  • $9.95 shipping to Sydney

  • cheap and tempting for pickup…

  • whats the drive inside? and if this is better than wd green 3tb for NAS?

    • just spend bit more to get WD Red

      • red is $50 more ie 30% more :(

      • Not really worth the extra if you're just using it for a bit of extra storage.

  • 5700 RPM only for a usb 3 device.

    • Speed: 5700 RPM

whew, did'nt see that. Thanks for pointing that out. Will avoid.

    • I prefer 5?00 RPM drives in external enclosures for heat reasons, I doubt you would notice the difference even if using USB3.

      • Mmmm good point. Might increase reliability.

  • Any issue with ripping out the drives from these?
    Obviously voids warranty.

    • Megabuy has WD Greens for $151 ATM. Might be a better option.

  • Sure enough, I have been monitoring similar, however, given $168.95 x 3tb when 1 year ago today these bottomed out, were going @120: There is no way I'd pay prices today, for technology which, supposedly, has come to some halt. It is mind boggling when prices for such are supposed to move downward, year following each year. traditionally it has has been like a law.

And what of this being explained by 'contract pricing': we are well into the new year, right. Surely those would be expired by now…?? Incredulous.

  • MSY have a 3tb Seagate for the same price, if you live in Brisbane area then you can pickup - http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=9181

  • Looks quite large…WD is better design IMO
