Fifty Shades of Grey

When literature student Anastasia Steele interviews successful entrepreneur Christian Grey, she finds him very attractive and deeply intimidating. Unworldly and innocent, Ana is shocked to find she wants this man, and excited when she realises that Christian wants her too. As they embark on a passionate love affair, Ana discovers more about her own desires, as well as the dark secrets Christian keeps hidden away from public view .

Fifty Shades Darker

Daunted by the dark secrets of the tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Ana Steele has broken off their relationship. But when Christian proposes a new arrangement, she cannot resist. Soon she is learning more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades than she ever thought possible.

Fifty Shades Freed

Anastasia Steele always knew that loving Christian Grey would not be easy, and being together poses challenges neither of them had anticipated. But, finally together, they have love, passion, intimacy, wealth, and a world of infinite possibilities.

Then just when it seems that they really do have it all, tragedy and fate combine to make Ana's worst nightmares come true …

I read the first 5 chapters of the first book yesterday. 3/10, would not continue reading.

    • I struggled through the whole first one (as I don't like not finishing a book) and thought it was extremely average. I find it odd that this sort of thing became so popular and even stranger that a huge number of females envy the character Ana. Honestly a better read than Twilight though. 4/10.

        Better love story than Twilight?

thats because your libido is low

  • I wonder what would happen if they turn this into a movie ;)

    • +7

      they did… It's called S&M porn.

    • -7

Sadly they are turning it into a movie…

Also the book isn't worth $20, and probably will be getting into the budget bin in a few years.

ALSO - does the price include shipping? Because if it does then there is cheaper.

Also the book isn't worth $20,

        It's 3 books

        does the price include shipping

        in store

        there is cheaper.

        Where?

I guess it makes guys feel manly to neg this deal

    • manly? Damn straight! It's our duty as men to prevent our women from reading this trash.

    • From what I hear, it's about people getting into dominant submissive roles, even though it wasn't advertised as such.

    http://booko.com.au/9780099580577/Fifty-Shades-Trilogy-Boxed…

looks to be cheaper than online….

    Good deal

  • Can you buy this on the bigw website?

    • +3

      I'd be embarassed too.

    • +1

Well, seeing that you can scan the products yourself as you do self service checkout and evade the counter, nobody can really see what you're buying.

      • ha, buying it for my gf. Buying it online with the shipping cost is cheaper than driving to the closest BigW, that's why I wanted to know.

My hair turned 50 shades of grey just by reading these comments.

Free wouldn't even classify as a bargain. You would have to pay me for the trouble of getting rid of this shit.

    • +1

Nobody cares about personal opinions of the book…. Cluttering up the thread with "I don't like it" posts adds nothing to the discussion
      some people don't like it… many do…. that's life

The question is whether or not this is the cheapest deal for this particular product…. nobody has yet pointed to a cheaper deal

  • I didnt think adult deals where alowed on ozbargains?

    • So what? It's a book anyone can buy.
Anyway should be more adult deals on OzB I say.

      • Have you been browsing with NSFW turned on or off? We've had a number posted with NSFW turned on at the start.

        • ahhh how do you change that setting?

        • Visit the OzBargain Deals page when logged in.

Under the heading "New Deals, Coupons, Vouchers and Freebies" there is a yellow separator bar with "Settings" on the right hand side.

          Click on Settings.

You can now either tick on or clear for off, the checkbox for "Show deals marked as NSFW"

When ready, click on the button "Save Preferences"

        • Also, I think most of the deals were lingerie deals.

      Hi wisc,

that's right that in the past, adult deals were not allowed on OzBargain.

We now have a NSFW flag that can be used on deals and yes, that flag should be used on this deal.

      I'll go set it now.

      Thanks

      • We now have a NSFW flag that can be used on deals and yes, that flag should be used on this deal.

Why on earth is this considered 'not safe for work'??

The link goes to a catalogue that will be delivered through most people's letterboxes….

        • Well there are some workplaces where it's better not to have people who are looking over your shoulder, seeing you apparently reading something to do with Fifty Shades of Grey, especially dependent on your boss.

There's still nothing to stop them reading this at home, if they turn on the NSFW flag then anywhere or as you put it, they can read about it at home.

Well there are some workplaces where it's better not to have people who are looking over your shoulder, seeing you apparently reading something to do with Fifty Shades of Grey, especially dependent on your boss.

If it's that kind of workplace, I'm sure they're not going to be happy with you accessing ozbargain, big W or anywhere else for that matter…..
It's for a book…. no nudie pics, no sample content….. just a book cover

Also, I think most of the deals were lingerie deals.

Oh my lord….. from the same catalogue!! It's perversion gone mad!!

          http://catalogues.bigw.com.au/offer/women-s-bras/triumph-emb…

          We must be protected!!

          1. Fifty Shades of Grey

We had a request that this be considered an adult product, and that seemed reasonable.

People can still access it by turning their NSFW settings off at home or if they choose, elsewhere.

          1. Lingerie

We've had requests that some lingerie websites which display nipples and more be marked NSFW.

        • +1

I agree with the nipples, and note there was work done by some reps to ensure their removal…..

Fifty Shades of Grey - How can this be described as an adult product?…. There are no rules regarding it's sale, it's advertised in mainstream advertising material, inoffensive cover, etc etc. What is it about the product which makes it potentially offensive to view?

(never thought I'd ever use the phrase "I agree with the nipples")

  • I personally prefer soft rope than tendon-damaging cable ties.
