          • @Deep15: Just received a text for delivery on 26th

  • Does anyone know how to have the tv turn on when it detects a hdmi signal and turn off when it no longer detects an hdmi signal? I used this all the time with my appletv on my old Hisense. Quite annoying to have to constantly turn the tv on and off with its remote.

    • +3

Should be in the HDMI-CEC settings somewhere?

      From their manual:

      External devices control (CEC)
Use this function to search for CEC devices connected
to the HDMI sockets in your TV and enable auto power
on and auto standby between the TV and CEC devices.
Also, enable CEC to connect a soundbar using ARC/
      eARC.

      Enabling or Disabling CEC
      1. Press on the remote control, select (Settings) > Channels & Inputs > Inputs > External devices control (CEC) and press OK/Right to enter.
      2. Select the HDMI control option, and press OK to > toggle between on or off.
      3. Press to return to the previous menu.

      Using Auto Power On
Enables the TV to automatically power on when you
power on a CEC device (e.g. DVD) with the device’s
remote. Press OK to turn it on to enable this function.

      Using Auto Standby
Enables all CEC devices to automatically go to the
standby mode when you turn off the TV with the TV
remote. Press OK to turn it on to enable this function.
Note: The CEC functions depend on the devices
connected and it is possible that some devices may not
interoperate correctly when connected to this TV.

      • That’s it, I thought I had gone into every menu. Thank you

Finally got a text, scheduled for next Tues (CBR).

  • +3

TV received here in Perth :) Received two text messages, updates on place in the queue and live tracking for delivery.
Now trying to figure out safest way to mount the leg stands…

    • Good point - how is everyone who’s planning on using the leg/feet stands, planning on putting them on?

      • +1

I fitted mine to the outside position. They have 3x bolts for each side, top two look like they aren't threaded but screwed in ok.
We laid the TV very carefully screen down on our lounge to fit them.

        • Yea I’m thinking same.

Lay it dow, screen down on carpet . Then carefully , gently lift up the end to attach the legs. Then carefully lift up to stand?

      • +1

We left the TV in the box and attached the legs to the outside holes. This is how we did it..

        • removed styrofoam from one side and then lifted that side up while still supported by the styrofoam part on the other side.
        • slowly attached the leg for the side without the styrofoam
        • removed the styrofoam from the other side and lifted enough to get the other leg in while slightly putting weight on the other leg

The TV is enormous and quality far exceeds what I expected. Its an absolute bargain, incredible.
Picture quality is much improved over the 75P8M we also have.

        • +1

Thanks for sharing - might give this a try first … sounds safer than me putting the screen on the floor lol

        • +1

My TV was delivered & received this morning (Brisbane) !! The box looks pretty big haha.

I will try to unbox and set up later tonight. Thinking i'll cut the box open so the outer box is not there and just try the "lift up with styrofoam attached" method you mentioned for the leg attachment.

          Excited!!!!!

        • +1

@TravHall - your suggestion has worked perfectly! Thanks :)

TV is setup (albeit on the floor for now) , standing on its own two feet looking pretty :)

          • +1

@spikiii: Good to hear it man..

I was impressed with the packaging by TCL, very well protected and the screen cover, pretty well thought out.
Options for where to put the stand feet is a bonus too.

            Enjoy it!!!

Got the text, confirmed delivery Wednesday 25/10

  • +5

Received mine today! In terms of cash back for those of you who haven't received yet, I noticed there was an option called "My product has not been delivered", when you click it, it shows this message:

"You may continue to submit your claim but it will not be reviewed until the serial number is provided. You must send your serial number by 11.59pm AEST 31st October 2023 in order to claim your bonus."

So if you haven't got it yet, might be a good idea to submit your invoice and then upload serial later.

  • +1

TV arrived and setup last night. I have to say, for the price, this TV is fantastic and bloody huge! So glad I jumped on this deal!

  • Hey guys, I am a little confused about the cash back. Terms and conditions state that purchase must be made by 31 of October, whereas claims are accepted by the end of November. My understanding is that purchase was made at the time when payment was made. Therefore we all should be safe in terms of cash back. I guess all TV's should be delivered by 30.11. Am I wrong here?

    • +1

On the cashback link (https://www.tcl.com/au/en/cashback-offer-2023), this is stated: Step 2 Within twenty-one (21) calendar days of the date of Qualifying Purchase, visit www.tclpromotions.com.au using a compatible browser, and fully complete and submit the online claim form.

As @zubin3333 mentioned, you could submit the invoice now and the serial number later.

    • +4

If you go to https://www.tcl.com/au/en/promotions and follow the links etc. it'll take you to the make a claim page -> https://tclpromotions.com.au/step1

There's t&c's listed and on the page if you click the link to "The Offer" (https://tclpromotions.com.au/the-offer) - in there it also states:

To enter, claimants must go online to www.tclpromotions.com.au and follow the prompts to the online claim form. Claimants must then follow a 3-step process:
Step 1 Complete details of the Qualifying Purchase which includes (but not limited to) uploading an image of the product serial number and a legible receipt showing the purchase date, TCL model purchased, price, and place of purchase.
Step 2 Complete personal details which includes (but not limited to) full name, email address, delivery address, mobile number, and DOB.
Step 3 Participate in a five (5) question customer survey.

All claims must be made within 21 calendar days from the date of purchase as shown on the receipt. Claims will not be accepted after this time.

Once the claim has been validated, you will receive an email letting you know if your claim has been approved. You will then receive your Gift with Purchase via email within twenty-one (21) days of confirmation of the claim being approved.

I've submitted mine before receiving the TV now (thanks to @zubin3333 above for comments) - and you do have the option to select "i've not received my tv yet", which once selected throws a propt to tell you your claim won't be finalised until a pic of the serial is received - https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/118285/107511/untitled…

      Please note
You may continue to submit your claim but it will not be reviewed until the serial number is provided. You must send your serial number by 11.59pm AEST 31st October 2023 in order to claim your bonus.

      • thanks, submitted, do you know how to send the serial number later?

        • no idea yet - i think once claim is reviewed and accepted, they send you another 'confirmation email' … i'm guessing in that there will be details to submit the serial number proof?

          • +2

@spikiii: Pretty close - I submitted mine on Saturday without the SN photo as delivery is due tomorrow. Just got an email saying claim is invalid due to no SN, and has a link to 'Resubmit documents' which you would use to upload the photo once you have it.

Only says you need to complete the claim by 21 Nov 2023.

            • +1

@djkelly69: @djkelly69: FYI - I used the link in their email to us and resubmitted a photo with my serial number from the bottom corner of my TV yesterday night and have just got a confirmation email from TCL that my claim is now approved :)

Your TCL Gift with Purchase claim has been approved.

Your Gift will be provided within twenty-one (21) days of confirmation of the claim being approved.

If you have any questions please Contact Us.

          • @spikiii: got the same email 2day, even though i sent a pic of the screen showing the serial as i couldn't find the sticker on the back & it's now wall mounted..

Is there a physical sticker somewhere?

      • Thanks guys. Still waiting for the TV but completed the Cashback without serial number for now. Nearly missed out! Cheers 🥂

  • Got the TV delievered in Perth yesterday, super happy with the product and QLS delivery service. Can anyone recommend a good wall mount for that size of TV ? Most mounts I have seen in this thread are not for TV's over 80'.

    • I used a cheapie from Amazon, rated for 60kg so no probs. Most wall mounts are multi fit VESA.

I posted the Amazon link in this thread around a week ago.

Glad people are getting their orders fulfilled and the "scam of the century" hysteria is dying down!

    • -4

Haha did someone say scam, what??? where??? 🤣
Hysteria and madness, what a change 7 days can make for the nervy ones.

  • +1

Finally got a text message this morning for delivery on the 27th.

Surely there can't be too many people left waiting to get a delivery date now?

    • Still waiting in Newcastle 🙄

      • Ouch. Hopefully you get it soon!

  • +3

Cashback claim just approved! Didn't expect this fast. Hope everyone else get their soon.

    • That is awesome! When did you submit it?

      • +1

        Last Wednesday when delivered.

        • They kept to their 3 business days timeframe which is good.

    • +1

Just got mine approved, submitted Friday approved Monday :)

      • +1

Same here! That was super fast.

  • random question for those who have received and setup the stand for theirs…

did you mount the legs on the far outer holes or the closer middle ones?

    • +1

closer ones for me cause we don't have a long enough tv cabinet. I think it's best to use the outer ones as it will probably be more stable. I'll be wall mounting my tv soon so for me it was only temporary to use the legs, not super stable but does the job.

      • yea that's what I was thinking too.. just wanted confirmation on my gut feel. With such a large screen, the middle ones look less stable.

Cheers, I'll stick to the outer wider ones then!

        • +1

I choose the outer one because the official image use the outer one which seems more stable and balance

    • I used the inner ones, seems stable enough to me. But the TV is at greater risk of being walked into without a table in the way…

  • Curious as to everyone’s thoughts on the tv’s performance, picture and sound quality?
For the price it’s absolutely great but I am noticing some pretty sluggish response times when accessing apps and scrolling through menu options.
With regards to the picture quality, again it’s not incredible but it is nice to view it on a tv this big. I am noticing some blurry pictures and noise/grain. I have tried using the noise reduction settings which helps a little but it’s still there.

    • Yeah it is sluggish but I thought the picture quality was good, have you tried something high bit-rate like ultra HD Blu-ray?

    • Happy with the colour and picture quality, but I do notice some lag sometimes when playing 4k video

      • +1

Using a TV box like shield TV should solve the problem

    • +1

The answer is an Apple TV 4K second hand off Marketplace and a high quality verified HDMI cable.

    • yep - i've plugged an ATV 4k and Shield Pro into mine (different streaming apps) - and the sluggishness is gone cos navigation and whatnot handled through the tv/media boxes.

Pic quality is pretty good for the price we've paid and the size of the display too

    • Hi, Im new to smart tv's as im coming from an old v10 viera plasma (which im still trying to learn how to use), but if a smart tv seems sluggish and runs on an android os, why cant we just download an app like crap cleaner and clear the cache / free up memory every now and then on this bad boy??. Interested to know if anyone has tried this or as this would definitely be the oz bargain way of cutting cost cost and using those funds on towards some upcoming amazon liquor deals? (instead of buying a separate smart device).

  • Ive got a few blue spots on mine, assuming dead or stuck pixels. Bit frustrating after the wait to get it

    • aww that sucks - That's part the reason that even though mines on the floor for now, I plugged it in, set it up to test out etc.

Hope LEA / TCL get you sorted with a fix

  • Finally TV is received and installed.

Any luck in setting up airplay? I couldn't find anything in settings

    • it's a Google TV though - it's Chromecast natively?

      • I thought it had airplay as well

  • +1

got the tv delivered today, pretty sweet

  • +1

Finally got mine in Newcastle 😄
I started the cashback process with the my tv hasn't been delivered option. There doesn't seem to be a way to finish it online. Do you just reply to the cashback confirmation email with the serial number picture?

@spurf - They (TCL Promotions) will send you an email to state:

Thank you for submitting your claim information for the TCL GIFT WITH PURCHASE 2023 PROMOTION.

After going through the validation process, unfortunately we have found that your claim does not meet the claim requirement:

Reason: If no image of the Product Serial Number is provided, your claim will be deemed invalid. Please take photo of the product as proof of serial number.

You just need to click the button in the email —> it takes you to a page to enter your reference number —> then provides you a place to upload your serial proof pic —> submit.

I got my "you claim is successful" email a day after submitting the serial pic via above mentioned process.

Hope that helps clear it up.

      • Thanks for that. Was in the middle of replying and just got that email!

  • +2

Just received my TV today, cracking deal, thanks OP.

Question for those who have successfully setup Apps on the TV.

I'm unable to install the "10 Play" and "ABC iview" App on the TV. I can find them, but when I go to install I get "Your device isn't compatible with this version".

I've been successful installing and using "9Now", "7Plus" and "SBS on Demand" Apps.

So far I've update OS/software on the TV, cleared all the App data and cache, ensured the location/timezone is correct and I'm using a google email (account) to log into TV (saw that using homail account has created problems for some people) and I'm no using a VPN to change location.

Has anyone else had this problem or could someone check to see if this is a unique case for me?

    Has anyone fixed this issue?

  • Got the tv and mounted on the wall today. It is very good. I am happy with it. Just wondering where is the serial number?

  • Just discovered this when looking for dead pixels:
    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/151893/107653/20231026…

Looks like a defect in the light diffuser sadly. You can't see it from front on but pretty obvious when looking from one of my side couches. Have contacted TCL to see if they will do a swap.

  • Anyone else have issues wirelessly casting from a Win 11 PC (laptop) to the TCL TV ? I got all the latest updates on the TV and laptop but get stuck with the Waiting for screen message on the TCL TV every time I try to cast to it. Tried every trick on google and YouTube, no luck. I can cast from my Android phone to the TV no issues at al.

    • Not all contents can be casted. Especially those have copyright protection

  • +1

Big thumbs up to Leading Edge Appliances. Got mine. Great deal and smooth buying experience.

  • Lol QLS are hopeless, 1 guy turned up and told me to help him carry the TV, I have a back problem but had to help anyway. 😅

    • +1

That’s crazy. I thought it was slated to be a two man job for them?

      • He said that the other guy called in sick, quite strange that they would let one guy deliver such big white and brown goods

  • -2

So after all the drama, I thought I'd check in on a general consensus - was this the best or worst OzB deal this year???

To all the sooks that went quiet very quickly as the sets arrived, the neg nancy button is waiting for you :)

  • +1

Now, all I need is a good soundbar deal to go with this!

  • Can someone tell me what will be the process if I missed the delivery as I had to go to hospital for an emergency. Nobody contacted me afterwards. I called QLS and they told me to contact leading edge appliances. Anyone in similar situation?

    • +1

      @Deep15 - based on LEA's email previously:

QLS will not be able to leave your TV in a safe spot and the delivery must be accompanied by a signature. If you miss your delivery slot and re-delivery is required, >additional charges will apply and must be paid prior to re-delivery occurring – this is payable to Leading Edge Appliances and not QLS.

Looks like you'd need to reach out to Leading Edge Appliances. ( [email protected] )

    • I didn't miss it but their delivery schedule was playful for me so I borrowed a van and picked mine up from their depot.

  • Has to call the TCL number to finally get the CB card. Very slow process, but in the end all good.

    • is it a digital card? have not received mine yet

      • Yes, need the True Rewards app to load
