    • before it's dispatched you can cancel no problem

  • WTF is this price

    • +5

it's the bottom of the line 4k TV from sammies

      https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/au8000

tldr: slow response panel, no high refresh, no VRR for gaming, no hdmi 2.1 either, 300nit tops, not spectacular contrast.

      it's okay as basic TV

      • It's an entry level TV correct

      • How bad could it be? Any insights?

        • +1

expanded above. where it lacks essentially is gaming and watching fast paced action (sports, action movies), also not good in a well lit room due to low brightness (Frame is twice as bright)

          otherwise it's a good basic 4k tv

        • Depends on what you need it for. It's a decent price for what it is and for someone who wants a big tv without breaking the bank

        • +1

Spend extra 500 and get decent one with actual features

      • OS does lag a bit. Plus the Tizen app store sucks.

      • +1

came to say this. its for those who just want a big screen but dont care if its actually good or not (which its not).

  • +1

Got a 2022 frame and their UI lags as hell. Shame on samsung being a top seller and still can't get the UI smooth.

    • +1

yeah the only downside of the Frame. I still love mine, but the thing is slow as hell at times.

      • +1

Ok slow UI meaning what switching between channels? PVR part? Streaming Apps etc, could'nt one say use a Fetch Mighty bix for the tuner, UI etc side and use this TV jyst a a dumb display TV,…… Well SHE'S HUGE lolz πŸ‘‰πŸ˜πŸ‘ˆ

        • +2

where it's slow is opening and switching apps. everything else is ok

          • @shabaka: Ok then a 4K Fetch Mighty PVR with 4x tuners built-in will solve this

          • +7

@shabaka: It’s 2023 and people are still using the dog crap built in TV OSs? Just get a Google tv or Apple TV and use the TV as a display

            • @bigosmallo: Yupz I have a 4K Fetch Mighty PVR
              πŸ‘‰πŸ˜πŸ‘ˆ

            • @bigosmallo: yup I could do. I have chromecast plugged into mine, and a lot of things I just cast. at some stage I need to cross that bridge and plug in something smarter, just need to do research if it's even faster than built in OS.. I remember Vodafine box still have the thing but it wasn't much faster tbh..

      • So apart from the slow UI hows the quality of the screen? Just wondering considering its a Samsung TV, I'm sure it's 60hz panel or I could be wrong πŸ€”

        • all frames have 120hz and HDMI 2.1, great for gaming consoles and watching sport

great contrast, low input lag, fast response, great brightness (600 nit)

          no complaints from me

        • I love the matte finish on the screen. My living room cops the sunlight bad, and the Frame handles it beautifully

    • Even their top line models lag… I got a q90b … 2nd best 4k model … lags alot.

Apart from that.. pq is good

  • +2

Only if i had the money to buy this. spent all buying boost sim cards n waiting for cashrewards/shopback to pay me

  • Wow- thats as good as it gets for a large tv.

Ive had the 82” from 2020 and its been great. I watch 4k on fox sports and have no issues. If you find it too bright, there is many modes to change this to make it display like a darker tone of a sony.

I think the only issue i have is there is 1 single dead pixel that was in the centre of the screen- which then moved to the bottom of the screen recently- anyone know how they happen and why they moved?

My house was hit by lightning and everything hard wired via ethernet to nbn seemed to be fried so it may have been that after its repairs

    • Didn't have a surge protectors on all your electronic stuff/devices?

Edit: Through ethernet cable not 240 Volts line, really?

    • But it took you 4 hours 59 minutes to comment?

Lol I didn't even buy this TV man, I get you are pretty bummed out for not getting it but move on!

      • -4

Yes shit have better things to do than ……

  • Anyone know how much better the picture quality is on the TCL C745 vs this? Looking at the 75" TCL but this is a great price for 85" (and might be worthwhile waiting for again before pulling the trigger on the TCL).

    • +1

      It's back in stock

    • +1

Much better. Samsung 8000 series every year is bottom of the barrel stuff. Pretty much paying for the brand name alone. The TV is poor but some people won't mind however if all you want is a big screen. Great price is that's what you're after.

      • Cheers, might wait to see any black friday deals on the C745. Thanks for that

        • get the C845 mini LED

  • Back in stick again, purchased one.
