Clearly I'm out of the loop. Since when are Blizzard games on Steam?

    • +40

When they broke them so badly nobody is buying/playing them

      • +1

It's probably more because of the Microsoft takeover. Doesn't hurt that this also makes it easier to run on the Steam Deck too.

I haven't actually looked into it, but can anyone confirm whether the PC version bought from Blizzard will also show on your Steam account? Is there some sort of merge option?

        • +1

no, you need to buy again on steam, not worth if you just want to run on steam deck, battlenet works on steam deck too

          • @reacher: Doesn't make sense… so if I buy it on battlenet alone I am at a disadvantage compared to if I buy it with Steam? Are there marketing morons at Activision?

          • @reacher: Well that's disappointing to say the least. And you're right about it working on the steam deck already, but I was under the impression it didn't work natively without some workarounds, that aren't exactly 'supported'.

  • +9

Played in on PS5 didnt like it, very soon you vet bored.

  • +22

I can't believe it's that expensive at 25% off. Wow.

  • +8

I am going to wait till all the DLCs and expansions are out for this before I buy this :D I did with with diablo 3 :D

    • +8

there's not much upside to being an early adopter for games:

pay more, game has more bugs, less content

      • +1

yeah I like to play games that are come some what complete, not a fan of having a game and then having ot buy more dlcs and expansions in the future I kind of what it all there first go.

  • +7

Laughs in hall of torment at $7.50

    • +2

+1 highly recommend checking out Halls of Torment!

      • +3

Agreed. I am low key angry at myself for sleeping on it for so long. $7.50. Bro I spend more than that in 1 coffee with first client of the day.

  • +17

Metacritic is 2.1, there is no end-game, paid annual expansion to get a content which should have been in the game from the start.

It is not worth the $82.

  • +9

Biggest gaming disappointment to hype ratio.

  • +6

Reviews are pretty rough. If you're a gamer who wants to grind the end game and play for a while, this isn't the game for you.

If you want to one-and-done the story mode, it's a pretty fun game. Just…. stop playing after that. Because of that, I wouldn't recommend picking this up for $80

  • +6

Watch the reviews on YouTube - the initial reviews at launch weren't bad, but they got worse very quickly as reviewers reached end game. As a die hard Diablo fan, I've decided to not buy this until it is fixed ala D3.

    • Great call!
I stupidly persevered through the dumpster fire D3 launch, and was burnt out by the time the fixes came.
I've already bought D4 but haven't bothered to install it yet

  • +1

    NO F WAY.

  • +2

The story part is actually really good. After that it gets monotonous.

    • The final boss in the storymode was anticlimatic. They came, they said their words, I facetanked the majority of their attacks (I think I was level 50, having done a few but definitely not all sidequests, and no grinding/farming) and then they just kinda died.

  • +3

Season 2 just launched and it's already broken to the point where you can't play it.

    Don't purchase this game.

  • +2

    Waiting for free on GamePass

  • +4

I regret paying full price for this on the blizzard store. Will wait for diablo 5 on steam

  • +6

The funny thing about gamers is that they'll pile-on in the comments about a shoddy game, but you look at the sales figures and realise that these people are buying the game anyway. Diablo 4 made 666 million USD in 5 days.

Gamers are mindless consumerism manifest. Easily one of the worst demographics of people

    • +2

Diablo 4 made 666 million USD in 5 days.

Simple explanation, Open Beta and Slam Beta were capped at level 20. At the time, no one knew there would be no end-game.

      • +5

The amount of preorders sold to gamers on a consistent basis is emblematic of gamers not being discerning consumers.

They could simply wait and read reports before committing to a purchase. That wouldn't happen, though, because gamers will happily eat up whatever slop is served up to them.

        • +1

          You are 100% right

I will say though, I think there is some insidious shit going on from gaming companies with all the pre-order bonuses. It's like they know there game stinks and want to secure your coin before word gets out that the game is not what they promised it would be.

Take this game for instance, if you pre-ordered at the higher tier, you got to play before everyone else.

          • @Dyson8r: Yeah, they incentivise early adoption so that they can still make a fat cheque when they release a product that's unfinished and/or unpolished

          • +1

@Dyson8r: They work with psychologists and experts in manipulating consumers. Gamers stand no chance.

    • +2

It is a popular game, so lots of people have an opinion on it. I played it, I enjoyed it, I uninstalled it once I finished it once.

      • People are upset this game can’t keep them addicted for 2,000 hours and fear they may need to go play something else instead.

        • no life gamers are the worst, they need a job

        • They are upset that it only has 30hrs of enjoyable content. This game and the ARPG genre is not marketed around that limitation. It is supposed to be massively replayable and enjoyable grinding. It's not fun after the first 30hrs, and it doesn't compare well to other games in the genre beyond the initial playthrough of the story campaign.

    Microtransactions Hell

    • +2

Micro? They cost $10+ for some bullshit skin packs

  • Waiting for the 95% discount next year be like

  • +5

I have so much buyers regret getting this game.

    • +1

apparently it was widely criticised by people, why did you buy it?

      • +8

I bought it on release… do not have a time machine, my bad.

        • no problem, as long as you learned your lesson

          • +1

            @beltdrive: …proceeds to preorder Diablo V.

        • +2

stop buying at release. wait like..1 week to see reviews.

  • game should be like 2.46

    • +2

      $2.46 should be it's RRP

  • +3

Got to level 85 in Season0 and level 90 in Season 1.

The campaign, early game and mid game is fun, but the end game is boring.

Still got more value out of it compared to other single player games. But it's missing that end game grind of classic Diablo games.

  • +4

Just bought Elden Ring on Steam sale for $59, at all time low. Seems like better value IMO.

  • +1

That should be a lifetime subscription at that price… Right?

    • You don't have to pay for subscription to play D4.

You can buy battle passes for seasons for added rewards. Also future DLC are usually pay.

But if you bought D4 at launch you could play the seasons till now without having to pay any more money.

  • not recommended at the moment, better waiting for more end game content.

  • +6

    dogshit game, dogshit company

    • +1

dont stay a while and listen

  • Good deal

  • +2

    Dead game.

  • +1

    Not even worth for $50.

  • +2

Bought the PS5 and PC (Battlenet) version of this game when it first came out, the regret…

  • I'll wait for the 99% off offer.

  • Crazy to think arguably two of the biggest releases this year (D4 and Starfield) received widespread acclaim across the board with 9s and 10s, only to now be judged by fans as uninteresting, uninspired and in the case of D4, unabashedly evil (heh) in their pursuits of microtransactions for a $100 - I repeat - $100 game. This is after both titles have generated HUNDREDS of millions of dollars in revenue, too. Even if you did wait for reviews to come in (as you should), you're still being misled as consumers as evidenced by the sales numbers. Just bizarre and paints yet another bad picture for what the AAA games industry has become.

    • That is exactly why players should wait two weeks, and check metacritic and honest reviews before buying a game.

  • Not worth the money, at least by far.

  • The disrespect this game has for your time is worse than gacha games.

Play for story at most, then uninstall.

    • yeah how dare you cant sink 20000 hours into it

  • First diablo game i've uninstalled… I played the crap out of 1-3 + expansions. 4 just didn't do it for me

  • The campaign wasnt bad. but after that its all downhill. The beasties level up quicker than you do (at higher levels) since they scale. There is a lot of bad stats on gear that makes 99% of gear useless. Storage is still a problem. Leveling 1-~25 is fun, then the fun slowly fades. If you are going to buy, wait for a bigger steam discount. At $82 its way overpriced

My biggest gripe is atm there is no Diablo in a diablo game.

  • Path of Exile is the true successor to D2.

  • I enjoyed the story. Saved 10 years for it.

  • dont buy game is dead. it is still over priced with 85% discount
