  • Can I use this for a reload ?

    • You can't use it to continue an existing plan (ie. Retain any remaining data). You can use it to stay connected to network, just chat customer service and tell them you want to activate and move over existing boost number. Your data allowance will be reset.

  • I wouldn't get any year plans sim from now on and wait till Black Friday if you're out of data or expired on your year plan sim just buy a cheap sim from the shops that will last you for a month.

  • I heard that Boost (and other carriers) have been preventing existing customers from porting out and back in to take advantage of these discounted starter pack deals. Apparently they are marked as fraudulent. Is that actually true? I've got multiple services with Boost and one of them is expiring soon. Not sure if it's worth risking and potentially losing $180+.

    • have exactly done this last year(multiple accounts) and it went without any problem. One of them even a starter pack they helped me to use as a existing customer (over online chat). Not sure if anything has changed since. Just bought one of these to port back one of those which I have ported to Lyca last month (cos I couldn't find a good deal then). I will know in a week or so if they have a issue (hopefully not) :D

      I think if anything they are trying to stop scammers/hackers from stealing phone numbers by fraudulently porting out numbers out of possession from rightful owners. I read that not long ago on ABC news.

      The right to port our numbers is something the ACCC put in place 20 something years ago, https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/accc-mandates-mobile-nā€¦

      Nothing the Telcos can do to change that, unless of course they want to lose their license to operate. So no, your concern is probably based on misinformation.

  • Is the lightning cable MFI Certified?

    • A freebie cable?… I wouldn't expect it.

  • Price beat at office works is no longer an option. Office works saying lucky mobile website is not legit as they are showing different ABN numbers (one is on home page and other one is when we actually go to sim page)

    • OW must of recently had a review of the price beat on these sim cards and decided they won't beat it because of the "validity". I tried PB instore recently and had no luck while last year it was no problem.

  • I called Boost and confirmed they don't allow existing Boost customers to simply transfer their existing number to new sim so not so useful for existing customers. However, it's a shame they're not giving any loyalty incentive to the existing customers and trying to get new ones in. That way they might lose old ones to other providers with better offers.

    • Is it still possible to port out for a week or so and then port back in? Did you get any feeling about that? If they don't allow that I've just wasted some money.

        Should be possible as I remember reading a comment from someone that they did this time but have said that won't be allowed next time. The impression I got was however that they won't allow it. Porting out and back in is legit anyway and they should honour it.
