for fatties.

    • Don't call my wife that

      • +1

        Ok Big Kev.

        • im excited!!!! 🤠

  • I bought 4 x 2kg. Strawb, cookies, carmel & choc.

6 pack of bars as well.

Should keep me going for a while.

    Thanks OP.

    • +2

If you are familiar with Myprotein, these are clearance items meaning that you WILL get 8kg of short dated protein, good luck speedrunning through that.

      • +2

She'll be right mate. 240 serves at 2 per day is 4 months.

Even if there is a couple of months left ill be right.

        Love cheap protein.. haha.

        • Love your attitude!

Two guilt-free milkshakes every day, can’t believe everyone isn’t doing it.

          • @Millikano: Because most protein powders taste like ass lol

            • +1

@exit: Some people are into that kind of thing.

      • +1

I'm still drinking protein that expired like over 12 months ago

It was like 150 for 2 kilos and I got it for 20 bucks through eBay on clearance and they still taste great!

I literally bought 40 kilos and that's what's kept me going the last few years and considering protein prices. I am very happy I did

        • +1

          This is the way..

        • same, but unflavoured

        • How did you find it on clearance on ebay? I use it a year after expiry and have no issues!! So sohunds like a good idea!

      • Recieved the other day. Best before 3/24. Gives me 5 months or so. Easy!!

  • Why don't they have a good rep?

    • +1

Price jack when doing 40% off and sometimes you get short dated product and it's not very clear that's what your receiving.

  • +1

This was a hard bargain to follow, it wasn't explained well.
I just ended up buying 6 bars for $7.99 delivery to a click-n-collect point, no protein. No coupon
Not bad for 6x 63g bars!

  • +1

Damn, no motivation to go to the gym anymore :(

    • +1

Just work out from home. Ever since my local gym increased the monthly fee I went out and bought a barbell and free weights from Gumtree. Rounded out with cardio work and calisthenics to remain motivated throughout the week.

      • Thanks mate, I need to start doing it too. Starting trouble.

        • +5

Yeah I think the motivation rapidly declines the longer you put it off during periods of inactivity. I didn't do any exercise for close to 2 years. Recently went back and saw rapid progress and felt much better. Keep at it!

    • At least u started at some point.
      I have yet to begin

  • Strawberry Casein is heavily discounted for those struggling to find something to add to cart.

How does Myprotein taste now? Bought them back in 2017 and found the taste to be extremely artificial and mixed very poorly. Have tried ON, Musashi and Amino Z so far.

    • I havent tasted thier flavored ones since 2018, as I buy unflovored most of the times from different vendors, but recently tried thier hokkaido milk protein and it tasted good. Not sure about other flavors

    • On par depending on flavour.

  • +2

You can buy anything you want, with free bars for new customers. They whey seems to be the thing you want to buy though, given its discounted.

Edit: I only got one 30 serve salted caramel, as not taking my chances getting short dated items from myprotein lol

    • Its crap how they sell almost expired products. Pathetic.

  • -4

Why would you blend Whey Isolate and Whey Concentrate? Sounds like a bargain bin product.

    • $26 not bad for 1KG, I guess the bars are for free? Plus 15% cashback makes it much less.

    • +2

Ever heard of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey? It's arguably the most popular protein powder. It's a blend of concentrate and isolate and certainly not a "bargain bin product".

      • -3

Is WPI not just WPC that has undergone further filtering? Other than price what is the advantage of WPC?
Why bother blending it? You aren't getting any nutritional benefit from it.

        • -1

          than price

          You literally just mentioned it

          • -1

@exit: Yes, if price is your main selling point then buy WPC. Why buy a blend?

            • @alphas: Okay so according to your one dimensional thinking you can only choose between protein purity or price, and finding a balance between the two doesn’t exist.

              • @exit: There is a reason they don't give an accurate % breakdown of the blends, it changes whenever they feel like it.

I prefer to know exactly what I am buying.

Do you buy a blend of full cream, low fat and no fat milk? No because it doesn't make sense to.

                • @alphas: ultimately it doesn’t matter as you can work it out from the % of protein on the nutrition label. An flavoured isolate is up to 87% and a flavoured WPC is usually 73%. You can easily use a linear chart to figure out the rest.

It’s pretty obvious that Optimum on their ‘primary
source isolate’ 100% whey uses something like 51% isolate and 49% concentrate based on their macros for example.

Fwiw my last order from MyProtein (arrived early this month) was over $200AUD and it took 4 weeks to be dispatched - I had to follow up multiple times kept getting told it was just processing and they were busy before they eventually acknowledged it was a processing issue and would have to manually fix it (ended up with two 200+ pending transactions on card for a while…).
Took a further 1.5 weeks for delivery :/. Their clear whey is unparalleled but man their customer service sucks… swear deliveries were quicker when they shipped from the UK.

  • +2

not even if they paid me….

  • The only whey is up, baby

  • Probably doing something wrong, but 1kg of protein powder (Strawberry) + the 6 bars are coming up at $53.99 for me before shipping

Same price if I do 2kg powder, but I don't need that much

    • +1

strawberry 1kg isnt on sale, only choc and caramel are for sale in 1kg variant

      • -1

        Choc caramel is A$184.99.

        • choc AND caramel, not choc caramel

          • @exit: That's pretty funny lol. Thanks

OP said Chocolate Caramel though? Either way it comes to $54.93 delivered in total for me with the protein bars. Not a great deal but may have been better yesterday

  • +1

Well, I can't speak for anyone else's experience, but my order was delivered today. Best before on the protein is 02/2024, so not too bad.

    • +1

Yep same. I did pay for express shipping, but still impressed

    • Flavour?

Would love some reviews posted here especially since Myprotein can be quite hit and miss in terms of flavours. Especially cookies and cream since most companies don't do it well (e.g. 'cream' flavoured without the cookies)

    • Can you comment on flavour? Have they improved the taste?

      • I don't have any previous experience woth this company, but ordered the chocolate. Tried it today with water…it's a thinner consistency than others powders I've tried in the past (or I used too much water lol) and flavour was entirely tolerable given it was made with water not milk. A little on the sweet side for me, but I've found that's usually the case with flavoured protein powders.

I also got the cookies and cream protein bars for my niece when she's working and she was surprised at how much she enjoyed them. She says they have a great fudgy consistency.

        • +1

I agree the bars are pretty good. I had both Choc + Salt flavour and Choc orange flavour

  • So.. I just received 5kg of protein powder that expired last month. What's my next point of call?

    • Wow that's horrid. Might want to contact their social media pages with photos.
