Just received this (I assume) targeted email from Audible.

Entering the coupon code reduces price of the Echo Buds from $199 to just $10.

Only one per Audible account holder.

  • Damn I had to sign up to the trial and then pay the monthly sub to get the code to work. But getting through to chat / phone to cancel and get the credit back is proving challenging.

  • I have a series of [email protected] subscriptions, cycling through free Amazon trials. Currently on a free trial with one but no luck. Signed up for audible (paid) on [email protected] (which has prime, not sure if relevant) and it worked on the $169 buds. Thanks!!

  • Crap, I only spent 1 credit on audiobooks and forgot about the other credit when I got them to refund my membership. Wasted 1 credit as I cannot sign up for trial again, oh well.

    • Mmm, you gained x1, not lost x1. You got a refund so in theory weren't even entitled to the first. Am surprised they refunded at all seeing as you already cashed in on the credit.
      Also, You can sign up anytime with a new email address.

      • I had a free trial they offered which I lost (yeah could say gained). They refunded me because I spent $27 for the paid membership on day 1 of trial (I already spent one credit with trial, before paid membership). Anyways, they had me purchase it again and refunded the $27 again so that I could have a free trial.

        I wouldn’t risk multiple Amazon accounts

        • I have multiple (x4) Amazon Accounts without issue. Always have had and nothing dodgy about it as used for different things.

      • but you have to call/chat to get refund if you paid the monthly memership.

        • You need to do it in audible on the web. The app didn't have the option

  • Got my shipping email too. Hit them up on Live Chat tonight and sorted my refund in about 2 min. Even restarted my free trial for me!

      • for Audible, some of us had to switch from free trial to paid 1 months subscription to get this deal to work, then live chat afterwards to refund the ~ $27

      • Yep from audible. I had the free trial and the code wouldn't work, so I swapped to the $27 monthly plan and the code worked right away.

        Once I had the shipping confirmation for the buds from Amazon, I went on Audible live chat and said I accidentally upgraded from the free plan and wanted to use the free month before deciding if I was to continue.

        Live chat was super helpful, said no worries refund is on the way and free trial restarted.

            @Borg: $16.45 for one month with one credit. The $27 option was for one month with two credits.

            I think if you had a free trial active the $27 plan was the only option available to move to to actually start a “paid” membership. At least that’s what I had to do…

        Yes, to accept the delivery. Only for some accounts though, especially new accounts.

        • Wow, that would be a pain if one wasn't at home when delivered. Mine didn't even require a signature.

          • @Borg: it's even more annoying for the delivery driver as they have to take it back to the depot. You can't just leave it there, even if you get the code over the phone.

            • @Fybre: I just told my delivery driver to leave it at the door. He is no problem with that.

              • @Micky14: he could lose his access to deliver for that. Amazon flex make it VERY clear it's against their rules and you risk your eligibility as a driver. They also record all the phone calls/messages you send as a driver too FYI

        Pretty good I'd say. It feels like a $40-50 pair of earbuds. Sound quality is okay.
        ANC is okayish if you consider it as a $50 bud, for $10 it's a steal. I will test it out further but my ears are not fit for these buds at all.
        Pass-through mode is abysmal, keeps a humm.. white noise in the background. So you would be better off with ANC on.

        These are, in no way $200 buds. For $10 it's a steal. But don't have a lot of expectations. Eartips will definitely matter and vary from one to another.
        Keep low expectations and you'd be happy.
