This is a bit convoluted but I think worth it for a brand new tablet at less than the price of the S6 Lite! I think might only work on Android devices as I don't think Apple store has the apps required. I guess this would work for all preorder S9 FE variants.

Step 1 - Download Samsung TradeUp app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asurion.sa…
Step 2 - Sign up with a device worth $1 - I picked an "Audio accessory", then selected "other" brand and "earbuds". Fill in all your details and get your trade in code (you won't be charged until you use it)
Step 3 - Download the Samsung Shop app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.ec…
Step 4 - Log into Samsung Education store via app - this will bring the price of the tablet down to about $600, plus offer of 10% off for your first order via the app. You can get education access via a number of ways, e.g. if you went to UniMelb you can get an alumni email (https://ask.unimelb.edu.au/faq/2358/#:~:text=You%20may%20lik….)
Step 5 - Hit trade in your device, say you're an existing TradeID customer and enter the ID from Step 2 (should be 8 character alphanumeric code). This will apply the trade in value ($1), as well as $100 bonus trade in credit on the preorder.
Step 6 - Check that it adds the Smart book cover as a free bonus for preordering before check out.
Step 7 - Enjoy 😁

Edit: Looking through the terms and conditions in more detail, you may be able to get the Buds FE for dirt cheap, especially if the 10% off app code applies to the $99 below.

Also not sure why the credit was $100 as T&C on the non education page lists "For a limited time, when you trade-in your existing eligible device, you will receive an additional bonus credit $200 off that you can use towards the purchase of a Galaxy S9 FE | S9 FE+." I didn't feel like drawing attention to this lest my entire order not work - will leave it up to some other motivated soul!

      Yeah I entered CC details to get the trade in code. To help clarify, my trade in code was something like AAXXAXXX (A=letter, X = number) - it's not the email verification code they send you immediately prior.

    For those without access to edu, I bought this today for $434 by trading in a s9+ ($65 + $200 bonus trade in) and used a newsletter $50 voucher.
    Included the smart cover. I had a 20% off accessories/10% off tablets code, but it wouldn't stack.

        I tried the app, but it says "not available in your country" im set to Aus but have a turkey family group for the cheap YT premium. So i think thats why it doesnt come up. Ive tried finding the apk itself, but I can only find the apk for other countries.

      The $1 is not the major problem but I think they charge a $60 late return fee. I figure I'll send some free wired earbuds back, it doesn't really ask for any details if you select "other". I also have a few old Bluetooth ones which barely last an hour on a battery charge.

      I think they start shipping 19/10/23, but says expect delivery in 3-10 days after that. My wife also just flew out, would have been nice if the timing worked better for the GST refund for sure…
