OH bike cleaner won't hurt your nano nuts

  • What is this for?

  • Bike or motorbike?

Might grab a big one to atleast try on the rims. Thanks OP!

Same same… Same stuff for both inside the bottle.
Pretty cheap - cheapest I've been able to find.

This is the bike bottle, but its the same stuff in the motorbike bottle. :)

Using it on my motorbikes and pushy's… Seems to be pretty good stuff for the money. Hand wash, foams up well and you dont actually need much. few sprays, let it soak in a little and wipe over, rinse, dry and get moving!

      Enjoy!

      • Thank you for that!

I was looking up the X3 chain clearer system but I'm not seeing anything if I'm able to jam a motorcycle chain in there.. πŸ˜… I have all the stands, brushes and sprays but I just am soo lazy to do the chain. I'm wondering if that product would work. Or if I need to do a rabbithole dive on Aliexpress because surely someone's made one for a motorcycle..

Edit: Damn, there's $6 cheap Ali-express knockoffs of that Muc Off X-3.. πŸ˜…

        • Just use degreaser for the chain. Whatever spray cans you get from your local SCA or Repco will be fine…
          Then wash your bike.
After you finishing washing, make sure you rinse well, and super important, relube your chain…
Im a fan of titanium drylubes for the chain, but each to their own. Just make sure the chain is within travel (tension) spec and tyre pressures are right, then ride the thing! :)

          What you ride btw?

Yeah, I bought all the foam stuff and cannon and I barely have time to get around to using it and cleaning the bike/car. Was trying to find a quick solution to clean/lube chain. I have many spares of the U-Chain brush but even that wouldn't beat that X-3 system if it worked with a motorcycle chain.. πŸ˜… There's a weird contraception on Ali for like $20 that does a similar job but is probably more tedious to set up (atlleast at first) than just putting it on a stand or wheel roller and using the u-brush/spray, wipe, lube etc.

I just use WD40 to loosen up the chain, can't remember what I use to lube the chain now though. I think Maxima, I went through a few brand phases over the last 15 years.. πŸ˜…

  • i’ve just been using the aldi spray n wipe cleaner for $2 and a can of super cheap degreaser for $2 for when i do the chain or have stubborn grease on the frame…. probably should just use the car wash products i have.

Don't the park tool folks say that kitchen dishwashing detergent is totally fine for washing bikes, or have I been smoking too much Monday morning crack? What's special about this stuff (the wash, not the crack) ? Can anybody comment from experience?

    • Big difference between "fine" and designed specifically for the application?

That said I think ozbargain should have a good DIY homebrew option..

  • I use dishwashing detergent because it is not acidic. Works well. I degrease the chain and use a bike chain cleaner that I got from AliExpress for peanuts. I was staggered how much the same tool costs online or in the shops here. When the chain is dry I lube it.
