Finally assembled the avengers crew to deliver the finale OzBargain birthday event for Sydney. This will be co-organised with a majority of the organisers in Sydney and the rest are welcome to come help out!

Come celebrate Ozbargain 17th event this time with a little bit of a change of scenery with a picnic event! I'll be using the money to grab some food, catering and drinks. This also doubles as a potluck so feel free to bring your own food and drinks to share the love - even better if we get to try a bit of your culture!

    Happy to also jump in to help too. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say there probably aren't many parking options for either of these? Was thinking we could do a trivia for prizes (I can draft something up if you're keen). Otherwise because it is a large group, maybe a good old spin the wheel app name draw playing on a laptop can be quite exciting too. 😂

      Please do! There's a bit of parking on the smaller street but its all timed for the weekends I believe. I think there was a street or two on Cleveland street that is free but that might be for Sunday. Otherwise you can try Pitt St and George St

    Just a suggestion for venue :
    ○ Mary Ann Street Park in Ultimo | GMaps

    Positives
    + easy to get to, by car (drop-offs) or by train and tram (from inner-west)
    + parking at Broadway Shopping Centre (8-10 minute walk)
    + near Chinatown, Darling Harbour
    + small shaded area under trees
    + mostly flat and suitable for sit-down picnics
    + nearby free table-tennis tables @ Ultimo Community Centre
    + in front of MSY

    Negatives
    - no barbeque facilities
    - most of the park is unshaded
    (- no public toilet facilities. may need to go to UTS for them)
    - almost all parking around is timed ticketed

        I'm pretty sure that 2-hours is for a 1-time limit,
        meaning you can't take your car out and back in again for another 2-hours.

        I just thought that shopping-centre parking nearby is a bonus,
        when there are no 2-hour parking near Prince Alfred Park (as far as I know).

        I was attracted to the table tennis nearby…ha

    This location has the biggest cap, but not many have been registered. Maybe need much bigger attention to let more people know about this event. Everyday there are at least thousands if not 10k visitors of this community website. Central station can be reached by train or bus for many people anyway and it will be on Saturday. Or maybe some Ozbargainers prefer Saturday night fever? Or maybe more people if there will be Cosplay or eating competition lol 😂

    Hey all, I've updated the event with prizes to be won, awesome formatting (still learning) and will constantly be updating the menu list as more deals come through. Please ping me if you know any local businesses that are interested in sponsoring the food or you would love to see there. Will be opting for hard bargains and some premium stuff.       I have Citizen Eco-Drive too ;-) For Moto G-54, it's better to install and use Gcam/Google Camera app for camera in any android phones. Also YouTube ReVanced app (free, no ads, background play) rather than the normal free YouTube (too much ads, no background play). I can help to install them if you don't have it yet :)

    Hi all, just a quick update from me - theres a few more sponsorships coming onboard so the post will slowly be updated. Unfortunately, the bad weather doesn't seem to be going away and I have decided to move the venue over to Ultimo Community Centre. HOPEFULLY, we can use one of their outdoor spaces and one of their rooms so got the confirmation from scotty to proceed ahead. I may have to reduce the cap but will keep you in the loop. If you're not able to attend, could you please untick the event registration? I don't want my event to be the one giving the largest amount of no show badges 💀

    Hey all, after much deliberation and negotiations, things have fallen out of place with hiring a venue and instead we're gonna go ahead with the event despite there being a 50% chance of it raining. This also means there will be no BBQ or drone photography and instead we will have more readily available food. I've got some lovely vietnamese aunties and other local businesses that I will be buying from so be on the look out on the menu as its a rapidly updated area.

    With that in mind, feel free to bring your best rain gear, the best dressed and most ozbargained fashionista will be receiving prizes from me at the event! Hope to see yall there with your blunt brollys, rebel ponchos and show your kicks off with some flashy gumboots (:

    Thanks for being patience with me yall. I didn’t make it super clear but the event is still held at prince Alfred park where the BBQs are. This is pretty accurate as to where it is. Just keep your eyes out for bbqs and you will be good. Most of the food will be more on the go sort of type. Hope to see you guys there!

    Morning yall! The event is still going on even though its raining! I'm still cooking and might be late because of it ahahaha.

    Looking forward to seeing you all there! We will be moving towards the large trees for natural cover but if anyone can bring a couple of large tarps, marquees, folding tables or speakers, I would greatly appreciate that! There will be heaps to be won on the day and tonnes of activities to do to keep it going. As a hint, yall might want to brush up on some ozbargain lore and history ;)

    Don't forget that there is street parking on the side and its a 5 min walk from the station. Please also bring your own containers too as I imagine that there will be heaps of leftovers to be had. see you all there!

    Thanks for organising @cerealsmok3r! So much food, was great to meet everyone. If I end up in the hospital, please pinpoint the expired bundaberg drinks.

    Really appreciate all the hard work that you put into making the birthday meetup a big success, CerealSmok3r! Your mums cooking was very yummy and so was the Goulash!

The weather could be a bit better but we were all anxious throughout the week that it was going to be pouring today (lucky it didn't).

    Thanks everyone for coming! I really appreciate yall turning up and being patient with me while I cooked up a cook start to the event. Thank you all so much for playing a role in helping out, having some good food and good chats all around. Hope you also had a great time playing trivia and helping yourselves to the event!!

    I've added some pictures to the album and please feel free to add any that you have taken yourselves. There will be more images coming from smash when she finishes working it through post production.
