        Depends what you want it for. If you want a well made all round controller then just get a new xbox controller. If you want something with a better dpad (dpad is shit on both xbox and ps controllers) you could go with one of the other 8bitdo controllers. i'm sure there's other better niche brands but i don't have that deep of an experience. I never cared too much about a 'good' controller until i played celeste with an xbox one controller and that was one roller coaster of an experience. it is just not made for precise input.

    Take a look at this one: FlyDigi Vader 3 Pro. Its got hall effect sticks, adjustable trigger stops and mechanical ABXY buttons. I haven't tried it because I game on an Xbox but if I was after a controller for my PC I'd be seriously considering it.

  Are controllers really that expensive? The controllers' prices to console price ratio feels out of whack. Sucks to be a raging kid haha

    Consoles are generally sold at a loss or near to it, the rest is sold at significant mark-up - all accessories etc. The money is made on the software (and to a lesser extent, accessories)

    Nintendo is a bit different to all the others and easily makes money on each console, hence the performance of the Switch (and every other console they've done) is rubbish compared to the others. Nonetheless their first-party games (Mario/zelda/etc) are so good that it doesn't matter. Also note that they don't discount their games much if at all, ever.

    Then again Nintendo can't do online to save themselves and are notoriously the first to cancel online services as well generally having very lacklustre online services full stop.
