    • Looks like it is out of stock on Amazon but still available at Officeworks for now.

  • Agree on this one. I've got an iPhone 16 pro and I often pickup a friend's iPhone 12 and love how light and fast it is. Great phone.

I didn't think that 64GB of internal storage was much now a days. And there is no expandable storage option. Is this such a good deal?.

    • I've had my iPhone 12 64gb since release and a few times I've hit the storage cap, but only because I don't really clean up my apps. After removing things like Hearthstone, Marvel Snap and other games that I didn't really play on my phone, I have ample space.

      • Well it only takes 10 games at say 4GB each plus a bunch of apps and you've run out of space. Also remember that doesn't the operating system reserve space from the 64GB of internal storage for its own.

Also you run into iOS games which require a large amount of storage. For example the 12GB of storage just for itself for Diablo Immortal. More and more games are going to be like that. 64GB of internal storage won't last long.

Not a good deal then if you’re the kind of person who has ten 4GB games installed, but if you’re not a mobile gamer or videographer 64GB isn’t bad.

  • Is this 5G phone?
And will we get Apple warranty if bought from Amazon?

  • +3

Isn't the 12 the one that just got banned in France for being too radioactive?

    • +1

yep so even better radioactive value

      • +3

        The googles, they do nothing!

        • all we wanted was 1.21 gigawatts to get back home, instead we got a software update

    • Yes, with the caveat that France changed their testing method just this year to reduce the testing distance between phone and skin to 0mm, which Apple failed (and 50 odd other phones).

You'd have to be really strongarmed by the Apple ecosystem/prison to consider this a good deal over the litany of comparable Androids available for similar money (e.g. Moto Edge 30 Ultra, or the Pro for quite a bit less).

Really need at least a 13 (which is a pretty decent base model iPhone when considering battery life, screen quality, processor speed and camera quality and a big step up over the 12) to enjoy the totality of the benefits of owning a fruit phone.

    • +2

Ignoring Android devices for a bit, a used good condition iPhone 13 could be purchased for a similar price and is a much better device as you say. You're also getting longer software support.

    • overpriced across the whole lineup. But I don't think that a Moto Edge is even comparable.

      • +1

If you weren't stuck with the fruit ecosystem then the Edge 30 Pro/Ultra are both hands down better phones overall than the 12. Even I (an Android user from way back) would take an iPhone 13 over one of those Motos, though!

I was really just using the Moto phones as a top-of-mind example of a series of similarly priced or cheaper phones that, overall, I think, would be better than a 12.

      problem is, androids suck

i just upgraded from the iphone 12 to 15 Pro Max…the iphone 12 has aged absolutely fantastic, snappy as the first day i got it. Only big negative is the camera set-up but thats fairly obvious being the base model. In saying that, $800 is quite a lot for a base model "old" phone with 64gb storage

  • +1

Ladies told me that 64gb is too small.

    • It's not about the size, it's what you do with it that counts.

  • +1

I really don't think this is a great deal unless you absolutely need a brand new mid sized iOS device and don't care about storage

  • Amazing price, I have an iphone 12 mini and ordered the iphone 15 pro BUT I am considering cancelling the 15 pro for this!

    • Why would you side step? If you want to cancel the 15 pro and you have a 12mini, keep the mini or choose between 14 Pro Max or 15 Plus if you are looking to save a few dollars

      • Just need a bigger screen and better battery tbh (the battery on the 12 mini after nearly 3 years is reallllyyy bad!). The 12 mini is super fast otherwise and I figure the 12 will be the same!

        • +1

Go to the Apple store and get a new battery installed then it is back to new for about $120.

          • @Grok: $150 now sadly. I need a bigger screen too.. hence keen to upgrade!

            • @justcallmeboss: OK then.

I was thinking of getting a15 just for the heck and USB but this is less than half the cost. I just call and use a few financial apps so not a power user. Still rocking an SE, original!

              Hmmmm

        • +1

It just seems like a tonne of money to spend on the same phone. The 13 or 14 wouldnt be much more imo
