      • Sorry I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean.

How did you actually find out the OP was associated with Leading Edge? And if it's sockpuppeting why is the post still not removed?🤔🤔🤔

        • +1

Mods aren't going to tell you, so other sockpuppets can know and get around it 😂

        • Would hope it's AI flagging and ozb is that advanced. If read through OPs comments, you may get that advocacy feeling.

        • And if it's sockpuppeting why is the post still not removed?🤔🤔🤔

Due to the post's popularity, we have kept it published as we have done in similar situations in the past.

      • Hey @hamza23, do you want to try and get in touch with OP and seek for clarification? As they are banned, I assume no way to communicate.

    Grabbed one, lets see…

    Any recommended wall mount solutions?
    (Rendered brick)

    • I just grabbed 1 from Amazon. Only cost $36 for a tilting Vesa wall mount. The 1's I looked at could handle 60kg & this TV only weighs 30kg.

      Plenty of options. I grabbed this below;

Mounting Dream Tilt TV Wall Mount Bracket for 37-70 Inches TVs, TV Mount with VESA up to 600x400mm, Fits 16", 18", 24" Studs and Loading Capacity 132 lbs, Low Profile and Space Saving MD2268-LK-04 https://amzn.asia/d/bX2TWVW

      • Linked: VESA/TV Hole Pattern: 200x100mm, 200x200mm, 300x200mm, 200x300mm, 300x300mm, 400x200mm, 400x300mm, 400x400mm, 500x300mm, 600x400mm.

TV: VESA wall mount type, 600mm x 300mm

I placed order already, but now I realize this might not mount.

        • It's a multi fit, I got mine the other day & it has plenty of hole positions to choose from.
It gives an X & Y measurement which includes wot is needed, basically the max is 600 wide & the vertical can be anywhere from 100-400, if I read it correctly..

Should be fine, worst case, Amazon returns are quite easy..

          • @Bunsen: the listings I see on amazon for tv Mounts are for TV's smaller than 80'. Would that be an issue? My understanding of the 600x300 fit is the same as you mentioned I believe it's a range, but still unsure that it will be suitable for a 85' tv.

            • @kitebud: I figure it's more for the weight rating, the specs say this TV only weighs 30kg & the mount can handle 60kg.
AFAIK, the VESA mount is an industry standard, so long as the bolt pattern aligns, it should be good. Guess I'll find out soon enough when the TV arrives.

    Price is $2427 now

    • still shows $1197 for me

      • It went to $2427 and then back to $1197.

  • May be the price error ?

  • Got one just before price changed to $2427 now.
Their homepage still shows $1097 though

  • Does it support airplay 2 or airplay at all?

    Couldn't find any info online.

      • +1

To the negger, if you have evidence that mirroring/casting from a recent iPhone or iPad to this series TV cannot be done, please provide it. I have provided evidence that it can be done.

    • Went to Harvey Norman today. The C745 TV had Airplay 2 on the yellow card under the TV but the next-door P745 did not. I asked a salesperson whether the P745 supported Airplay 2. He opened a web page and told me that it looked like the C745 did, but not the P745.

      • All good. Thanks for checking.
Already placed the order for P745 and TV is good price for 85 inch.
May be I'll buy an Apple TV if it doesn't have airplay function.

  • price is now more than double….
might end up being a scam

Either ozbargain community helped newly established retailer to kick-off their operations or it's a fraud. In modern world where everything is on demand, to speed up and automate processes, companies do not do any due diligence, in this example, if fraud, TCL just added random website into "where to buy" list and got ppl trust. Similar with godaddy, domain registrant, they do not check potentially ABN number provided (with like 20 random businesses under that ABN) and if's legit. Or in the end this not fraud.

  • still showing $1197

  • I am surprised this still in stock

  • Still in stock but sounds dodge.

  • Would this be good for PS5 gaming?

    • +1

yeah its 120hz with HDMI 2.1

      • At 4k or 1080p only?

        • +1

          2k only i think

          • @Qazxswec: Is it worth it then for gaming to play at 2k or should I get a different TV? Thanks.

            • +1

@sammysamsam: i don't know a whole lot about the subject, but from what i do know, i don't think 4k 120hz is going to be achievable on ps5, not realistically anyway, i think in most cases there will be either a 4k 60hz option or a 1080p 120hz option, so this tv would be ok if you wanted 120hz gaming i guess, whether you prefer higher fidelity or higher frame rate is a personal choice i guess

Seems the deal is back on. Just purchased one.

Looks like the company is legit, but new. Don't think they'll have these in stock, might be a direct warehouse order to your house.

It's looks like a shopify cart, so won't worry about card security. Let's see if the order comes through.

Their Terms say this - "We reserve the right to reject any order you place with us for any reason whatsoever. If we reject your order, we will attempt to notify you using the e-mail address or contact phone number you have given us with the order. Your credit or debit card will normally not be charged if we reject an order, but we will process a refund if the charge has been made against your card. Refunds or reversals can only be made against the card used in the initial transaction."

      Another undeclared store rep?

      • I've got nothing to do with them. I'm just waiting for delivery.

  • Any thoughts on a suitable soundbar to go with this so that both Firestick and PS5 can be connected to the soundbar using Arc?

    • Using optical out of the tv and into a soundbar/receiver is always an option if you don’t want to use ARC. I have old but good stereo / receiver and this works well!

  • Anything smaller for a small apartment? I got tcl fridge recently. Works great

  • price now up at $1,795.00 - and no longer on their front page banner as a special

    • So, having seen the normal price, I feel more like a price error that entered 1 twice.

  • Has anyone got a confirmation email sent to them of the order?

    • +1

yes, confirmation email was sent right away. then another email a few seconds later with the GST tax invoice. I placed my order less than 30 min after this deal was posted.

    • +4

Yes received it and when they do come through with the goods, I'll definitely head to this store first before others when in the market for the next purchase.

I never doubted this deal and just happy their communication until now has been on point.

    • :O does that mean this is legit sale~! amazing bargain - this is what ozbargain is for~!!!

    • I got the email too @~6:30pm

  • Me too. Ordered at midday

  • I got the same email as above this evening… a better sign than nothing at all I guess!

  • -1

Now I understand why JB hi fi, TGG or Harvey Norman couldn't open the leading-edge appliances website when we tried to price match. I tried to open the website from my work computer and couldn't open the website as it has been blocked by the IT watchdog.

  • +1

Depending on how you look at it, they might be buying time to clear the funds. I guess this will be unknown till someone actually receives TV.

    • +1

Since they mentioned TCL Australia in the email, likely someone will contact TCL to confirm

      • +1

        Will do

        • +1

This deal has been more interesting than reading a book or movie haha … some drama, some detective, and hopefully a happy ending!
Thanks mate, let the rest of us know how you go.

    • -2

Fair call and worth the check in the background, cheers

  • -1

Isn’t it easy for someone in NSW can physically go to their shop in and check if they are legit?

  • +10

I too got the email above, and thought I'd reply with an order cancellation and refund request - half because I really dont need another TV (I know, turn in my OzB membership and see myself out) but also half to see if they would honour it and put the concerns of any of you to rest! Give that membership back!

Within 5 mins they confirmed they would refund the full amount (minus 3% merchant fees for credit card payment, around $35) and immediately afterwards, the refund was processed and cleared.

    • +1

Thanks a lot, this makes me feel much better

    • +1

What do you mean “minus 3%”? A refund should be the full amount you paid

      • +1

It is a change of mind refund, they don't need to accept it so they can set their own terms if they do.

        • -1

He says merchant fees. There are No merchant fees. It’s a refund

          • -3

@sash213: They are the merchant, they set the fees. It obviously takes them time (and therefore costs them money) to arrange the refund.

            • -3

@djkelly69: It says credit card payment. Stop acting like you know. They shouldn’t have withheld anything

        • +1

that is correct. the seller doesn't have to give you a refund if you change your mind in the first place. As an online merchant myself, I can confirm that we get fees to receive payments but also to refund payments, that's how credit card companies make their money!

        • +1

Not sure what are the rules these days, maybe they changed, but Stripe used to not charge fees for refunds. They use stripe I believe.

Update: Yes, just checked, now Stipe is not giving back fees, mainly driven by banks and payment networks (Visa, Mastercard).

    • -1

Thanks for taking one for the OzB team, appreciate the info.

  • received the TV from JB, overall the picture quality is good, but the display is not very bright even on 100% brightness

    • -2

I'm okay with average brightness, I usually set brightness to between 50%-70% on my TV's.

What about fast moving action, any 4K sports or gaming you can comment on?

Would be great to hear your feedback on the features and modes, 4K HDR and Dolby Vision working ok with streaming sites?
What TV are you comparing it to?

  • +22

Okay for everyone concerned, I've just contacted a representative from the Leading Edge Group.
This was via a telephone number not connected with the leadingedgeappliances.com.au website, to check on legitimacy.

They have confirmed that the website is a business connected to the Leading Edge Group and the online site has been running since January 2023.
They received an email from me that I sent last night and were going to reply when I called.

It is a legitimate site and started out working with companies such as Westinghouse and Electrolux.
They have increased companies they participate with to now include TCL, Ninja, Hisense etc.

I've contacted TCL and they have confirmed the cashback promotion was received and that Leading Edge Appliances & website are legitimate and part of the cashback program.

Not sure what else needs to be checked on this one, however all is pointing to a great new local online site that are playing in a space that the OzB followers will be using more in the future. What an awesome deal to kick things off… can't wait to receive this monster 85".

Hey guys, what's the story with our TVs?

Any idea when they are going to get delivered?

    • +3

They said in email that orders processing would be happening till Friday, whatever that means. Probably re-typing orders received on typewriter and sending those papers to TCL, haha.

    • -2

We just purchased an awesome 85" on the weekend at an awesome price.. let's give them some time to sort through the huge response this deal would have attracted. They were upfront in the email they didn't have to send. I'm waiting patiently.

Though I'm as excited as everyone else here to take delivery of this TV.

Still pinching myself how good this deal was.

  • Anyone know how to fix a sound bar delay? Got this TV from Jb earlier this week, my sound bar is the Samsung 930b, it always have a sound delay when I first play a video. If I pause and resume the video then it’s all good but still annoying. Any solution ? Thanks

    • Perhaps try a different input and see if anything changes? E.g. if you're using HDMI try an optical in?

    Received email:

    Dear Customers

Great news! We have worked hard to process all orders this week and can confirm that all customer orders will be able to be fulfilled and we have sent all of the orders to TCL now for them to allocate stock.

    So, what next?

TCL will allocate stock to each order and will authorise QLS to begin the shipment of your order. QLS will be in contact next week to book in a delivery day with customers. QLS will not be able to provide a tracking number as it is a door-to-door service - so the day they book in will be the day they arrive.

OMG, literally only 1 star reviews )))

      • +3

This is QLS's chance to get some runs on the board and correct the past issues.

For delivery companies it's rare for people to take delivery and write positive or good review. IMO most of the time people tend to direct positive feedback towards the product and forget about the courier company unless they have problems.

My guess, we are only seeing one side of the story and need to respond on OzB and PR about our experience, good or bad.

Let's wait and see how this rolls.

  • +5

I've had 2 Tvs from Kogan delivered by QLS in the last month - the first delivery the box had an innocuous 6cm hole in the face, wasn't until I unpacked - the screen was smashed. Kogan replaced no worries and that arrived last Monday without issue (although qls were supposed to take the damaged TV but the driver knew nothing of this).
The QLS comms were good - pre sms to choose day of choice and broad time, and live updates on the day when the truck was near, driver was friendly , no probs.

I realise the QLS service may differ depending on the retailer, but I found them pretty good for these Kogan deliveries.I didn't necessarily attribute the smashed TV to delivery - I watched the guy open the truck and carry it to my front door, could have happened anywhere along the supply chain

Don't accept delivery if the box has damage though.

I chickened out on buying one of these 85" , so good luck to those that did purchase
    (I'm in VIC btw)

Thanks for the feedback on QLS.

    • Thank you for the feedback on QLS.

  • Anybody got a call or any notification from QLS?

    • Nothing as yet. Bought half an hour after the deal was posted.

      • +5

        Another day with 0 update

  • +8

I asked for an update just because it had seemed no one heard anything yet and was responded to very quickly, props for that

    Thanks for your email

At present, the TVs are sitting with QLS for processing – there is hundreds of them and they are bottlenecking unfortunately.

As per our most recent communication, if you haven’t heard from QLS by the end of this week to follow the escalation process.

We have communicated more than we believe most would however understand the concern given how cheap the offer was it seemed “to good to be true.> ”

Please be patient and await the call from QLS and do let us know if you haven’t received it.

Seems QLS is the bottleneck atm, so TCL must've gotten most the stock out to them

I do think based on the tone they are probably overwhelmed with emails similar, so I suggest avoid following up until Friday at least :)

    • +1

      thank you

      • -1

No worries, I know other's are just as antsy to get the TV / a little worried if it's a scam still.

    • +3

Even in the bottleneck scenario, some ppl should have been contacted already I guess? Cuz something still flows through the bottleneck, right? Specially if they are saying that by Friday everybody should have been contacted. Let's see how it goes. Keen to hear if anyone got even contacted, not talking about actual delivery.

      • +1

Yeah, I'm not sure. I'm not far from QLS Sydney base and I ordered pretty quickly and yeah nothing yet. I'm sure it'll work out but yeah some contact from QLS would be nice…
Somehow I think we might all be here on Friday following up.

        • -1

Yeah, looks like it. A heavy discount comes with its price.

        • -5

Follow up or not, we will have our bargain 85" in our house soon and will forget about the waiting… I'm not even that fussed about my $100 cash back at this stage, we are all so far out in front.. waiting patiently.. for now 😄

    • -1

How many units did they sell, you reckon? 200units?

      • -1

they said "hundreds of them", so probably more than 200

        • -1

You reckon 500units? Can we do some deals on 75C845 or 85C845 ?
