Been watching for a while, been tossing up between this and TCL 75C845, but at $1799 with Costco 90 day return policy I figure this will do.

Not a lot of reviews, but below is an Australian site

  • Lookslike a good buy.

Does mini led better than oled?

    • +3

You're thinking micro led. Mine led essentially mean lots of backlight zones.
Being a Chinese clone telly (don't let the name fool you). Who knows know, best check it out in person.

check the review from OP, The panel is native 50/60Hz, a big NO to me as a gamer.

      • +1

The specs says it has 2 x HDMI 2.1 ports that support 120Hz

  • Good if you want ambilights

The Philips boxes for this are expensive and generally not as good

    • I wonder what will be the alternative tv that comes with ambilight…

      • +3

Philips have been doing Ambilight for 19 years and no one else has bothered yet (that I know of)

      • Never seen one

      • DIY option

        • Yea, I've used raspberry pi to create one with hyperbian

But I found its unstable, I need to keep rebooting it

How old do you have to be to remember when Philips was a good brand for TVs?

    • +2

      At least 40

    • +2

      Boomer age

    • +2

Philips for pretty much anything consumer now is just a licensed name on otherwise cheap product.

      • Wasn't aware of this, I thought they were still a good brand! Good to know…

        • There are a few brands like this these days. They aren’t all necessarily junk… but definitely not what they used to be.
Polaroid, Blaupunkt & JVC also from memory.

I experienced ambilight on an older LCD tv by Philips. It really is a game changer for movies, however the display itself was very average, I have heard much the same throughout their years selling TVs.

I think ambilight is worthy of consideration, but only through the add on box/light bars you can purchase, the panel is just too much of a compromise.

  • Philips 32” Pixel Plus CRT.

  • Wonder if this has as update for Android TV 12 in the plans…
