Australia's greatest exhibition of Hi-Fi, Home Cinema, Headphones and Home Entertainment will take place in Melbourne, October 20th-22nd, showcasing both Australian and international hi-fi, home cinema and headphones brands in one place, across three great days. This year, the show will feature over 200 brands, with names such as Accuphase, Anthem, Audiolab, Barco, Bluesound, Bowers & Wilkins, DALI, JBL, Epson, Sonos, The Gryphon, Wilson Audio, KEF, Krix, Klipsch, Linn, and many more.

Located at the world-class Pullman Mercure Hotel, Queens Road, and home of Formula 1 in Australia, Albert Park. Hotel rooms and function spaces are transformed into demo suites. Why go to the cinema when you can bring the big screen home? At this year's show, you'll witness the very latest in projectors, surround sound audio systems and more.

The Australian Record Fair will assemble an expansive collection of vintage, collectible, and new vinyl in a family-friendly setting. With over 30 vendors bringing in 20,000 unique vinyl recordings and related pieces of memorabilia, this year’s Australian Record Fair will showcase records and other material from top vendors from around Australia.

New to the show is Headzones supported by Sydney's Minidisc.com.au - some of the world's best headphones and portable audio products on display and available for audition on the Ground Level. You can even get a 3D ear scan onsite with Auricle Digital with special package prices when ordering Customer In-Ear Monitors.

Bring your eyes and ears to Melbourne's annual Home Entertainment Show, where you can listen and see everything that is new and get a heads-up on current technology.

Does anybody hate the shows charging to get in to be able to buy things…

The attendees pay, the vendors pay. Pay pay pay.

I'll keep on doing my research online and go into stores to demo if needed.

The website has a handful of images and even less information. It's underwhelming.

I agree. You are not getting any deals either as the cost of the ticket adds up to any purchase you make

I get what you’re saying but I don’t think it’s a big money maker for them to be honest, some person or group has put a bunch of effort into putting it altogether. They’re probably not doing much more other than covering their costs.

I reckon they are lining their pockets.

Yeah imagine Harvey Norman charging to look at stuff you might buy ? And worse is with some of these shows you pay and not much to actually see …. I'd go if ticket was free.

Although if you know want you want, last day might be worthwhile. Many of the vendors with bulky items (eg speakers) are likely to discount rather than have to pack up and take back to the store.

I bought my ticket at all price unfortunately. I just find it hard to find any other opportunities to AB demo speakers and headphones, without pressure from the salesman to purchase something to worth their time. Here I can test 6 headphones an hour without looking like a douch

  • If I was in Melbourne I would actually go to listen to a single album on the Sennheiser HE 1

  • It’d help if vendors had prices or deals listed \ eg I’m after a full Sonos Arc & Era 300 setup

Note to self - don't buy tickets until close to the event especially when these probably won't sell out.

    • Well especially for this show. They have done this every year and I waited and it was a good decision.

      • Is it worth going if you're just looking at home cinema gear?

        • Hmm. They do have some great but expensive stuff. Its mostly audio but they probably use other expensive gear for the demos. But yeah mostly speakers. Even if you don't find the thing you want I think you can learn about the products they have on display and if you like audio you will definitely have a good day. Last year I remember at least 3 rooms with a full setup with projectors and demo movies to show the performance of the speakers. Idk much about this I mostly go for the headphones and speakers alone. If you have any other questions I will try and remember what I saw. It was a long day lol
