Motorola Edge 30 Neo $269.10, Edge 30 Pro (Single Sim) $444.60, Edge 30 Ultra $629.10 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi

AFTERDARKSEPT23

Some really low prices on these 3 Motorola Edge 30 series phones with the code and cheaper than some of the more recent deals. I think the Neo is really good value for under $300 and still has years of updates left. The Pro and Ultra are good too, except the Pro is only single SIM sadly.

I own the Ultra myself so I can answer any questions.

Hardly now. They purchased Motorola 9 years ago ;)

Now we know they are Lenovo. People didn't realise the evil empire before.

      • Damn, I was at motorola when this happened. We were all so worried what would happen. Just feels like yesterday.

    • Was thinking of buying an Oppo or even Huawei but now that I know Motorola is own by Lenovo, I think I might just buy it.

I need a new phone, the touchscreen on my X3 NFC stopped working, but i'm very torn between edge 40 and edge 30 ultra, really hate that none has expandable storage these days, though, and the 30 ultra is missing a couple of things like esim and not great camera reviews… I also think the G84 could be a good choice for me, but not available here in Australia yet, it seems… Anyone has any other suggestion, possibly?

    Thanks!

Need a good deal on the S23 Ultra. My P30 Pro primary camera does not focus anymore. Damn.

    • galaxy a54 from the Bing lee deal for like under 350 from bing lee deal including cashback, only until 9am tho

      • Only the 17% cashback (cap $70) is available until 9am.

The 15% (cap $50) Westpac bonus already ended.

    • I'm in a similar boat, I have the 8gb X3 pro love the phone and battery life. Problem is my finger print sensor is dying and playing up and think I'll need a new phone soon. I've been looking at the ultra for the price, but damn the X3 pro is still a solid phone.

      • still on x2 pro going strong, though I can see it's getting old,but damn 512gb,hard to go back to 256 with no card slot

  • How long will these get software updates?

Be careful with motorola. I bought mine in december and have not got any updates, security updates included. They told me if i wanted them i had to reflash my phone.

      • Be careful with motorola

        Um, excuse me?

      • They told me if i wanted them i had to reflash my phone.

Where did you buy your phone that it requires reflashing? My Ultra is on Android 13.

        • I bought my phone from JBHIFI.
I have had multiple conversations with their tech support and they told me they don't know why I'm not getting updates and even blamed it on my carrier. (Who I rang and confirmed had nothing to do with it)
I even reached out to the "techs" on reddit and they said the same thing

If you've got a solution Id love to hear it

      • Something doesn't sound right with that.

Have a G82 and its now on Android 13.

Neo is good value. No regrets, not a flagship but just a well-rounded phone that will not disappoint.

    • +6

      honestly this constant race for

      SNAPDRAGOn 8gen1…Gen 2..

      is stupid

95 percent of users, are using their phones for photos, browsing, nfc, watching videos a SD 880 can do that just fine,we are just in a stupid race where they can say Ohh it's got 8 cores at 2ghz even though ur phones likely never to use that unless ur gaming

      • +2

You're right in that most people don't need it, but there's also 3 other areas where it benefits:

Battery life, due to efficiency and race to the finish,
Heating, which lead to longer longevity,
        Camera quality and smoothness.

  • Bought the Ultra from a previous deal; Android 13 was available. Comes with a 125W charger.
While the phone comes with a slim clear cases, I wanted something more substantial. Finding any cases locally was a pain, but Aliexpress has plenty.

How's the camera, is it really that bad? some posts i'm reading also mention lags while recording the first 5 seconds in videos etc, are you experiencing any similar issues? Really tempted, thanks

      • Camera is decent and does the job. Going into the ultra-res 200MP mode is unnecessary. I don't have the 5 second lag issue.

      • It's not pixel/apple quality

As long as it's not overly dark, the photos are fine..my kid has a neo fusion i think and their photos look great..

considering 99.99 percent of ppl will be sending it on facebook or instagram who compress them anyway it's pointless to sayt…

The video recordings a bit shit, gets hot after 15 mins of recording and throttles

    • Have you tested the 50W wireless charging? Have used 15w wireless charging on my Samsungs for years, curious if 50w wireless generates more heat or not.

      • My wife uses it.. very fast like literally 10-15min 80% fully charged but the phone feels v hot… googled said it is normal for fast charging

Tempted! But I have too many cheap phones already🤦‍♂️

Apparently comes with a 68w charger in the box which is rare nowadays.

The Pro ships with a 30W charger in Australia, despite the Neo shipping with a 68W.

    ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Safety first. As someone who had their right arm blown off, you should appreciate that

  • Motorola edge 30 Pro is IP52 rated for water resistance meaning only splashproof?

What are you planning to splash it with?

I got my 1st Sept Security Update last night, without needing to reset my phone using rescue tool
30 Neo, great phone great price (yes updates can be a problem)
    oppo sux

  • So happy great deal got the Edge 30 pro for the boy, thanks op.

  • Only if the Neo had a 5000 mah battery

    • -1

It’s not the size of your mAh, but what you do with it, that counts

      • +1

I agree that Optimization for that phone by moto is on the spot. But there is a limit to which you can stretch a 4000 mah battery on a 120Hz OLED display.

  • After a disappointing Pixel 8 announcement, I want this Edge 30 Neo but JB stopped selling :(

    • A few JBs are reporting 1 stock but one quoted $540 as their "best price"…
