Still haven't heard anything from QLS, has anyone heard from them?

    • +4

I can confirm I've received the call and locked the delivery in for next Thursday.

      • -1

Cool, lucky boy. I just wait until tomorrow

      • -1

Do they call through landline or mobile number? I missed a call this afternoon but it is mobile number and when I call back it directly goes to mail box

        • -1

          They called from a landline

          • @TravHall: I also got a landline call today, but it is from red cross and urge me for blood donation, lol

            • @shaoyangdl: better than mine - a robocall in chinese saying i have a package to collect - please press 1

      • @TravHall Curious - Was that the soonest time your available or them?

        • -1

Monday was earliest, it was me that requested the next best day which was Thursday.

    Dear Customers

Thanks again for your patience – we have had a large amount of emails and phone calls and as such, I would like to provide you another update.

We had an update from TCL/QLS today around midday that the first 80 orders have been processed and approved for QLS to contact for delivery. This isn’t necessarily being done in chronological order, so we are unable to tell you where you sit in the queue however we have had confirmation that customers are beginning to be contacted and delivery dates booked in.

TCL/QLS are continuing to process the hundreds of orders that have come through and while we mentioned in our previous timeline update that we expected contact to occur by Friday, we are both ahead and behind on this commitment depending on which orders were processed first on the logistics side, not the Leading Appliances side.

Please still contact us tomorrow afternoon if you have not received a phone call or text but please be mindful of the weekend and that you will not be contacted on these days and the contact will resume Monday. This is all in the mix the other thousands of orders QLS are processing for other retailers. Rest assured, you will be contacted.

We also understand the concern around the cashback and claiming within 21 days from purchase – there is no cause for worry but we do ask that when you receive your TV you immediately file the cashback by going to www.tclpromotions.com.au. TCL/QLS are direct delivering these TVs and they will be able to see the actual delivery date on their system – if you run into any issues, of course our team is here to help. We are unable to provide you any information related to making a claim prior to receiving your TV such as the serial number – this is not known until you receive the TV. This cashback is a promotion by TCL and is not controlled by Leading Edge Appliances – please contact them via the “Contact Us” link on their page if you have any issues.

Again we ask that you do not contact either TCL or QLS as neither company will be able to provide you the information you are looking for and may confuse people in the process and cause a delay. While it is not ideal, we have to let the wheels roll and while we would like them to roll faster, we are bottlenecked at both TCL and QLS – for this we sincerely apologise.

We hope that you enjoy your TV!

    Kind Regards

    LEA Team

Seems like they are monitoring this thread haha

Anyone been contacted yet? I have not

    • Just got the same email

    • +2

Haven’t yet but got the same email and appreciate their efforts in open communications with an anxious bunch of bargain hunters

      • -6

I received the email and have to say LEA have been awesome during this whole process.

From the crazy price for a monster TV to the doubters that had us in a panic that we had been scammed, this has been a rollercoaster so far.

The communication and transparency from the LEA team has been on point and above & beyond as far as I'm concerned.

Let's all take a deep breath and let them sort through how inundated they would have been.

We will all be thanking LEA and posting more deals to support them into the future, this was just the beginning.

I'm very thankful to them for all the comms so far and could have taken delivery Monday if I wanted it. Thats only 2 weeks and even if it's a tad longer, they've already confirmed the cash back will be safe and you'll have the TV soon.

Thanks LEA, awesome work, keep it up. Cheers!!

        • +6

No offence intended, but I am going to take with a grain of salt the posts from someone who has:
          * posted 27 times in this thread,
          * repeatedly said it is not a scam and just wait with no obvious basis for these statements,
          * is the only person who seems to have reported receiving a call about delivery, and
          * is now heaping praise on the retailer for it being such a great deal, how they have handled it, etc.

Obviously I have no evidence of anything untoward, but it definitely seems at least a bit fishy.

          • +4

@djkelly69: Glad I'm not the only one that noticed. I noticed this a couple of days ago but didn't want to mention anything.

Hopefully we all get our TVs soon. Still sceptical as I have not received a call as of yet. Will update everyone once/if I do!

            • +1

@pablosdad: Hopefully some of us will receive calls from QLS tomorrow, based on the many online reviews of QLS, it's not surprising the process is slow

          • @djkelly69: Say what you will, no stress or offence taken.

Good to see you have lots of time on your hands, I'll save you the trouble, this is post 28 🤣

I had a couple of moments of stress after purchase and still pinching myself that I'm one of the lucky ones, luckier when it arrives.

The posts on here about scam had me making calls I had hoped wouldn't end in a disaster.

Everyone on this thread had the chance to do some checking with LEA and make sure this deal was legit.

Perhaps I'm just trying to be optimistic and positive when this thread has been a rollercoaster from start to now.

Btw I'm praising them for their comms and actions so far.

Now I'll let you go and get some evidence of whatever you're looking for.. just a heads up, nothing to see here, but I'm fine with you fishing as much as you want.

            • +6

@TravHall: Do you mind sharing the landline number that called?

            • @TravHall: Can you start using your "associated" tag plz?

              • @fiend: Hahahaha the drama queens of OzB are out in force again, yes of course I will do it soon, just as soon as I take delivery of my 85" … Funniest sale thread in a while.

    • I got the same email too.

  • +10

I know I'm going to get negged but now I seriously think that we all have been scammed

I have not received any call from QLS and it's already about to be afternoon

This is what happens when we FOMO into deals which are too good to be true

And I seriously think that @TravHall is somehow associated with Leading Edge Group just look at the amount of posts he has written in this thread all praising the company and apparently he is the only person to receive the call from QLS is that a coincidence? Facts are facts use your common sense guys

I am sure I'll get negged but facts are facts

    • +5

Yeah, maybe. I still have hope but it’s not hard to submit a chargeback, was always worth a shot.

The longer it goes on though it does make me think the “DONT CALL QLS OR TCL”, is less about annoying them and maybe something a little more sus.

Adding in the sockpuppeting this post originated from, TravHall being the only one who’s received a call…

Unless we have more people say they’ve gotten a call from QLS too today, you may be right.

The Friday communication which further delays til Monday before getting response, then probably requiring more delay from QLS responding etc; it is all getting a bit frustrating.

    • +6

Yep - I'm thinking along similar lines.

With so many orders and the claim that everyone should receive a call by the end of the day, it's beyond suspicious that we're not getting a lot of people posting that they've had the call.

As long as we've paid with a credit card, we should be fairly safe - the credit card schemes pretty much guarantee that we'll get the money back if the product isn't delivered. Even if the owner of the company does a runner overseas and leaves nothing in the bank account for the bank to claw back the money from, it should just be the bank that they have their merchant facility left holding the can.

It's hard to say whether it's worthwhile skipping the country - we can be reasonably sure that a quarter of a million dollars has been collected from over 200 orders. With nearly 8,000 clicks, I reckon that they've sold substantially more than that. If we said than 10% of clicks resulted in an order, we'd then be looking at around a million dollars - who knows, it could be $2 million or more.

Might be worth someone calling TCL just to confirm that they do have a large order of 85" TVs that they're working on shipping out - despite LEA pleas not to do this. If it is a scam then maybe we can get them caught before they leave the country.

Perhaps whoever is willing to do it could reply that they're on to it and then post back with the result so that not everyone calls at once.

      • Great idea, I will definitely call TCL today and report back.

        • +3

It would be better if someone can do it NOW. And they should be someone who has been on Ozbargain for a long time with a good reputation - so we don't just have another sock puppet saying "Don't worry - everything is fine!"

      • +3

Hey guys I just called TCL and the guy could confirm that Leading Edge is one of their official suppliers but didn’t know any more info on this particular deal. Maybe someone should call QLS

        • +2

          Yep, worth a try.

If they can't confirm that this is legit, I'm thinking that it might be putting in a police report ASAP so that they can get onto it before someone leaves the country.

          • @OnTheMark: My thoughts also, I think police should be aware of this large scale scam. Who knows the amount they are going to run away with could be millions easily even if 3000 people ordered from the 8000 clicks that's around 3.6 million dollars and that's being conservative.

        • +10

Just got off the phone with QLS and the lady is going to speak to the guy that manages the TCL orders and she is going to call me back

          • +2

@Skatez: Would be great and clarify all doubts. For me, the lady who picked up the phone said that she was not aware of these orders.

          • +2

@Skatez: Maybe give her the balance of 15 minutes and then call back to get an update. If no luck, then a call to the police I think would be prudent.

    • I've been checking this thread every hour or so. Still no call on my end.

Whatever happened to the guy that said got a refund from LEA? @Tougherburger

      • +1

Still alive! Just checked out of this thread after letting you guys know what happened on my end when the refund was processed.

For what it's worth, I think the comms from LEA have been refreshing and honest. I wouldnt blacklist them in the future, because I understand the hold up with processing the amount of orders they would've copped from the OzB faithful. I also am not affiliated with them, it's just my opinion!

  • +4

The QLS person who picked up the phone for me did not have any idea of the large number of orders coming from TCL. She was able to confirm that TCL is their client, but is not aware of any large volume of orders. This does not mean though that this is necessarily a scam, as TCL confirmed that LEA is their partner. If it's a scam, TCL 3rd party checks failed before onboarding them, which means TCL also was misled.

    • There we go this does it for me. SCAM! I am contacting the police.

      • +3

mate at least try to do your side of things, call TCL, call QLS, and email leading edge for a refund. Police are going to ask you if you tried all of these before they can even consider the case. Or maybe I am understanding how it works.

        • I agree, the "POLICE" calls are going to be laughed at, at this stage. While I do think this is appearing to be a scam, police are at the very minimum going to ask if you've tried requesting a refund.

I will definitely be kicking off a chargeback, but ill let this play out a little bit more first.

        • +1

In the case of a handful of orders, I'd agree, but with a potential multi million dollar scam in progress, they might sit up and take some notice.

At this point, we're all hoping that it's not a scam and that we'll get what we paid for. There's not much point in requesting a refund at this point IMO - if it's not a scam, we'll miss on a great bargain. If it is a scam, they just need to say that they'll process a refund and that we need to wait a week or 2 for the funds to show up in our account - which would of course never happen and just give them more time to make a getaway.

I'm hoping that I'm totally wrong in thinking that this is a scam, but the stench is getting overbearing…

          • @OnTheMark: There was a person here (if real account) who said they got their refund the same day.

      • +1

lol. Police. I'd like to see how that conversation goes.

If you're the anxious type, just ask them to cancel and get a refund.
Not worth spreading negativity around a company who is (probably) trying to do their best.

Given this experience, most likely they won't run a similar deal again.

(I'm not associated with them, I'm waiting for my order to be delivered)

        • -1

I hadn't noticed any anxious types OkWing ;)

Good to have a little bit more positivity in here.
          .
Have to say, this has been fun.. all the suspicion, anger, finger pointing and conspiracy posts have made me laugh.

I need to get my half century, I'm not far off now.

I couldn't imagine LEA doing another deal after this one.

Btw the fact that you said you're not associated, get ready for it :)

  • +7

Good news guys, just called back Emma from QLS and she has confirmed with TCL that the deal is 100% legit and not a scam. She is sending me an email in the next 10 minutes with the details and I will post it here. According to her the orders will start being processed over the weekend and delivered soon.

    • +1

That's awesome news - thanks for doing that.

It's good to be wrong sometimes :-)

      • You’re welcome, I was starting to worry a bit myself.

    • Ohh my :) hahaha I'm laughing but very happy you guys can relax.. is that possible?

      • +2

You have to admit though, it was very suss how you were the only one to have been contacted out of al the ozbargainers that ordered hahaha. But I'm glad it worked out in the end.

I need your optimism in life. :D

        • Hey I completely get it, I have had my moments don't worry and you guys didn't help one bit :)

    • +2

Can I think that you might be one of them? ;-)

      Anyway much appreciated.

      • +2

My name is tarnished on OzB forever, I can handle it.

And I have no affiliation with them, I just really wanted this deal to be real and tried my best to stay positive.

The rollercoaster will continue, someone will say they missed a delivery soon and away we go again :)

      • +1

Hahaha nah it’s party time guys

  • +4

Okay, also called TCL, and their sales team confirmed this is a legit deal, and they received a large order for 85" TV and currently QLS is processing those. They also confirmed that LEA is not new, and they work with them for some time now.

    • Wow, just wow, so happy for you, I couldn't believe the comments I've been reading.

I've been around OzB for ages, cannot believe I got caught up in this conspiracy theory.

      • @TravHall It all started with a rep person not indicating their relationship with LEA, and the moderator banning them. Everyone of us can learn something from this deal and situation.

        • I pulled the trigger so fast and panicked after purchase with the whole socket puppet thing.
Just happy others have received calls and starting to relax, so we can all enjoy the weekend.

  • +4

Followed up again with LEA / Cameron mentioning the appearance that this is a scam and my concerns, received this:

I understand your concerns and they reflect the others which is why I sent out the update last night.

The reason why we have advised nobody to contact TCL/QLS has been explained in detail.

In short, I'm happy to provide you a full refund if you would like but I'm unable to offer this deal again if you change your mind.

Let me know what you would like to do.

I then asked if it's a stitch up and where the bottleneck lies…

Totally understand and not a stitch up at all.

We send the orders to TCL. TCL process and send the approval to QLS (QLS is one of the largest 3PL companies in Australia). QLS then have to contact customers directly to arrange delivery.

As mentioned, there is a hold up at both the TCL and QLS end.

I'm not exactly sure what sort of confirmation you would be after or what you feel you would be satisfied with. We have confirmed with TCL that they have received and are inputting the orders into their system, we have confirmation from a few customers that they have received calls (not all people who purchased are on OzBargain).

We have communicated 3 times very fairly and in my opinion more than any other retailer.

We are happy refund the order but you're already in the queue so it's a further complication.

Personally, I don't think a scam company would be replying to users and providing updates.

Let me know what you would like to do - we can only go as fast as we can go.

Once again, they are being direct and giving me the option to go for a refund if I wanted it. I think this comes down to QLS just being a bit of shitshow of a company. With the QLS confirmation above, I think we might be okay.

    • That and the confirmation from TCL by @MrHouseMD is putting my mind somewhat at ease now.

They're going to get flooded by emails asking about orders at the end of today though!

    • Just a further thought on this:

I don't think that there is anything that a company could say to provide reassurance that couldn't also be said by a scammer.

The only thing that I think that they could do would be to ask the manufacturer to put up a page on their website to confirm that the deal was legitimate and that orders are being processed with any further info on delays etc.

Might be a bit of an ask but could save the manufacturer from having to answer a heap of calls from anxious customers.

Still wouldn't be a complete guarantee but would be a lot harder to pull off if it was a scam…

      • Tell me this is a wind up.
You're not still thinking this is a scam?

Let me guess, my name is back on the hit list again 😛

And whoever the person was counting my posts, yes they've gone up because of the positive news.. now I'm sensing this could all backflip again like the police posts from earlier.

        • No - I'm not.

I'm just thinking of all the other people that haven't been following this thread that will be calling/emailing Leading Edge because they haven't received the promised call to organise a delivery date by the end of today.

Would also be useful when either this company or any other does a similar promotion that seems too good to be true.

          • @OnTheMark: Yeah but I would think most people would be happy with the level of comms provided so far.

The only reason I hit panic stations at any stage was due to this OzB thread.
If I didn't read about the socketpuppet thing or the scam posts, I would have been ok.
I'm hyper vigilant about scams and nothing from the website or sale looked like a scam to me - only the posts that made me second guess things.

So anyone not following might just be ok to cruise it out.
In a world of scams, I get why all of this happened and I'll remember it :)

            • @TravHall: For those unaware of OzBargain, there's still the red flags of the price being possibly too good to be true plus missing the deadline of getting a call by the promised date. I agree that not being aware of the sock puppeting would make most people a lot less concerned though.

I haven't been too worried about losing my money because of credit card protections - just missing out on an awesome bargain and the possibility that someone could be making off with a huge bag of cash…

              • @OnTheMark: Haha just imagining the documentary being released in 3 years time.. The BIG TV TCL Scam.

With a company fleecing it's customers and fleeing the country with our $$$

The old saying if it seems too good to be true it probably is has caused this thread to light up like a Xmas tree over and over again.

I have my popcorn at the ready for more posts, I just hope they're all positive from here.

      • +3

I don't think that there is anything that a company could say to provide reassurance that couldn't also be said by a scammer.

The only assurance at this stage is delivered TVs. They have made excuses for nearly two weeks so far. Its great that they are sending some updates, but they are really just meaningless words until TVs start being delivered. I would love for it to come through, but am not overly confident on this one.

Also I am not entirely sure how really big box online retail usually works, but IME 99% of the time I have bought something online (from tiny sized to very large), the business selling the item sends it to me. Not the retailer loading orders to the manufacturer's system, so they can then send approval to the courier so delivery can be arranged. Just adds to the other unusual goings-on with this 'deal'.

        • Here we go again :) You win!!
All optimism and positive thinking is now cooked again by @djkelly69

          • +1

@TravHall: So you are entitled to be eternally optimistic, but no-one is allowed to be pessimistic?

Also weird how despite posting 39 times in this thread, you managed to not respond to the one asking about the landline number which you were called from when delivery was organised.

            • +2

              @djkelly69: Now it's 40 times 👍

That's a record for me, will that automatically update my profile to LEA affiliate or employee?

I can't believe I missed that post from earlier, let's face it, all of the scam posts stole the attention as this thread went nuts with police and being ripped. I hadn't had much chance to access the posts earlier today.

Anyway better late than never, thanks for pointing it out, those that have been lucky enough to receive a call might be able to confirm, it was from 03 9706 5966

        • Drop shipping is actually quite common - especially for large and/or expensive items as warehousing such items is a major overhead for the retailer.

Have a lovely weekend Simon J

    Kind Regards,

    Anna Taurima

    QLSSignaturelogo.gif

    • Seems sus because I tried searching Anna Taurima on linkedin and she didn't appear.

      • They are still open for another half an hour if you want to call her and hear the update for yourself.

  • -4

Let the good times roll everyone, going into the weekend knowing our TV's will be with us soon.
Can't wait to see how many negs I get for this.

  • +1

@TravHall If you want to prove that you indeed received the call from QLS, can you please share the number you got the call from? People here have asked you a few times but you have failed to do so.

    • -1

Did it above, what else would you like from me or again I'm about to get another run of scam extraordinaire posts 🤣

  • -1

This post is going wild, wonder how much better this TV has to be compare to Samsung 85" BU8000 at almost same price here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/802210
or almost $200 less here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/790190,
but this one "deal" is like buying drugs from nobody, the rep(s) have to pretent they are not associated.

    • -1

Why would you want to be anywhere else?

This is the example how posts can spiral completely out of control and it's not over yet. Just wait if QLS are a minute or two past their expected arrival time.. the lynch mob will be back to get the sneaky reps :)

      • Thats what a company has almost no customer service will be like, firstly they shouldn't take that much orders if they can't handle, secondly if they are not new company like someone said(but ABN from 2022) they should at least have some stocks but seems like they have zero,no one got called or shipping information.
And thats the best situation here if they are "real"company and send out the orders, can't imagine if anything goes wrong what aftermarket service will be nor mention this deal for me no better than Samsung BU8000 85'' ones but Im not a TV geeker just compare the size of TV.

    • +1

@yuisakas, if you didn't buy, why bother

      • How do you know I didn't?

        • well, because you said this deal "like buying drugs from nobody", if you did buy, then you must be brave

          • -1

@excite: Why can't you think this way beacuse I bought it then I start think it is "like buying drugs from nobody",if I did buy, then I must be a idiot.Anyway this post is most scammy story Ive ever followed on ozbargain and some are actually scam but less drama like this one

  • +1

Another day goes by no call or update from QLS

From first comment till this one,why everyone care about QLS and TCL, how can leadingedgeappliances have absolutely no stock at all before this big sale cause no one have got any shipping information almost 2 weeks now,if they have at least 2-3 TVs in stock may somebody will jump out said they got updates but no.

  • Also why have couple people here said the deal is soooooo good and the company is sooooooo charitable again and again, and none of them post anything on Samsung 85" BU8000 deals, thats just interests me.

those are edu/gov deals? limited ppl have access to those

      • Yes,but at least no risk, also means the deal will be publicly time to time, tvs are not people have to buy it today or tomorrow.Compare to the dramas and aftersale service Im not sure it'll be worth even in the best situation here

I actually agree here. I was tossing between Samsung deal and this one. BU8000s were getting back to stock and the only reason I purchased TCL over Samsung was because of all this hype about huge discount etc etc.

Not that I need the TV urgently (not sure if I need it at all, lol) but I find the way the company dealt with the whole sale very unprofessional, to say the least.

Sockpuppeting, not informing about delivery delays which surely they had been aware from the start… I am not talking about fraud here, but petty scam signs are definitely present.

          • @AFOS: Also seen these deals but no access to edu or gov. These prices never advertised for general public according to ozb history. Like 999 for 85", to see this price not real.

  • I am going through all the conversation above. But did anyone actually received a call from QLS to arrange time for delivery?

This is like the gift that no one has received yet that keeps giving.

Of course I'll bite, it's been quiet for too long.

No time has been set for me, although I did ask QLS out of curiosity if I could collect it from their depot and they agreed if I had ID and prior arrangement.

But hey I'm a convicted LEA rep to some here, so you can choose to believe it or not. I just can't get enough of the reactions and paranoia on here, so let's go 😀

Hang on - didn't you previously say that you had booked in the delivery for Thursday????

        • -5

Yes I did and never said they gave a time.
Anything else I need to give you to put your mind at ease?

@TravHall: Your reply to pc007 is rather confusing.

When he/she asked if anyone had actually received a call from QLS to arrange time for delivery, I think a much clearer answer would have been to say "Yes, I've received a call and I'm booked in for delivery on Thursday but no specific time has been set"

You've at least got a date booked in which seems to be a lot better than any other OzBargainer…

Granted, those that have received a call wouldn't have much reason to return to this deal page to report so, but I still would have expected a few to come and report back by now…

            • @OnTheMark: Ok cool, I'll be more conscious of my replies from here on, appreciate your feedback 🤣

Let me clarify, I've received a call to arrange delivery and I've chosen Thursday. Closer to the day, QLS said they will contact me to give a better idea of time.

Now depending on how curious or paranoid you still are about this whole deal, I'm either going to receive a call or will never hear from QLS again. For me, bring on Thurs, cannot wait and will make sure I send pics to relieve the stress some still have.
