Rex has a mid-week promo sale on. Ie it's cheaper to fly during the week. Of course, that doesn't mean there aren't other days that are cheap too! I've gone through and found the cheapest dates for the next 3 months, including Christmas and NY.

Don't forget Rex's Frequent Flyer program, where you can currently get double points and 5,000 points on sign up.

These one way fares from Rex include checked luggage and carry-on, as well as refreshments.

Rex also has the lowest cancellation rate of any airline in Australia in the past month, and most on-time flights of any airline too.

If looking for a return flight, consider that two one ways can sometimes be cheaper.

Note that Rex's new route, Adelaide <-> Brisbane starts on October 30th!

Consider one of the more unusual accommodation options in Australia for your stay.

Melbourne - Hobart (1 Nov - 31 Jan) from $72

    Nice! Over peak periods too.

Recently flew with Rex, it was pretty good, reminded me a little of Virgin Blue back in the day (but with a few more inclusions). Overall a good offering positioned in between Jetstar and Virgin, would fly again

Virgin are more like Jetstar these days (all baggage charged separately). I reckon Rex is a more premium offering.

In my opinion, I'd say Rex's in-flight offering(for the 737 routes) is actually above Virgin. Virgin has downgraded a bit after the pandemic compared to prior.

However, for those flying on business class or have high status on their frequent flyer program, Virgin has "proper" lounges at their domestic terminals and hence the corporate/frequent flyers will still likely opt for Virgin over Rex. Not to mention much higher frequencies on those corporate heavy routes.

Hopefully, Rex gets more planes in their fleet to provide more competition to both Virgin and Qantas.

Rex just pulled out of our town for lack of pilots, apparently.

    • Yeah I know a few QF skippers and they are maxing out their direct entry programs, 99% of them are ex Rex.

It’s pretty good with a $40-50k pay increase.

Ehhhh there's only 2 days I could even see for Hobart that are <$100 and they are miles apart, pretty cheeky

  • +1

Won't find cheaper than this, reminds of in early 2000s prices, bang for the buck!

    • Nah the real early 2000 price was $30 return with Tiger from Melbourne to Perth

  • Hoping they will have good deals mid march when we need to fly Syd-ADL return.

Good service and able to bid the business upgrade for last 2 flights.

I would rather be in my gas guzzling 4x4 and drive around aimlessly pretending to be all that

  • +1

One day they might fly to Perth.

    • Perth is for poor people

      • Except everything costs a fortune over here because we get no bargains on OzBargain

        • Cheap housing

  • No sydney to adelaide :(

  • I checked prices yesterday and was $88 one way and the similar back during Christmas period… they have upped the prices in one day and called it a sale wow

  • Anything to/from Cairns? Couldn't see any on the linked site 🧐
