    I’ve seen some comparison videos on youtube where the sigma 18-50 performed better, but it doesn’t have stabilisation. The sigma was $600 on sale from digidirect when I bought it. The sony 16-55 performed the best but its $1,800 and no stabilisation either. I went with the sigma and the images are brilliant. However if your shooting lots of handheld video, the tamron would be better due to the stabilisation.

  I've owned this lens for 2 years on my a6400 and it has essentially replaced most of my other lenses. Hugely versatile and the stabilisation is really neat. Excellent addition for those who are looking to upgrade. AMA

  This is the best all round lense for Sony APSC e mount cameras. The only downside is related to the weight and the length of the lense.

  Equivalent to 25.5-105mm on full-frame cameras

  At f/4.2…not that you would use on a full-frame camera given crop obviously.

  Sorry if I'm being pedantic. But calling it high-speed is a little misleading, IMO.

  The best run & gun lens for vlogging & videos! Vibration control, quiet when zooming, insanely close focal length. 25-105mm equivalent it gives you enough to work with. ohh and f 2.8!!!!

  only downside is size & weight. not practical on gimbals depending on your camera. but you dont really need a gimbal with catalyst browse and a decent VC lens like this.
