First post please be nice 😅

Was looking up a USB-C to Display port cable for my laptop to connect to the 57" Samsung monitor that was on sale a little while ago. Not sure how it'll do - I think my laptop is only DP1.4 not the 2.1 required to drive it.

Never had any experience with this cable brand or with such a monitor. Lets see how it is when its delivered (hopefully tomorrow! 🤞). Posting in case anyone else needs one.

Appears to be the cheapest it has been according to camels.

Nice work op!! these work well, I used one for my laptop as my old monitor only accepted 144hz through DP, only downside for my laptop was HDMI was connected to the graphics card for optimus and PhysX so I didn't get optimum graphics straight from the card using USB-C,, I use one of these 8k ones now HDMI to DP converter https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003328991198.html?spm=a2…

    • That's a very different category of products.

USB-C with DP Alt Mode can be directly connect to DP in a dumb cable, no logic required. While HDMI source to DP output, especially those support HDMI 2.1, will definitely require a chip, usually VMM6100 or VMM7100, which significantly drives up the cost compared to a dumb cable or adapter.

  • if you need 3m.. I've been using this for more than year now without issue :-)
