  Dang so this can't charge a completely dead car battery? Haven't driven my car in over 12 months. Must wait for battery sale I guess

    Yes it can. It just can't jump start it

      Depends on how dead. Had batteries with the indicator window that show red and was able to get it showing green again (not with this particular charger). But think definitely came back with reduced capacity. Not just about capacity either. If for example a fresh battery could do 100 starts without charging and the restored battery was 50%, with lead batteries, capacity drops as the current draw increases, so whilst it might still have half the Ah, it wouldn't do 50 starts.

    Yes it can. Daisy chain a known good battery to the dead one, then put the charger on the dead battery - the known-good gives it a correct reading to begin the charging sequence. However may I suggest this for your car battery instead?

    yes it can, it has a pulse repair mode that tries to charge a flat battery.

  Thanks superforever for the post.

  Perfect timing as I was looking into as Auto electrician had just recommended I buy one as I don't use the car enough and even my new 4 month old battery keeps going flat on me.

  Through recent experience I found out that 2 different road service companies I used have a limit on the number of times they will come out for a flat battery. Probably because they want you to purchase a new one from them. Since I had purchased through Auto Electrician, and he can't find any drain on the battery, had to find a way to be able to kick start it myself. Specs look good so hoping this will get me out of trouble and keep the charge up enough to stop happening.
