    I had the same debate. Then the F&F Delonghi deal came up and very happy it did. The Magnifica is an excellent machine.

  Have one. Love it. Only gripe is not hot enough so I microwave my drink for 30 secs (lattes)

    Do you pre-warm your cup? It makes a huge difference to me. 30-50 ml of hot water in the cup, microwave for 30 seconds, discard the hot water (or put into the next cup) then make coffee into it.

      Hmmm not a bad idea! Occasionally heat it up but only with hot water but I like your idea better

      12 beverages instead of 5. Touch screen with LED display. Philips 5400 Series is able to automatically make milk based drinks from the menu. Philips 4300 Series is not able to do that

        Are you sure you're not confusing this model with the standard non-lattego model? This can make milk based drinks straight from the menu afaik, and has 8 selectable drinks (plus touch screen led display)

          @Collett: The only drink you cannot recreate with the 4300 is the caffe latte.

  I have the E2231, love the machine for the price, coffee is hot, but the milk throffer makes hot milk with bubbles. I use a separate frother now.
