Divinity is a MUST play if you like CRPGs

    • +8

      Canadian RPGs?

      • +14

Consumeallyourtime RPG I think it stands for

"The enemy is only three levels above me, this should be a cakewalk"

And the party was never seen again

      • +6

One troll on a bridge vs a party of 4? No worries!
        2 or 3 reloads later..

    • I disagree - hated that game. Voice acting was terrible, characters were terrible, bag space issues were a chore and combat was boring. Better off playing Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 if you want a more fun game in the same genre.

      • +3

Each to their own! I enjoyed the voiced dialogue and I think that's what Pillars was missing.
When (if I ever) complete BG3 I'll try again with POE. Is it required to finish 1 before 2 or are they seperate stories?

        • I've not played 2 yet, primarily because the big twist from POE1 apparently is revealed in the opening minutes.

      • +1

Pillars 1 was good, wasn't a fan of Pillars 2.

        D:OS 1 and 2 are amazing games

    • Missed out on the Steam sale so reluctant to get it with GOG given how painful it is to use Steam Workshop mods.

  • +5

Everyone needs to pay Dragon's Dogma

    • Agreed. For anyone who wants it on the go (and doesn't have a steam deck / ayaneo / rog ally) the switch version is very good and goes on sale a lot too!

      • I played it first on PC. 60fps is nice. But I also own the switch port. Runs surprisingly well and not far off the console versions, which are still locked at 30fps.

DD2 looks amazing also. Can't wait!

    • +1

      $4.79 specifically

    • I got onto this because I was trying to scratch that soulslike itch. It's nothing like Souls but is great nonetheless.

  • +2

Paid $65 for Divinity Original Sin 2 a week ago after finishing BG3. Ah well

    • At least it went to a good cause.

    • +2

Worth every penny still at $65

  • +3

Metro Exodus for that price is really good, if you have a good PC it's probably in the top 10 games to try out with the enhanced edition and the story and immersion is amazing.

    • +2

Incredible games and books. Spare a thought for Dmitry Glukhovsky rotting in jail for eight years. Heroic, brave guy!

  • +1

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is absolutely brilliant. Played it on PS1 on release. Started a great franchise.

  • +1

Hellblade was basically a walking sim with some basic hack and slash but I loved it. Such a great experience and amazing audio.

Might grab it again to play it in higher quality than my original PS4 play through.

  • +3

D:OS1 and D:OS2. The games you buy for when you're waiting for Baldur's Gate 3 to come down in price. The D:OS games are spectacular - can't recommend them enough.

Same with Metro:Exodus and the absolutely awesome Disco Elysium. XCom 2 is also amazing…

Buy all 5 of these games and thank me later once you wonder where 300 hours of your life have gone and that you'd happily lose 200 more just to play them again.

  • Currently sitting around 80 hours on Baldur's Gate 3 working through 2 different character playthroughs. Is it worth me buying DOS:2 or is it just a worse version of BG3?

    • +3

Different mechanics, More simplified imo. E.g. Characters has armor and magic armor. Remove them to start doing damage to their health etc.

If you enjoy BG3 you will enjoy DOS2.

      • +1

        I'll grab it, thanks!

  • For anyone that loves stealth, Thief series (1-3) is the pinnacle
